Only ever had one real person on my ignore list, and he was barely tangible. The reason? Insulting everyone I know, using /petition as though it were SB and just generally being a bigheaded fool. Thankfully he shifted over to the states so my ignore list is empty now.
I did put some inf seller accounts on there when they were still a persistant nuisance but it's truly devoid of names. -

But I think its safe to say yes, players can expect to see graphical improvements

I guess they were listening after all :P

As our final question, the Ten Ton Hammer team asked Matt what they should be looking for over the next year. According to Miller, 2009 will feature a whole treasure trove of cool new stuff. "Beyond Mission Architect, which is a huge initiative coming in Q1, we have content that I cant talk about yet," he stated. "But I will say that there are things coming, some of which we have been hinting at, or maybe even flat out denying was even possible, for a long time."

Avoid: no....mitigate: yes.
Besides the amount you gain from the patrol xp is very low. A regularly used character would eat it up fairly quickly.
I'd have thought that being able to turn xp off altogether would be a dream come true to some of the folks who dont like the levelling speed. Ahh well guess you cant please everyone.
I'm quite happy with the patrol experience myself, not only is it a pleasing shade of blue, it gives you that extra boost on a character you haven't played for a while. -
In pure conceptual terms it's certainly feasable. I believe that WoW is bringing in so called "phased" situations: where, depending on your actions, certain villages and whatnot can or cant be seen by your avatar. I guess norcal just needs to steal some of their resources and manpower to work it into the engine :P
As for base statues that would be stupendous. We have a hall of fame on the Elfling website, but to immortalise all the reachable 50s in statue form in the base would be beautiful. I /sign both suggestions -
Or is that just what you think nemesis wants you to think...?
-
I had a similar problem when I'd installed the motherboard drivers after the graphics drivers. It had major issues for reasons I can only guess at.
I presume you've erased all traces of driver from your system, scrubbed it clean with DriverCleaner, then reinstalled it all again.
Gah that sounds really patronising, I hope you dont take it like that...it certainly wasn't meant that way.
Do you have the same problem with any other games? -
I'd say that you're being rewarded for sticking with that contact's missions and seeing the task through to the end, and to that I'd say a merit is a viable reward. You dont HAVE to do it, and I dont think you should just be handing Merits out wi11y nilly as that'll make a mockery of the whole system.
At first, when folks are half way through an arc, or (like me) the final click's being saved to get a sneaky merit for completion, it'll seem like you're being rewarded for clicking a contact. Once those loose threads are tied up you'll be onto the whole "sticking the arc through to the end" thing and you'll feel like you earned that reward.
Plus you dont need to team to do your story arcs. Even my empath can solo at the moment, and with multi builds I'll be slicing her personalities up into two distinct builds. She'll be fine facing anything that comes to get her story arc wise
Tis true that everyone will have a different opinion of the merit system, just as everyone has a different opinion on every part of the game.
I'd like to see the whole team get merits, especially if they could implement a system like FFM suggests, but that's the whole point of discourse: to get ideas out about improvements etc. -
Definitely /signed
Would give Viscous something new to play with and finally be useful in teams. -
yep go.hunt.find.badges
Or grab a new alt and bring this one back if you fancy doing some of those higher level tfs again
My 50s get ressurected when they're needed in TFs, Sic is my inf gatherer though he plays the black market for his cash. You could also try out PvP, though it might be worth waiting and getting used to the new system when it's implemented.
Or how about helping out some peeps with their characters: those higher levels are always glorious, and you love playing your character so give em a hand. I dont mean Powerlevelling obviously, but when peeps are 47+ it's always nice to have a 50 on your team to push the experience up a bit and give a better challenge.
Or perhaps take up Roleplaying, I only do Rp with a few peeps from the various Sgs I'm in, and offline with the stories that I write, but it's all valid and good fun. Okay you dont need a 50 to RP but if you've never tried it you never know.
Personally I work on getting that elusive portable workbench accolade when I'm at 50, it makes life infinitely easier for future charactersSic has it, and he exploits it, but I'm working on it with Delph and Booble.
Edit: Gah, beaten by the simplicity of bullet points, curse you evil "time taken to write a post" -
That depends on whether they carry a hammer, and whether that hammer is bigger than a bus (or worse: constructed from a bus)...if these points are true then the subject is allowed to do whatever they fancy.
-
I'd go with giving everyone on the team a merit. Even if it's just the one, cant see why they wouldn't do it, seeing as they already award everyone in the team for a TF.
Then again I think the Merits are going to be one of those things that a few people absolutely crave, but the vast majority of people will just be fine with. For some it will be a hassle to acquire them, and they'll stick to the market and the normal random drops that happen no matter what; plus there's the Chronologist Day job for logging out in Oroborous which will help.
I see it purely as a nifty new dynamic that will slot neatly into normal play.
Though it would be nice if everyone on a team got them :P -
Blue rock definitely, Data is a soothing hue of blue in its unrefined state.
As for the minor data: tis meagre and fairly innocuous information with regards to how many cows you can fit in a field, rather than lecherous or predatory nastiness :P
I blame Yogi Bear for the theft of innocent meaning from words, he's a fiend of the highest order.
*prepares care package for the ailing Miners* -
I've bought it and it shows up under temp powers as the lk100 rocket pack or some such...if you've got it it'll be in there.
-
Not sure about data mining, but I know someone who used to date a miner if that'll help.
I also have some Minor Data if you want it? -
IMDB has the CoH film set for 2010, and is currently "in development" which basically means it's hidden behind their wall of IMDB Pro so I cant see what's happening. I'd be very surprised if it came about to be honest, but you never know.
-
Hehe indeed, and if you fancy a way of countering it you could log off at the debt cap so not only do you have the fun of faceplanting Lusca into submission, you'll log back in with a clear tray to do it all again tomorrow
-
Yep I've been getting both the standard location effect AND the Xp bonus, though it builds up incredibly slowly.
-
True, and at Omega, for instance, there were teams that had it done in less than 2 hours. Okay they were characters built specifically for that event, but the point still stands, they stormed through all the tfs at a rate of knots.
We Elfling folk were pleased to crack it in under 3 hours, we were agog when the rest of the results came in :P -

