The Looping happens to me most the time. Half of that causes the game to crash.

Quote:Bonus for not needing to steal underpants!
Basic strategy (originally stolen from Leandro IIRC):
1. Enter but leave the glowies until he timer runs down
2. Kill the three waves of warworks that come out
3. Clear all but 1 glowie (ideally one near his spawn point)
4. Summon temp pets (especially Shivans and HVAS if you have them)
5. Use Biological Mutagens temp powers
6. Grab the last glowie
7. When Director 11 Spawns drop Chemical Burn and Nuclear Blast temp powers on his head and lead the shivans towards him.
8. Profit! -
Quote:No, it does not. When I look at a powers detailed information, does the recharge displayed also include the global recharge?
Quote:I am trying to get more global recharge into my Earth/Ice/Icy and I added the following sets:
4 Slot Basalisk
5 Slot Dampened Spirits
5 Slot Obliteration
2 LotG
5 Slot Stupefy
The total recharge before Hasten is applied is 38%, after Hasten its 108%....when I look at the power info does the recharge value display as applied by the 38%
Quote:and how do I calculate the end recharge when I have Hasten+global recharge applied?
Quote:The reason I ask is because to get the Basalisk into my Holds I sacraficed .20s recharge and I dont know if the global rech total compensated for that loss. -
Quote:More or less my stance on Hasten too. I try to add it only when the character concept warrants it, and try to avoid it where it will cause redraw.Reason to not take hasten:
"Because I don't want to."
I don't care overmuch about powersets, but I'll agree that a lot of the buff sets don't seem to need it. Shields are either toggles or running constantly (or can be slotted just fine.) Defensive sets with click protection, as well - I can typically slot that so it's up, and I'll leave that on auto. -
Quote:In the US, it means "quality of mind showing enthusiasm, boldness, energy, courage, determination and motivation." Granted, it's considered an archaic word now.As an Aussie living in England I had to stop using the word "spunk". Not sure of it's meaning stateside. But I could no longer say such things as "She's a spunky looking girl", or "He's full of spunk this morning".
Oddly this is one of the few British colloquialisms I know--and yes--it' something you should stop saying in England(Ewww...) -

I'm pretty proud of the fact that I knew she meant "eraser".
Quote:That reminds me of a colleague at work telling us how an Irish friend got himself in trouble at an airport in the US. When he was asked by the Immigration officer why he was visiting America, he said, "For the crack."
Yeah, crack is a very bad and very illegal drug here. What does it mean there?
Quote:I once told a friend in an online game she was a real 'pro'. Didn't work out too well.
I'm kind of afraid to ask, what does it mean in the UK? The only thing I can find online is "Public Records Office" -
Quote:The end cost is high, so End Reduction first. How do you guys slot damage auras like Lightning Field, Blazing Aura, and Death Shroud?
I've just started a fire brute and an electric tank and am wondering how to properly slot Blazing Aura and Lightning Field.
The auras' damage is so low, they usually aren't worth slotting with Damage enhancement. I will slot damage procs however(Armageddon: Chance for Fire is really nice, if expensive).
Lightning Field is most useful slotted for End Mod(Efficacy Adaptor has an End Red/End Mod piece), then procs. It can finish off the Endurance of enemies that Power Sink doesn't drain.
Quote:There is a Chance for stun proc in an End Mod set, which all versions of Lightning Field will accept.
You can find the details of the set here: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Energy_Manipulator -
Fire and Energy should ignite Oil Slick.
Quote:Sadly, despite Castle's best efforts, it sometimes will not ignite no matter what you try.I've had some less-than-reliable results lighting Oil Slicks with my TA/A Defender; sometimes Blazing Arrow just doesn't want to do the trick.
Now, my Rad/Rad Corr used to team a lot with a friend's Ninja/TA MM, and my Corr was 100% good for lighting OSAs. In trying to ascertain the difference, the only thing I ever came up with was the fact that Blazing Arrow (WARNING: working from memory) does Lethal damage with a fire DOT "kicker," while my Rad's attacks are all Energy damage.
The pet theory I developed was that for some unknown-to-me reason, sometimes the game would decide that the Oil Slick was defeated by the fire DOTs and therefore, FWOOSH, but sometimes it decided it was via the main lethal chunk of damage, and therefore, no ignition.
No idea if that's what's actually going on, just my theory. /em_shrug

