They must like spending 200000 on runebound armors, since it costs 8 tickets to roll for common salvage.
-
Dev choice: Salvage and recipies. No tickets
All other AE arcs: Tickets, no salvage or recipies.
When you're above the maximum level, and are exemplared down to meet it, you will gain influence but not experience.
So, if you're playing a "Dev's choice" arc whos maximum level is below your current security level, you gain infuence, but no xp or tickets. You'll also be getting salvage and recipies.
I can't think of any instance where you wouldn't gain influence, aside from testing your own unpublished arcs. -

Is there a trigger that has to occur to run a battle?
[/ QUOTE ]
There is if you set one...
If you don't set a trigger, then the battle begins when you get in range to activate the spawn, which can be as soon as you enter. If you don't see the battle until after one side loses, then you'll only see the winning side.
There's a possibility one side of the battle isn't spawning if you don't have the approriate ranks available (minion lieut or boss), but that doesn't sound like what you're experiences.
Give the battle a trigger, and you'll know when it begins. -

Good point. The mission is 10-20. Lemme experiment.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've noticed my custom enemies, as both enemies and allies, using defensive sets in 30s, 40s, and 50, but not using them under 20. It's not that they stopped using some powers from the defensive set, but stopped using all powers from the defensive set. -
Developer choice missions drop rewards like regular missions.

Oky.. ive been tring out a ton of arcs and it seams like half dont have stories, and outta the other half that do atleast 60-70% of um have either mobs that are too hard, or bosses that are basically instant death
[/ QUOTE ]
There are immature and stupid people in the world. As long as there are the types of people that enjoy spreading viruses or hacking into first-person shooter games, we get to put up with idiots that enjoy aggrivating others. What were the ratings on those arcs? The only method we have to combat these failures of evolution in the mission architect is to submit an appropriate rating for the arc. If you're not willing to experience gameplay frustration, I honestly suggest not playing arcs without many positive ratings. -
Although I agree with the gist of the post, I'll add two nits:
[ QUOTE ]
New basic objective: fight a named lieutenant.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can fight a named lieutentant by selecting a lieutenant as the boss for a "fight a boss" objective. It does *not* get upgraded to a boss if the opponent is actually a lieutenant. You can unclick the "required for mission completion" option, too.
The "boss" can even be a minion, if you so desire.
[ QUOTE ]
New advanced objective: boss ambush. A named boss comes to attack you. Bonus: Boss is not necessarily surrounded by enemies of the same faction.
[/ QUOTE ]
This may not be what you want, but you can set an ambush from a custom group that only contains bosses. Although, this will bring at the least 3 bosses, which may or may not be your desired goal
I will say I've had some fun putting 3 ambushes of only bosses onto a minion that dies in one hit. The next 5 minutes are a pure joy -
[ QUOTE ]
I am surprised I havent found it yet, if it is there; if its not there, it needs to be at the top of the priority list.
[/ QUOTE ]
You may have to empty the custom group of all creatures. You can either delete them (custom enemies), remove them (original enemies), or change the group they're associated with (custom enemies).
Once the custom group is empty it'll vanish.
Deleting characters, if that's how you want to do it, is done through mycreattions->mycharactes, not from within the editor for your story. -
[ QUOTE ]
i wanted to make a mission called farmer paradise... with tons of glowies
then set up an ambush on each that spawns a Malta gunsliger and 2 malta sappers on a map of carnies..
[/ QUOTE ]
Either I've missed an important option, or ambushes don't work off of multiple versions of the same enemy. I'd like to be able to que 15 ambushes by killing 5 "bosses" that have 3 ambushes set to spawn when that boss loses health, but it just doesn't work that way.l
What I would do with 15 ambushes... -
This post is way to long for what I'm saying, but it's too late for that now.
[ QUOTE ]
Granted, assasin strike is kinda mean to grop on someone, but it should be fair game if you use a harder setting.
[/ QUOTE ]
Two problems with that line of thought:
Assassin strike itself makes things harder for those that would actually be affected by it. If you take a "hard" setting and add assasin strike to it, it'll likely be too hard for the sort of person that feels reasonably challenged by that setting. Some enemies with energy transfer can already inflict more than a scrapper's full health worth in damage. Some powers just completely wreck a player's experience. It's like how an elite boss with rage is suddenly so much more difficult than an elite boss without it. I liken it to taking out a one-foot section of road from an elevated highway. Entertaining when you're not the one eating asphalt.
Second, a problem that I'm sure is much less important, is the presence of an incredible hate for certain game mechanics, such as "stealth strike". The first time I faceplanted against arachnos because of a stealth strike was the last time I intentionally chose any mission that had anything to do with arachnos. Reasonable or not, if I ran into an assassin strike during an architect mission, I'd have to have a [censored] good reason not to instantly quit and 0-star the entire thing. I hate that stuff that much. -

