I have Energy Punch and Bonesmasher on my main Nrg/Nrg and I use them quite a bit. Enemies don't always stick to ranged attacks, y'know.

I can't imagine playing on any other server. Though my brother has long since quit playing City of Heroes, I owe him a debt of gratitude for picking Champion all those years ago.

I think basing server population on the number of people sitting in Atlas doing nothing is somewhat shortsighted. How many people showed up on /search?

On the topic of sound cards...
I recently purchased a new laptop (Gateway p7805u FX) and was looking into sound options. My old laptop came with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS Notebook PCMCIA card, which was nice 'cause it came with a docking cable for hooking up a 5.1 speaker setup. Of course, it too had the crackling/popping problem.
I was looking at Creative's X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook card which has the same docking port and I've gotten really attached to those speakers, but if it'll end up with the same crackling/popping as my other card I'd rather avoid it.
For Christmas I received a Creative X-Fi Notebook (not the aforementioned X-Fi Xtreme) and I think I'm just going to return it and buy a nice headset.
As it stands right now the on-board sound isn't half-bad and I'm leaning towards buying a headset.
Any advice/suggestions? -
Wow. Not a single person thought of a handbasket of Hellions?

What the crap does 'Martyn from Hednesford' know about Cajun cooking?

I think activating either Apocalypse via costume salvage turn-in should be disabled. The Zombocalypse was awesome when it was introduced last year, but between then and now it lost a lot of its luster.

I'm on Oahu as well. I've been on a bit of a hiatus as of late but I'll be playing more during the holidays.

In my family, Christmas doesn't start until Bing Crosby sings "White Christmas".
Other must-have songs include "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney and "Chiron Beta Prime" by Jonathon Coulton. -

I very much prefer Hamidon's current incarnation. The old one was fine for socializing or shouting out random internet memes, but other than that it was boring.

It's a shame that most teams aren't cool enough to make those kinds of screenies feasible.

I like my characters.
I like their powers.
I like their costumes.
I like their names.
Can their powers be copied? Yes.
Can their costumes be copied? Yes.
Ah, but can their names be copied? No!
Names are the only attribute your characters have that can be unique. Everything else can be copied.
I really don't want to see any feature implemented that changes that. -
To me, 100 mil is rich when I first reach that milestone on a character. If I had 100 mil on my main, though, I'd feel poor.

The development team has increased in size a good bit since the end of 2007, but the issues with this latest patch, at least in my experience, seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

Looking at salvage prices today I got a sense of deja vu. A number of pieces of rare salvage have doubled in price and high level uncommons and commons are pretty much worthless. The market looks like it's returning to pre-AE prices, and if this is any indication then purples will follow suit.
However, I'm thinking that purple prices might go even lower than their pre-AE prices. 4XP and SRSLY (the in-game names for the difficulty settings, blue and redside respectively) have opened up farming to a wider group of people, and even non-farmers running missions at level 50 will probably be doing so on settings higher than x1. -
Most speed teams I join are teams where everyone knows the drill. The kinda team where, during an ITF, the leader only has to say "sybils", "cysts", "gens", "towers", "to rom" and we're done in 25 minutes or less. That's what I enjoy. You can get XP from doing regular missions, but TFs are the best source of merits, and I prefer getting them quickly.
That being said, jerks like those the OP teamed with were just that: jerks. A good team leader has a plan and makes sure everyone knows it. Jerks come in all varieties and aren't limited to speed TF teams.