I believe it has to do with it's unique status--it's the only power that summons an pseudo-pet that cons as enemy to players(so you can damage and kill it AKA 'ignite') and to enemy groups. -

(less funny anecdote)
The same friend visited Scotland, and at a pub asked for a can of coke. He received a bug-eyed stare, "You want a CAN of coke? Afraid we've only 'tins' here"
Apparently, "cans" in Scotland, are what we call "kegs" in the US. -
Quote:Rhyming slang just isn't used in the US(at least not in Massachusetts). It's a mystery as to its meaning. (I have learned Cockney rhyming slang was originally meant not to be understood)Living in America and growing up with some rhyming slang (among other things) in the house...
I'm curious if anyone in the community commonly uses any rhyming slang?
Trouble and strife
Skyrocket
on me todd
bristols... <.<
And I'm curious if people within NA community online here are a bit more savvy about some of it...
Most people don't have a clue as to the real meanings of bollocks and/or bugger... (don't be offended!)
Bollocks? I've learned what that means(not something you want to yell in public). The dog's bollocks? Somehow good.
Bugger? Apparently not nice, but don't know what it is. (I understand it just doesn't sound the same in an American accent--Bugger instead of Buggah) -
My friend's family called their loofah-sponge a "poof". Their scottish family visited and were rather alarmed to hear "There's a poof in the shower if you need it".

Even this proc will aggro, but it doesn't happen every time. I've sat stealthed within a group(65 feet stealth) with World of Confusion, slotted with CC. For the most part, they attack each other--about 30 seconds in--they aggro on me.

Sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Each jump will roll to proc. I don't know what the mag is for CC.

Quote:Indeed, there is no such thing as Toxic Defense. Only Positional Defense will work versus Toxic.Yeah. toxic attacks should check fire defense since there's no toxic defense type in the game, but instead they just left it blank, so positional is the only defense.
(Originally, there was no Toxic resist either! 'Invulnerable' tanks died from Vahzilok Vomit all the time) -
Quote:1) The -Dam works all the time(which is why it's low compared to the +Dam that comes with Power Siphon)Just a couple quick questions that I can't figure out from the in-game numbers.
1> It looks like the +Acc and +Dam bonuses only apply while Power Siphon is active. Is the -Dam on foes only during Power Siphon, or at all times?
2> What is the crit chance for Concentrated Strike? Is it the same for both Stalkers and Scrappers? On a Stalker, does CS have a higher crit chance when allies are nearby, like their regular attacks do, and does it auto-crit from Hide?
Thanks in advance!
2) I *think* 15%. It will never deal double damage from Criticals, it will only recharge Power Siphon/Build Up. -
Quote:I'd much rather travel suppression was only in PvP.Speed falls under the powers working the same way that they do in PvE, doesn't it? It's an accessibility thing, if you expect your travel powers to work one way so that you can use certain tactics, and in PvP they don't, that's something on the accessibility side of things for people playing PvP.

Quote:Yes, it's a bug. Missions are not supposed to tie to AE doors. So I pulled out a Praetorian (originally) Brute in Talos and got a scanner mission. Stop a bank robbery.
Cool, love those. Short mission, love the bank robbery theme.
It takes me to AE.
It was a normal mission. No ticket drops. But it used the AE mission door.
Anyone else have this happen? -
Quote:More like a soda can into a bucket.I think most slot for defense (either S/L or ranged) and recharge. Slotting for damage is a waste. It would be like peeing into the ocean to increase its water level, considering how much a blaster can already boost his damage.
Damage can make a difference(it bypasses ED), but Recharge helps more overall. If you happen to get some damage in while slotting for recharge isn't a travesty.
Defense is always good for Blasters. -
It does often feel inconsistent.
The ITF often drops a LOT of shards, yet one of my scrappers never gains more than 3 running it.
