Wasn't this a confirmed April Fool's joke? I've heard it both ways.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I was under the impression we were not gonna be able to keep those. -

Throws some fear to Desmodos. =)

Obsidian Shield -
Posting these on behalf of Bobby. He was laid up due to a cold, but states feeling much better.
Latest update.
Close up.
I'm really liking WIP, makes it so much more fun for me...since I just get to oogle -

WP also gets a heck of a lot better once you start IOing up the character and getting those +HP Accolades.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty much how I look at it.
[ QUOTE ]
The Fighting Pool is basically mandatory for WP though, and neither Boxing nor Kick work well with DB, so you end up with a completely wasted power in an already tight build.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't say Fighting is mandatory, but I think you'll be hard pressed to find another pool that's as beneficial. Even APP seem lack luster compared to Fighting Pool. If you want to stack on any meaningful levels of defense, Weave is one of the easiest ways to go about it. I use Fighting pool on many Dark Armor, Will Power, and Invulnerable builds, in most cases, Boxing/Tough don't get slotted at all. There just aren't enough slots.
Will Power certainly has issues, but I like the secondary. My BS/WP and DM/WP scrapper play very well. My DB/WP scrapper is ...not on the same level. -

Don't want you to pull a "ViV DA Tanking is too boring" scenario :O
[/ QUOTE ]
The only thing particularly hard about tanking is the boredom. I'm not knocking tankers, I understand why many players like them. It's just not for me. That's not to say I would never role another tanker, just that I have to REALLY be in love with the concept to put up with it. Again, more to do with my play style preferences than any real 'difficulty' with playing tankers. -

Des, IMHO DB/WP is just asking for trouble, to make DB fun and and COMBOie you have to take quite a few of the attacks, and WP really doesn't have many skippable powers (the rez is the only one that comes to mind). THEN to really maximize a WP brute you need to pick up the fighting pool for some additional Def and Resist. I just think you will end up running out of power picks as well as slots if you make DB/WP.
[/ QUOTE ]
I understand where you are coming from. I have a level 50 DB/WP scrapper so I've fairly good idea what I'm getting into. Keep in mind, the only Dual Blade attacks you 'need' are Blinding Feint -Attack Vitals combo, but it requires a lot of recharge.
I suspect Will Power will perform decidedly better on a brute due to higher HP. I have this feeling DB/WP will be one of those few scenarios where I'll enjoy the combo better as a brute than a scrapper...maybe.
Since no one appreciated my clothed characters, I wanted a concept for another scantily clad one, Will Power fit the bill. More specifically, one in no way related to Desmodas lore.

Very nice

- everything is like a Fear now.

Seriously, don't get me started on this -

Bug: Dark Armor/Cloak of Fear is not properly enhanced by fear duration enhancers at least in PvP, probably not in PvE, though accuracy enhancers do work - Aeryn, 2005-10-16 - Castle says 'not certain what this means' - but that it has a low base accuracy - 2005-11-18
Is someone trying to say fear duration enhancers do not make someone feared longer in PVP?.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, I don't do much PvPing, but perhaps this issue can be removed. It's been there since before the PvP changes, but I can't see how it would have made any difference then. I can't imagine how it would have any impact today. No one is gonna stand in CoF range long enough for this to even be noticeable. -

Oh and i think its funny MG put you down for stalker when you said brute. Of course no one else would see the irony, but meh, I giggled!

OH I noticed, but every reply I attempted came off as too harsh, so I chose not to. -

You may try starting with squaring off the original image. 80 x 80 is a square image, shrinking down a rectangular image will usually cause some undesired skewing.

Bokuman is great to work with, just keep in mind English is not his first language. I've gotten two pieces with him, both of which I love. Amazingly he's actually gotten better. His latest Wonder Woman piece is just gorgeous.

I haven't even used the power, but my own idea would actually be 4 Touch of the Nictus -- mix of accuracy, healing, and recharge to your preference -- and two damage IOs. That way you get bonus for 5% more heal to it.
[/ QUOTE ]
In general, this will be a bad idea for a scrapper. Might be ok for a brute. Siphon Life is darn good attack, what ever slotting scheme you decide on should have 3 SOs worth of damage. Anything less will be suboptimal. Some secondaries will want as much heal as they can get, but not at the expense of damage. -
This erm...'guide' can be interpreted in several different ways. It seems you are responding to someone's guide specifically, which really doesn't help anyone.
Any assertions that a player that possess Multiple Purple IOs is some how all well built is rather inaccurate. In many instances, Purple IO sets will actually hurt a build's overall performance.
On the same token, there are many different reasons for a guide. Some players are looking for a 'final' build. Not necessarily something they will level up with or into, but rather something they will be focusing their efforts to obtain.
Claiming 'Purple Builds' are Champagne tastes in the face of beer budgets is categorically false. Every player has the same opportunities to acquire influence/infamy, recipes, and IOs. We all have the same means of income. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be planning for Purple IO outside of your own personal desire not to do so.
I do agree, the best guides will include level up advice and/or builds that can be leveled into. That doesn't mean every single guide could be written as such. -

Revised my DM Guide, Although Desmodos' is much more thorough and complete.
Just update the link from my old one, if ya please. Thanks!
[/ QUOTE ]
I like your guide. It's a different perspective and no where near as bloated as mineBesides, I look at your being more about DM in general where mine is rather specific to DM/DA.

You can always check out Artist guides like this too. I love how BAS does these. So much that i had to ask for one myself.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that is cool, and a damned good idea. Gonna have to come up with something similar. -

also on a further note as such, a guide of this high calibur quality could also do well with a section about power pool and anchilary power pool evaluation and comparison of the synergy, pros & cons of each with the DM/DA set
also abit more indepth with some IO advice would do well, i mean like, yer little gem of an idea about the +end proc in DR really deserves a mention in there somewhere, yeah i know it's in the sample final builds, but that really doesnt help much at all just hideing there
all in all, extremely well thought out and presented, but then i wouldn't expect any less from Des

That's actually a very good point. Gonna see if I can work those in to the current format. They'll definately be part of any furture updates.
