Quote:Your OK mentioned you were worried about not being able to do the Alpha slot cos you have out levelled the mission. As that isn't available until level 50 anyway, waiting until 40 really doesn't matter. And once you can get in there it's a quick badge and out again. PvP isn't a big thing here so you'll be very unlucky to not be able to get to one badge.I am sure this is true. I am not sanguine about any of it. And, as I have said, I am not about to sit on a street corner with a cup and a sign that says: "will work for portal". Nor am I willing to wait until I get to 40 to get in to the PvP area just to get sandbagged again by something else.

Get someone to drop an Ouro Portal for you and go to the top of the spire for the badge.

Quote:Unfortunatly it's not that simple. Allowing us the ability to manually remove Buffs would also allow us to manually remove debuffs too as they are exactly the same thing with negative values. We already know the game has coding that exists so that when POWER X goes off, it removes EFFECT Y as shown by powers like thaw. It should be a simple matter to add a slash command or right click context option so that a player can remove unwanted effects from himself manually. For the one out of 20 people who do not want a buff it might be a very little bit of extra work, for everyone having to pass out the buffs it's a lot of saved time and boredom.

Quote:Sure it did, it's the last post on the first page. The cast is starting to really get interesting...from part of the official press release.

BTW... Ian McKellan IS coming back to play Gandalf. Somehow my post of that info never showed up here. -
Quote:Ohh, conspiracy theory.... nice! Where is Championess when you need her?Incidentally, as long as there's speculation about stealth name purges going on behind the scenes (a debatable proposition, but one thing at a time), could it be perchance that CoH allows "good names" to be held indefinitely in order to surreptitiously promote more even server population distributions? If someone has really, really set their heart on being "Night Man", surely they will first consider heading to another, less populated server to secure it rather than pick up a thesaurus (or use an online superhero name generator) and try something different?

Quote:I can identify with this, I'm the same. I like playing with or against friends in games if they come over. Online, especially against strangers, CoH is the only one I've cared to try, because the game sounded fun.And having the *option* for social contact is... interesting, even if I don't go out of my way to use it. If I actually WANT to team for a little while, or talk to one of the handful of people on my global list, I can. Basically, however, I play any MMO *despite* the multiplayer aspect, not because of it. And to really blow your mind, MMOs are the only games I will play in any kind of multiplayer mode. Any other game I play, even FPS, is strictly in single player mode with or against AI NPCs.

Quote:Hold on... this isn't right is it? I always understood the rule of 5 is that you can only have of the same named bonus. So you can have 5 '2.5% smashing' bonuses and 5 '3.5% smashing' bonuses as well as 5 '2.5% smashing/lethal' bonuses because it has a different name.Lastly, remember the "rule of 5." The game system will only allow your character to get up to 5 bonuses of any type. So you can only get a damage boost bonus from five different sets. Slot a sixth set with yet another damage bonus and the lowest of all six will be eliminated.

Quote:Thing is, the incarnate content is making you more powerful. So you're bar will raise on what you find difficult on your 50. Once you have a tier 4 alpha, maybe a judgement power and whatever else is coming you'll run an ITF and wonder why you used to struggle. Then you'll go and kick Director 11 and Battlemaiden and realise that sure, it was hard when it first came out, but you're stronger now and it's now just a challenge.I never said we were coordinated.
I also don't mind that we fail the ITF or LRSF (nor do we consistently or routinely fail). I just don't want to see content much above that level, because we do sometimes still fail them. Content much above the level where we sometimes fail will become content that we consistently fail, which is (to me) an unacceptable level of difficulty.
I would like to see some solo Incarnate content, but I'm enjoying what we get at the moment and trust the Devs to know the game and their player base. While this didn't work for PvPit's worked so far for me.

Doesn't matter, they are both the same value. For Defense the game looks at all the attack vectors and types and takes the matching defense value that is highest.

Quote:The only difference between the Apex and Tin Mage TF's and the other ones is they are shorter, and require the Alpha Slot for you to be effective. They are still easy to run. Yup, they take some tactics, but thats NOT a bad thing.Would you be satisfied if all Incarnate content, from now until forever, was team content? Would you be satisfied with Apex and Tin Mage being the "easy" version of Incarnate content, and not examples of the apex (pun intended) of Incarnate content?
And since when did this game become YOUR game? It's as much mine as it is yours so my desires are every bit as important as yours. -

