[edit: Not to be the party pooper, but honestly, I don't see Scrappers needing more damage.]
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless I misunderstood the discussion, it's not so much about scrappers needing damage, but rather striking a balance between brutes and scrappers. I have no opinion as to whether such a balance is needed, but given the choice between increased resistances and increased damage, damage seems like the only likely alternative. Increases in resistance would place us back into the category of stepping on Tankers toes. -
I'll take the damage, please
EDIT: This comment was inteneded as tongue and cheek and not a serious endorsement for a buff -
I can't see playing Claws and not taking both Spin and Shockwave. Both powers add AoE damage but function differently enough to where I don't see one replacing the other. I wouldn't skip either.

Heh, I have another lovely addition to my collection, forumites:

Now that's a dynamic pose, very nice. Congrats. -
You really can't go wrong with any combo, just pick any combo that best fits your concept. This gets stated over and over, but it simply the truth.
As for me, over four years now and I still love to play my DM/DA. Big part of the appeal, is rarity. Despite significantly improved public opinion, few players chose to level anything paired with Dark Armor. I still think DM is the past primary for Dark Armor.
Mind you, I play scrappers more than any other AT. Any scrapper primary or secondary I haven't played to 50 is simply a limitation of time. -

Awww...
I get to the end of the post and can't find the T-Shirt order form.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, haven't found the right artwork for it. I'm open to suggestions. -
I'm strongly biased towards DM/DA but I'm not sure I would recommend it for your situation. Here is a guide on the combo if you wish to pursue it.
DM/DA blooms late and can be difficult to manage endurance at early levels. The end results are well worth the required efforts though. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, it started as the RCS (before heavy IO use) where you fought a 3 boss group of even cons (lvl50 was the highest you could find there, iirc). Tier 9s trivialized that a bit more than it does now. For one thing, it was far easier to kill a +0 group within 3 minutes, but a beating a +4 within that same time frame is much harder - making the crash a much more real possibility.
That's how I remember it, anyways. I could be off a bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's my recollection, but these days folks seem to have forgotten the spirit of the challenge. It was supposed to be a stress test for your build. If you typically use your tier 9 in game play, then it's quite valid for the challenge. If the only time you could see using the tier 9 is to pass the challenge, then you're doing yourself a disservice. -
[ QUOTE ]
It seems to give up too much to achieve the chain that I originally wanted, but Im okay with a HS -> Hack -> DB -> Parry -> HS chain if I can manage it
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking of shifting efforts in that direction as well. -
This is the best build I've come up with so far. I was trying to come up with something that would support Hack-->Disembowel-->Headsplitter attack chain. I've yet to get Headsplitter to recharge fast enough, needs to be below 3.13 seconds if I understand correctly. Fastest I got was 4.1 but I'm not convinced it's worth it. A more endurance friendly version has Headsplitter at 4.3. Flip over Slice, Whirling Sword, and CoF to compare. All numbers are only achievable when Hasten us up, which as a down time of 18.6 secs.

Generally considered covered under the no temp rule, but worth clarifying. -
Just tested it. Fear effect should not be interrupted by RttC. I specifically tested ToF with RttC and I perma-feared a +1 Behemouth Overlord.
FYI, I would strongly recommend against Presence pool. You can accomplish the same objective with just ToF. Granted, that's just my opinion. Factually, ToF is superior to every power in Presence Pool. -
When in game, I use Prt Scr to capture in game images, which end up in the screen shot folder. When I ran XP, I could also use Prt Scr to capture images in Characeter Creator, Icon Costume Editor, and Character Selection screen. These would then need to be pasted onto another program, usually photoshop. Since going to Vista, this no longer works. In game screen shots still work properly, but when I paste images onto Photoshop I just get a black image. Is there a Vista setting to fix this?

Here's a few screen shots of characters of mine you could use.

I'll go ahead and post this. I pretty much hate this build, but it does demonstrate you can in fact soft cap Dark Armor. I did this awhile back, but abandoned it because I knew I would hate playing it. I've yet to revisit the idea, does show possibilities.

I think one thing that is being overlooked is the following possibility:
Yes, you may switch sides, but ONLY WITH CHARACTERS CREATED WITH THE NEW RELEASE. Sorry about the caps, but it just seems like opening too many cans of worms if they were to allow fully tricked out fifties to switch sides at launch.
[/ QUOTE ]
I concede that is a possibility, but I refute it's likely hood. While I appreciate the difficulty involved in balancing all the ATs, they have been doing so on a lesser scale for quite some time. When RWZ and Cimmeroa opened up to both sides, players declared the death of several ATs...it still hasn't happened. Heroes and Villains have been teaming for quite some time now, this wouldn't change anything.
There are those (myself included) who felt the creation of the Rogue Ilse was an error. While I appreciate the conceptual reasons driving it, it essentially split the player base. This has the potential to diminish that separation. -
-
Not sure what's considered sizable, but if mine qualifies, I'll volunteer.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Tex, I wouldn't be surprised if they combined the markets with this expansion, especially if people can switch sides.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is an area I'm very curious to see their intentions. I don't think they will merge the markets. It has nothing to do with the arguments for or against such a merger. The devs have had ample opportunity to merge the markets but have chosen not to. If merged markets would be ok in the Rogue system, why not do it now?
I hate to say it, but this whole thing smacks of another currency to me. Not infamy, not influence, but some Pratorean currency with it's own market system that only functions in that dimension.
Another possibility, you earn along your affiliation. If you're "evil" you get Infamy, redeem your self and now you earn Influence. In other words, you'd be carrying both currencies.
Now for real annoyances, can a rogue scrapper hand a villainous dominator a skittle? Why wait until CoH:GR for this? Fix that issue now! -
[ QUOTE ]
I can honestly say /dark armor sucks on Stalker. I've tried a lot of secondaries on Stalker and /da is the only set that I have trouble with. It just doesn't mesh well. And even with the mez toggles, it still feels weak on stalker.
Not sure about on scrapper though. The mez toggles don't mess with Hidden so I guess it's better.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have 5 Dark Armor Scrappers, most of them 50. I have a level 50 Dark Armor tanker with plans for another one...eventually. I have two Dark Armor brutes with plans for 1-2 more...eventually.
I don't have any Dark Armor stalkers. I have no plans for any Dark Armor stalkers in the foreseeable future. Presently, I cannot imagine what could possibly entice me to role a Dark Armor stalker.
For the record, I don't have any stalkers at all, but there are a few combos that interest me. -
You folks just gave me an objective to work on until Issue 15.
Presently, my BS/DA runs CoF and has virtually no enduance concerns, time to beef up the reacharge and survivablity a bit.
