Strictly as a costume piece of course. A lot I could do with a raptor pack or Goldbricker pack. Oh well.
If they could just do a little love for naturals re: travel powers with this pack, that'd be AWESOME.

Apart from the actual movement itself, and things like idles, wouldn't the flight animations work for any "x attack while swimming" animations?
  3. The whole game is the journey from level 1 to level 50. Doing this in 200 hours of gameplay versus 20 hours of gameplay is the difference between a player staying (and paying monthly fees) 5 months and 5 years.

So, when the devs nerf any kind of exploit that allows for fast advancement, they are protecting their income, and the future of the game.

  8. Kinda wonder if this will be the primary blasts only or if this will be significant to the secondary as well. They could just port the fire buff/debuff they already have of course.

  11. Fire/Eng blaster will be looked at to make his melee match his blasts. Not sure if the blasts will go red, the pom-poms will go orange, or if they'll both turn a different color.

My genie's spells ("radiation" blasts and debuffs) will turn purple-ish. His Leprechaun disguise blasts will stay green, while his fairy disguise's blasts will be both pastel blue and pink (that disguise will also become female as soon as I gt around to some weird science).

You guys can probably blame me for these sets. I specifically asked them to proliferate sets that wouldn't require new animations or VFX, as we're already swamped with supporting power customization. We had to make one new animation for Broadsword Stalkers, but other than that they were able to directly port everything over or at least pull powers and visuals from existing powersets.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That still doesn't explain why Doms got Earth Assault instead of Illusion. I'd think that Illusion would be easier actually.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Animations, not models or particle effects. Illusion needs alot of work to become a viable dominator primary. They'd have a [censored] of a time in the mid teens without enough control to lock anything down, and without enough attacks to build dom fast enough.

    Dear Devs,

As residents of Atlas park, we feel that improvements to the lower level game would have a better effect on the game as a whole by reaching more heroes. Therefore we, as the primary content for low level heroes, feel we could take advantage of the newer content. We want to dual wield pistols and have access to thermal powers. Additionally, some new costumes would be nice.

    Signed,
    The Hellions.

Also, thank you for the AE! Nobody bothers us in the sewers any more!
  14. Sounds cool.

Not all that terribly hard either. The majority of them would just be ripped from other meshes already in game.

The second AE rewards fall below 'normal' rewards, it will become a ghost town populated by a handful of RPers. And, again, the devs want people to be able to level 1-50 inside AE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Better than outside the AE being a ghost town, IMO.

I just want the rewards to be EQUAL. Right now tickets are just too much better than drops, and the lack of any travel time whatsoever makes up for the lack of mission end bonuses. Removing Inf would make up for the ticket/drop disparity.

Or they could just make AE have drops, not sure what the ticket system is for really.

Well they had the technology, so they had to rebuild him...

Would be a waste of tax payers money if they didn't...not to mention when is the chance your going to get to spend Six Million Dollars of taxpayers money on cybernetically enhancing someone...I mean...it only happens once every twenty or so years...

6 mil buys 6 military grade cybernetic limbs on the market last time I checked, so if they bought 4 then they'd have 2 mil left over. Artificial Hearts are cheap though, they're just SOs.

I can't speak for Nethergoat but I'm very anti-farm/anti-PL and I still think a blanket nerf to AE rewards is stupid and will cause people to stop using it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Counterpoint: I do powerlevel, I farm, and some might say I exploit bugs and imbalances to do so. However, I also have an interest in the game staying healthy, and the AE, as it is, is not helping. I do feel the rewards need adjusting.

I'd like to see a solution where maybe 1/8 or so of the population is in the AE at any given time. Basically what this means is that AE needs to be useful for something, but not useful for everything, nor should normal players be punished for using it. As it is you get superior exp (missions are optimized thusly by users) superior infamy/prestige, better "drops" via tickets (which are far more lucrative than merits, which are about right IMO) extremely low risk, and almost total elimination of travel time.

Cutting exp punishes casual players. As casual play is the intended function of the AE, that shouldn't be touched. Exploits need to be fixed, however, and I do consider all boss, lt, or even all minion maps exploits.