Sorry for the thread jack but:
Quote:Eh? What? Sorry? At worst, Energy Manipulation has 5/9 in the secondary being Melee attacks, and 1 that boosts range, encouraging you NOT to go into Melee. Electric has 4/9 as does Mental. That is 1/4 of your available powers at best, not 1/2 as you are suggesting.Blasters are designed to spend 1/2 their time in melee range. Most blaster secondary power sets (with the notable exception of devices) are mostly melee range attacks with a utility power or 2. They are the only AT in the game that are designed to spend 1/2 (or more) of their time in melee range and lack "real" mez protection.
I consider the Melee attacks mitigation for when foes close. Not intended as part of the attack chain.
Note: Just checked the Wiki and Fire is probably the most Melee heavy with 1 melee attack, 3 PBAOE attacks and 2 PBAOE Toggles. Still under half your powers. -
Cool Warden. Maybe it's a hangover from BaB's trying to eliminate redraw? Or maybe demorecord works differently than the game?
Or possibly the animaters just like the weapon draw animations too much to work a way to remove them. -
Quote:All you are doing is calling another weapon model right? Can you do the non weapon sets with weapons in your hands?I don't know much about the ins and out of the game but using Demorecord you can set up scenes where Dual Pistols can only be used with any animation in the game. This screengrab is from running a dual pistol through the dual blades animations
I can also get a katana to display in one hand and a any Dual Pistol gun model. I haven't figured out how to use the other Dual Blade weapon models yet with a handgun.
I'll let others speculate why you can do that with demorecord and not in the game.
The OP's problem is he has a click intensive set paired with Dual Pistols. I paired DP with Storm which allows me to spend more time with the pistols out while my pseudo pets do some work. -
Yeah, I had heard problems with this too. Did you hit 20 in Hero land, or in Praetoria?
Maybe try rolling a natural hero and seeing if that unlocks them. -
Quote:Hold on, assuming this is for slotting in a tank I don't see the problem with posting here. This forum appears to be for Tankers with the forum description ofPvP forums are at this link: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/forumdisplay.php?f=551
Please post in the correct forum.
Quote:Tankers Talk about issues related to being a Tanker here!
As for the OP's question, it doesn't appear to matter which you put it in for it's effect, so you need to base it off what else you would put in that slot. If it's taking the 3rd slot then as syntax says above it would be better in the lower base regen power. If it's a 4th slot then it's probably not important. -
Quote:Born in Battle looks a heck of a lot easier than the Portal Jockey bagde to gain. Give me a quick run in 3 PvP zones over having the ensure you beat the entire Praetorian gang.I agree with most of you to a point but Gob has a valid point. Let's forget about Nukes for a second and look at something else...
Accolades:
Marshall Badge which adds 5% to your total End and requires the Weapons of Mass Destruction badge located in.. WARBURG. We are talking about an exploration badge here people and the only way to get it and obtain all of the requirements for the accolade is to enter that PvP zone.
Born in Battle which adds 5% to your health and end requires the Triumphant badge (again we are back in WARBURG after yet another exploration badge) plus it requires the Shashbuckler History badge which requires players to click on plaques in SIREN'S CALL and BLOODY BAY
Megalomanic Badge which increases the strength of holds, immobs, sleeps, ect for 60 seconds requires the Last Stand Badge in RECLUSE VICTORY and Triumphant in WARBURG
The other 2 however, look tons harder, even without the PvP visits. -
Quote:Lol, I had the right idea, just got all the facts wrong....Incorrect!
Added i3 actually, removed in Issue 4. At the same time, we had the "Sister Psyche" character there renamed Aurora Borealis, made into a Trainer; Mailise - Sister P's sidekick, ran off (troubled guy); Sister P started standing on her own two feet
Sister Psyche's TF has been in the game the whole time.
The Calvin Scott TF centers around Calvin wanting his wife, Aurora Borealis, back as herself, not as a (in Primal Earth) willing host for Sister P. -
Quote:Nah, it's an old one from I1-4 I think to free Sister Psyche from... umm, the other one. They removed it and added Sister Psyche's TF and in I19 added it to Ouro.Apex/Tin mage are about an hour, to an hour and a half.
COP has a time limit of 1 hour--though generally if you can't do it in the first 20-30 mins you're not gonna beat it.
Calvin Scott TF: Calvin Scott, from the Resistance? I wasn't aware there *was* one. Is this from beta? -
Quote:Yeah, I always thought it was for the Urn, although I know the English never handed it over. Only saw the piece about the Waterford Crystal in the Wiki when looking at the dates.Well they don't play for the URN but the contest is universally known as "The Ashes" and they play for a Waterford crystal vase replica of the urn given to Ivo Bligh.
Ask any living Aussie or English cricketer what they are playing for and you'll get the same answer -