75% of which are farms.
[/ QUOTE ]
Speaking of farms, I saw a mission that was advertised as being a farm for "fire tanks". Since I've been making one myself that abuses certain enemy qualities, I ran this mission to see if I could find anything worth adding. To my surprise, all of the enemies were custom critters that had no hesitation to run away from burn. Had I rolled my eyes any harder, they would have popped out.
Having a severe distaste for "farming" of any sort, I've always allowed myself the assumption that the common idiot's idea of farming really is more efficient, in some way, than what I do for fun.
The mission architect has truely shattered that illusion.
P.S. I'm already sick of sifting through badge farms. Is there a badge for creating crappy badge farms? -
[ QUOTE ]
Flash arrow & smoke grenade seriously need to be switched to Extreme settings only or coded to work like the player versions, where it breaks after taking damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Flash arrow doesn't 'break' after the opponent takes damage. The AI is set so that once you engage it (damage, no damage, your fault, my fault, nobody's fault), your enemy's perception and your stealth are ignored for that enemy. All games I've ever played did this, because going invisible in the middle of a fight is cheating if a player does it, but a "challenge", so called, if an NPC does it.
The problem is, we gamers don't have the ability to completely ignore something just because we're in a fight.
Flash arrow is coded the same. -
As a brief support for more control over spawn placement, it really is irksome to try to arrange an encounter, and have it become either way too easy or way too hard because an ambush/boss/battle/etc didn't appear anywhere near the location it needed to be.
It seriously limits available maps when the continuity of a mission depends on encounters working a certain way, and some maps just aren't workable for anything more complex than a radio mission. -
I imagine having a battle where both groups are enemies, rather than one being rogue or ally, might be causing the issue. I suggest trying setting the arachnos to rogue (or even ally), and see if your specific problem persists.

It just seems like no matter how Castle designs a T9, people will find something wrong with it. (Hibernate is probably the closest he's come.)
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think the people that soft-cap their shield scrapper's defenses are the ones Castle worried about when designing One With the Shield, to put it politely. That, and he didn't design hibernate, but he did nerf it's benefits from recharge. -

the set seems to have been made to go hand in hand with the assumption that distance is damage mitigation
[/ QUOTE ]
When forcebubble forces things outside of the range of some of my blasts it stops being mitigation and starts being a pain in the [censored].
And then the enemies try to run away and I plink away their health with my defender scalar damage. -

[ QUOTE ]
Ok, so where exactly should I get those extra slots for Hurricane from? Pull them out of my [censored]?
[/ QUOTE ][ QUOTE ]
and Short Circuit with 4 EndMod set IOs
[/ QUOTE ]
Right there.
I do like having short circuit slotted for endmod. Don't misunderstand.
However, if you're going to skip slotting one of the most powerful tohitdebuffs in the game, then comment on your inability to survive something that debuff makes trivial, then you can shove the condescension back into your [censored] where I just found the slots. (edit: that sounded a bit more cross than I intended. I just though it sounded funny)
5 slots (I have 3tohit and 2endredux) on 1 power to survive any solo content with ease unless you go looking for harder things. We obviously have different build priorities, but don't act as though it's impossible.
This appears to be aside from your actual point, so I'll just state I agree otherwise, especially with elec's unimpressive damage for soloing defenders. -
[ QUOTE ]
And there is no way I could mitigate boss damage for 2 minutes, even if I threw in Snow Storm, Steamy Mist, and Hurricane. Yeah I could keep him off his feet most of the time, but I only have 638 HPs and no self heal. And what is that for a boss? 3-5 hits?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been pinning an even con crey power tank (35) using nothing but hurricane and steamy mist for over 5 minutes now, and so far i've regenerated to full health between each of his hits, since they're so far apart. It seems when I use snowstorm he runs away
But yeah, it did take me over a minute to kill him using charged bolts, ball lightning, and sand of mu.
+1 Vortex Cor Leonis Archon. Nope, he can't kill me, even though he got a crit on me before I tagged him with hurricane.
+1 Tank Smasher. Nope, he can't kill me either. He might be able to on the off chance that he could get in range to hit me with handclap (and it not miss).
+1 greater devoured. Nope. Though I did find the swarms entertaining.
If you're using more powers than I am at a lower level and dying where I am constantly at full health, I think your analysis is lacking something.
Either you're embellishing the truth, or you haven't slotted hurricane. That's how it appears, that is.
edit: I'll add that being mezzed completely ruins storm, but that's true for any defender, and not what you're alluding to in your statement. -

I presume you got Repulsion Field and Repulsion Bomb mixed up here?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not that I'm aware of.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, here's what you said about Repulsion Bomb, the power that you currently have to target a friendly to use:
"I do not wish to see this power changed to work off an teammate. I find this power to be extremely useful solo."
And that's what you fully intended to say?
