Not really laughable when you consider that it means that you're getting hit 7% less, even after those 2 debuffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
That seems off. Cims are hitting you for Smash/lethal, since WP has so little S/L defense, wouldn't the incoming damage by substantially higher? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Which Will Power power grants Def debuff resistance?
[/ QUOTE ]
Heightened Senses, all 17.3% worth. (Tankers is 21.625%.)
I tested it a while back, single attacks from Cims have a debuff value of 10% (screenshot). So if you get hit twice (-20%) it will shave 3.46% off it. Laughable. :P
[/ QUOTE ]
That explains why I never noticed it, but to know. -
[ QUOTE ]
And the lack of debuff resistance means that Regeneration is the one secondary that can be essentially turned off if hit with enough debuffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
How do defense debuffs turn off Regeneration? -
Which Will Power power grants Def debuff resistance?
-
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I base this alot of this on ITF runs mind you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which disproportionately favors */WP because it's got def debuff resistance and significantly higher levels of lethal resist.
[/ QUOTE ]
What?
Why should lethal resitance make a difference? Isn't Regnerations mitigation indescrimante? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
That logic went wrong somewhere.
And I've personally never been outlasted by a anything/regen, but that's just me, I'm a crazy kat/wp.
[/ QUOTE ]
You've obviously never played with a crazy good, equally well built Kat/Regen. I routinely outlast Dark/WP by a long margin, even when they're built to the brim like myself.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not saying Regneration is a weak secondary, but I don't think it's for everybody.
I've played BS/Regen, BS/WP and BS/DA. Both my BS/DA and BS/WP got to 50 not issues and had tons of fun. My BS/Regen is still stuck at level 37 because after player her for an hour I have to log off in disgust.
I've played DM/Regen, DM/DA and DM/WP. DM/DA is obviously my favorite. I tried force myself to play my DM/Regen to 50, but by the time I got to level 46 it became about as enjoyable as dental surgery. I'm loving my DM/WP (level 44) and find her infinately more survivable than my DM/Regen.
At this point, I've just decided Regeneration simply isn't for me. Presently, I can't imagine what would ever possess me to role another one. That doesn't make it a bad set, it's simply not compatable for my playstyle. -

Folks seemed to have it covered, so I wasn't going to, but since you mentioned me
[ QUOTE ]
It seems to have very un-useful powers, Cloak of Fear and Death Shroud and that Oppressive Gloom.
[/ QUOTE ]
Vallatabanan, here's why everyone's gonnna differ from you. The powers you listed as "un-useful" what most Dark Armor enthusiasts love love about Dark Armor.
Death Shroud is a great endurance management tool. When fighting 3 targets or more, it allows you to focu on meaner targets, requireing less attacks on minions. Less attacks means less endurance burned.
CoF or OG mitigate minion damage and can be stacked with your primary for great mitigation against LT and Bosses.
Use Dark Armor's tools to their fullest, invest in some IOs and I think you'll be amazed at how strong Claws/Dark can be.
Try the Dark Armor sections of the guide in my Sig. Claws/DA is a popular set, you should have no trouble getting advice -

you'll eventually want to take all the powers except Resurgence.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why the hate for self rez powers? I mean, even with how nutzoid us scrappers can get we still die once in a while. And when that happens we don't always have a handy medic available to get us back on our feet. Nor do we always have an awaken (or dare use it). As such self rez powers can be handy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not a fan of Self-Rez powers. In my experience, the majority of times my scrappers go down, it's because I got overwhelmed by too many mobs. In most those scenarios, I'm still surrounded by said mobs, so using a self rez will likely result in my immediate face plant.
It's not so much that self rez powers don't have their uses, because they can come in handy. It's more an issue of opportunity costs, given the choice between another power that might prevent my death and a power that will rez me, I'll go for the preventative one. -

