Reading the situation up and down, it just sounds like horrible RPing and it also sounds like a personal attack when taken at face value. I've run into situations where people claim they're RPing under the pretense of attacking you personally. There's always that line. And unless the character is established to be insane, loudmouthed, brash, and an insolent immature child, yeah no.... What I would have done is what you did right here. Though I would also /gignore them if you haven't already.

Though, I do like Spartan's idea. You should've taken the money and ran. But that's the greedy villain/mercenary/rogue inside of me talking.

Recruiting? (quoted from VirtueVerse page) Because we are a place that people know about and come to because they have problems, need a place to stay, live a better life, or just want to be a better hero, people come to us. For that reason, you will never see us advertise our supergroup in-game.

RP-Level: RP-heavy

PvP? We leave PvP to parties involved if they'd like to play things out that way. We do not, of course, require it.

Theme/Concept: The Young Watchers is a halfway home for young people who just need a little help. Wanna be a good hero? Need help controlling your powers? Thrown out and need a place to stay? Want to belong to something bigger? This is the place for you. We tend to lean towards teenagers, but are open to young adults as well.

Activity: We have numerous people on mainly at night and we do a lot of RP. During weekends, it tends to be sporadic during the day but most are still on at night.

Requirements: We require that your character is between the ages of 15 and 25. We are open to bending around this rule, but nothing unreasonable. In-character wise, our group doesn't have the resources to tend to younger kids.

Coalition(s): None yet, but we're always open for building coalitions. Preferrably, groups who focus on the same concepts that we do.

I guess it all boils down to technicalities. If he left to go to space without telling NCSoft and not telling them when he'll be back, then that's pretty much voluntary termination/abandonment. Unfortunately, the jury didn't see it that way. :\

In any case, details would be nice, ya know? Did NCSoft call him? Could he prove that his stock options would have went up in enough time to make up this $28 million dollars?

I have a feeling NCSoft is going to appeal this decision.

I have a slight pet-peeve when people manipulate (I guess is the right word?) with the game's lore.

i.e. a character who ends up being the son/daughter of Manticore/Sister Psyche but no one knows about it

I also have a slight pet peeve with people who are Peacebringers/Warshades but don't RP them as one... But even that's a touchy subject.

In addition, Electric-Knight's post (#2) pretty much summed it up for me. And it made perfect sense to me.

PNY hasn't done me wrong as far as video cards go. So you might want to take this alternative to BFG. XFX is also another good alternative.

Agonus, I'm so sorry you had such a terrible experience like that. Were that me, I would have found some sort of way to get you to enter into our conversation. I really like RPing with strangers. Especially so when they just come up to me and what not.

I would have to agree when someone said something about the good RPers being out and about around 10 pm Eastern. Then again, I guess that's because that's when I login and I normally find something to do. And actually, I believe most come out at around 12 midnight Eastern.

I don't believe Pocket D is as bad as some people make it out to be. I've made a lot of RP friends just from the D itself. Though I'm quite sure that the ERPz and the doucheyness does exist. I guess I just tend to walk away from all of it.

Though, I think the best way to get RP on a regular basis is through an SG that fits your needs and wants. There are tons of them out there so I'm sure you'll find one.