I would suggest removing inf/prestige from the AE instead; tickets are enough to keep a character well equipped from 1-50. This would help to curb the use of the AE for farming inf (though tickets->loot->market would still be viable) and hopefully get the 50s out in the game so we can get the markets moving again.

I propose that heroside, we have them in Skyway, Indy, Brickstown, and PI. For the Rogue Isles; Nerva, St. Martial, and Grandville. Then also keep one in the RWZ.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cap needs one, for level-range parity with Skyway and because that's Aeon's hometown. He'd have to put one there! I agree though, St. Martial is a better fit than Nerva. I think Founders Falls makes more sense than IP but I guess giving people a reason to go to IP might make some sense.

I really disagree with the co-op AE being in the RWZ, not only for conceptual reasons (its a WAR ZONE) but also because it limits groups to 35+. Put it in Pocket D were a big video game makes sense. It's got no level entry requirements, getting there is easy, and even though it allows level 1s, most newbies won't be drawn there right off the bat.

And change all MA missions to only offer half the XP of regular game missions. This will stop the farmers and return the MA missions to what they were originally intended for: to tell STORIES.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd prefer to see inf/prestige removed from AE than a reduction in exp earned. A big problem with AE is effective double rewards: you get enough INF to make up for the lack of drops, PLUS you get those tickets. Tickets alone are enough.

Then there's what makes sense: fighting super-realistic training holograms would give you experience, and since AE is a perfect simulation it should give full normal EXP. However, sitting around playing video games isn't going to increase your influence, infamy, or your supergroup's prestige.

A side effect of this: a level 50 would have virtually no reason to farm AE besides tickets. Real World would suddenly become much more profitable. With 50's fighting real world stuff, purples start dropping again, and prices would finally go down.

I'm sorry, but I don't get people like that. Don't they read? Didn't they do the tutorial that explained how contacts work, how enhancements and combining enhancements work, and all that?

If they didn't, then it's on their own heads; the MA has nothing to do with that. The normal content is not hidden. If one does the tutorial, it's all pretty obvious.

There comes a point when personal responsibility and taking the time to actually see what the game does comes into play.

And do we really need yet another thread on this topic? What's wrong with the other "New player experience" thread that is already hashing over just this?

    [/ QUOTE ]

They see the endless broadcasts in Atlas for teams forming and join them. Getting sucked into AE farms where they level fast and have no clue how the game works. ::sigh::

Best solution isn't removing the AE but instead removing it from Atlas, Galaxy, Kings row, Mercy, and Port Oaks. And having the auto contact to the AE bumped up to happen around level 15 - 20. That way those who want to can still make their way to an AE to play but it doesn't automatically suck new players in until they have learned there is more to the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed.

I'm not sure why the AE is in virtually every zone: other new features like the Arenas, Tailors, Markets, Universities, etc are spread out between a few zones. IMO, the AE should be in Cap Au Diable, Nerva, and Grandville redside, and Steel Canyon, Founder's Falls, and Peregrine Island blueside. The cross-faction AE should be in Pocket D, not the War Zone (It's a WAR ZONE!)

This is a new opinion from me, but here it is: AE should offer reduced rewards of some kind. Honestly, there MUST be some kind of middle ground between "Never played for any reason ever" and "All anyone plays ever".
  22. Don't want to be in on the AE hate really, but AE has cut into the supply for these quite a bit.

That's not me hating, that's just how it is.
  23. Almost forgot a villain I'm proud of: Djinn and Juice. He's genie with a mild hip-hop theme (his master used his wishes to become a rap star, then discovered his sick rhyming ability was due to a brain tumor)

He speaks in rhyming iambic pentameter. And yes, I can do that on the fly.
  24. I wonder how this would impact virtual worlds (Second Life, IMVU, There, Etc) where a virtual currency is used as a legitimate part of the game's ability to compensate professional development of content. In said worlds, the source of the currency is itself a Real Money Transaction, where the user pays the game company at a set rate. Developers charge users to access their content, then resell the currency for real money. Without the developers able to do this, the whole business model falls apart.