How do you cope?
Back on track: I'm liking the merit system atm. There are so many options availible already, gotta start saving them up
So I guess the way I'll handle it is that I'll use it to my advantage. -

do what I say, not what I do

A sensible policy for a happier SG...well it works for me
I have enough inf and even more patience to cope with whatever the market throws at me. I always use SOs in whatever configuration I need until I can supercede them with better invention stuff. It's just the sensible way to go :P -
hehe well I dont suddenly want access to racks with 999 spots for invention salvage, that would be insane, but 30 is a little low too. Hey ho I guess we shall see.
As for multi builds thing, the way it's implemented is correct, but I hear it used to be a respec until it stopped the VEATS from getting their branching powers. I could be wrong, but that's why I said about the bug -
Before those shiny rails get lost amidst the implied filth I'll add my vote for more tribal outfits, furry, leather, skimpy....all good.
Okay: back to the filth. -
Having played with it on Test I have to say that I'm loving what I13 brings, so far. I've not tried everything, but it's surprising how quickly the new QoL stuff gets ingrained into your playstyle. I went back to the live server for an appointment with Atta and I actually started to miss all the little bits and bobs, mainly the new way that Badges are sorted and assessed and the Day job rewards...it made me hunger to be back on Test.
As for Merits, I got my first when I completed Kalinda's little arc with my new /pain corrupter okay it was just the one but it's the first step. Personally I like the change to the 'forces...now I can work towards a recipe I need/crave instead of praying for the random factor's clapped out tractor to plough up a decent recipe. Not forgetting the recipes that drop throughout the task which can be quite tasty.
The main gripe I have with the bases is the meagre storage: 30 pieces per rack when they used to hold 999 seems a little tight. I'm not asking for unlimited storage, just a bit more than 30 :P
My other main gripe is with the multi builds, though it's only a niggle and from what I've heard it's due to a bug: When selecting your second build you then have to level up in the traditional way....so for instance with Delph, who's 50, I swapped to his 2nd build and he became a lvl 1. I then had to click the trainer 49 times, selecting and slotting with each new click, till he was up to scratch again. It had that tiny "wow" factor of going from lvl 1 to lvl 50 in a giant swoop of powers and slots, but it'll get very irritating for each higher level character.
Overall I like it so far, there are a whole heap of things I've not tried yet but I'll get around to them. *eats an apple* -
Miss Liberty is cool, but has she finally vanquished the lovely Ghost Widow? Or is the poor woman tired of being strapped into tight PVC and gawped at all day in a hot room :P
Ooh: the first 2000 get the collectors edition CoV boxset...that's a promo and a half. Though I'm still glad I bought it as there is no way in hell I'll be one of the first 2000 peeps through the door :P -
Make that 2: I bought it, and I got it for my Girlfriend too :P