People slot something lower than SO's? I usually just try to grind it to 22 myself.
[/ QUOTE ]
What's an SO? -
All scrapper combinations are very good, including the onces you've suggested. DB/WP is very strong and lots of fun.
[ QUOTE ]
Do you usually pick up defensive or offensive powers first? Which ones get slot priority?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because Will Power has Fast Healing and Quick Recovery, the Fitness pool can be delayed (or skipped entirely but I don't recommend that). This allows you to take DB and WP powers pretty much as the become available. I believe the average scrapper will slot for Acc and end in their attacks first. Fill in your mitigation powers as you go, adding damage to your attacks every chance you get.
Playing a scrapper is about balancing damage output with survivability, you need to pay attention to both. If you are new to scrappers, Will Power is the easiest to start because the damage to mitigation balance is the most intuitive. -
I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere but I don't typically follow the Tanker forums and my search-fu sucks, so apologize if this has been discussed to death.
Came up with a concept for a WP/BA Tanker that I really like, so I've worked up a build. I like the build, but I suspect I have too attacks...if there is such a thing. The build uses everything from Battle Axe and everything from Will Power except Resurgence. I chose to skip the APP.
Now it boils down to Chop vs Stamina. My recovery is at 3.26 EPS (assuming accolades) with a toggle consumption of 1.05 EPS. AoEs have 32% endurance reduction. STs have 39% endurance reduction. The build would have 42.5% global recharge, no Hasten. I suspect this might have endurance issues at higher levels? Is Chop considered skippable? -
I don't do much farming, but I have friends that do. When I agree to tag along these, I've never found the spawns they chose to be particularly challenging. While I personally feel the difference in survivability between Firey Aura and Dark Armor is quite significant, it may not be too relevant to farming. Farming usually involves wiping out the spawn as quickly as possible, to the point where incoming damage beyond the alpha is trivial. With that in mind, Spines/Fire seems the superior choice for farming.

Ok, so ... the TARDIS thingie is a phone booth?
(still trying to figure this out, sorry)
[/ QUOTE ]
TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space. It is a space ship used by Time Lords, a race of people that use said ships to travel in space and time. On of it's many technological advances is the ability to cram massive amounts of space within a relative small dimension; why translates to "it's bigger on the inside."
The Doctor, from Doctor Who, had a chameleon circuit installed on the outer hull of his ship, so it would disguise it's self like an object in the area. While visiting London in 1950's, it disguised the ship to look like a Police Box used by London Police at that time. The circuit got stuck and his ship has looked like a wooden police box ever since.
Incidentally, my favorite part of every new Doctor Who series is the expression on a person face when they first walk into the TARDIS. -

Why ranged attacks?
[/ QUOTE ]
Just like in Hamidon Raids, each Blue Mitos have to be attacked with ranged attacks. I can't find the exact values, but I believe Blue Mitos resist ~90% of all melee attacks damage, regardless of type.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not resistance, as there is no such thing as positional resistance. Instead, they basically have capped defense.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll pay closer attention next time we run this, but swear I've hit them with Smite and MG for 1 pt of damage, in other words there was more than just defense at work there. -
[ QUOTE ]
That is what the token blaster is for.
[/ QUOTE ]
Was answering in regards to why soloing LGTF with a scrapper might be unattainable on many scrapper builds. I suppose you could build specifically for it, but I wouldn't. -
[ QUOTE ]
I am not 100% sure how to take that.
[/ QUOTE ]
You've invited me to ignore you. Where's the confusion?
[ QUOTE ]
But the reason i said that was i would not want anyone to feel like to have to get my tells and really no other way around it
[/ QUOTE ]
You've been presented with alternatives, in this very thread. I didn't post to annoy you or make fun of your methods. My post was to inform you I find your tells annoying. I suspect I'm not the only person. This seems counter productive to what you are trying to do, but you seem content with being placed on ignore. -

Thank you for simplfying things for me. -
[ QUOTE ]
Has any scrapper attempted to solo Lady Grey? I haven't done it since the first weekend it was out.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's gonna take a very specific build to get past the Hamidon mission. Not so much the difficulty, but not every scrapper will have enough ranged attacks to take down a blue mito. -
[ QUOTE ]
Do Scrappers really only have three pools?
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct

Is Mids' missing anything?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well yes, but not related to scrapper epics as far as I am aware of.
[ QUOTE ]
If not, are there any plans to add one or two Epic Pools?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's been talked about, debated, and hinted. It's on the commonly accepted "will happen eventually" list. When that will be, is anyone's guess. -
[ QUOTE ]
Anyways... my point is, they want to get people involved, it's a good thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
If I disagreed with this, I wouldn't have bothered posting.
[ QUOTE ]
It's just one short message, which you do not need to respond to. Someone who does not know about an event cannot express interest in it.
[/ QUOTE ]
When I send someone a tell, I expect them to read it and to respond it. If they don't, I assume to don't like/don't want to hear from me so I write them off. I hold myself to the same standard. If you send me a PM or a tell, I take the time read it and to respond.
Not everyone will bother to say anything. It's not worth the hassle, simpler just to put folks on ignore. -
I read TARDIS and immeadiately followed the nearest Void ship for a parrallel world jump, just to take a look. Figured I'd wave real quick, while I was here. Not staying, rift closures and all that
-
[ QUOTE ]
Also... what is someone is not on the global channels or not monitoring them?
[/ QUOTE ]
There's usually a good reason for this.
There's a difference between sending a tell to someone one who signed up/expressed interest in an event as a friendly reminder and sending everyone you can find the exact same tell announcing the event. The latter ranks right up there with Gagora emails, IMHO. -
[ QUOTE ]
Really? I had no problems with my DB/WP in the upper 40s. I had some of the accolades by then, though. Don't remember which ones. So maybe that's the explanation for the different experience. I expected it to be weaker than my other scrappers, but it kinda just wasn't, or at least not by enough to be frustrating.
[/ QUOTE ]
For one reason or another, with my DB/WP I simply out leveled a lot of the content required for most of the accolades. My 2nd WillPower scrappers was BS/WP and I solo'd her quite a bit more, which made acquireing the accolades part of her natural progression to 50. At first, I thought Parry was accouning for the differences but I realized situations where Parry could not help me were still easier with my BS/WP. I want back to my DB/WP and started working on the +HP accolades and the impact was immeadiate. Yeah, my BS/WP is still tougher, but the disparity between the two is no longer as extreme.
I used to think ITFs were a kiss of death fo DB/WP scrappers, but after getting the accolades (and some +HP bonuses) I started ripping through Cimmeroans with the same success as my Dark Amor scrappers.
So yeah, I'm gonna say those accolades make a big difference for Will Power. -

Hi there Toril
I would like to try and help You understand why it is I send the tells out every night for the events.
1st I send the tells so everyone has a chance to find out about the events
2nd When you get a tell from me it is not that im asking Your 50 if that was the toon you was on at the time. I was simply asking you as a person if you would like to join the events. So if you had a lvl 1 you would have wanted to get these badges on we would have been more then happy to help you.
Anyhow i hope that will help you understand it a little better.
Have a good day and happy hunting

[/ QUOTE ]
You do understand this has the added effect of annoying a significant portion of the player base?
I appreciate what you folks are trying to do and support it. I am all for folks organizing events for the entire community.
I also personally find it annoying to get some random tell when I'm in the middle of something. I feel obligated to read said tell and respond to it so I don't come off as rude or unappreciative (I do that well enough on my own.) To find out it's a tell about some event I already read about on the forums, chose not to sign up for, and could not attend anyways because I'm in the middle of something else. Frankly it's very annoying. You have access to 3 global channel, ALL of which I monitor.
All these tells do is make me not want to join any event you're sponsoring. When this organizations name comes up I think, "Oh yeah, those annoying folks who send redundant tell."
Just my opinion,
Best of luck.
