Had a ball this DXp weekend,
Viscous Elfling: 47 to 50 (at bleeeedin last)
Glide Elfling: 33 to 41
Menacing Moo: 18 to 20
Fade Elfling: 30 to 32
Lime Elfling: 24 to 26
A bumper crop of Elflings this year.....they'll ferment up a treat -
Gah, the forums have merged? When did this happen.....and where's all my stoof?
Gotta remember to leave the strange chemicals where I find them next time.
Hulloooooo American, Australian, and, well, any other culture that's hanging about wondering what on earth's going on, peeps. Overlords we may be, but at least you know where you are in an authoritarian state.....
And for the record I make a point of saying "Toodle Pip", "What Ho" and "Cor Blimey gavna" at least twice a day. -
very shiny, very......erm, shiny.....guess I'm lost for words...what with all the....shiny. I blame DXP for lack of vocabulary.....yeah that'll work
-
I love the Carnies, they're fun to fight and eye catching.
I love the Banished Pantheon too, and always the Totems...mainly because of my 1st 50 having a whale of a time rampaging through them, meaning that whenever I see them it takes me back...all those years ago.....eeeeeee -
Cancelled in 3....I remember that arc. I'm sure I teamed with you and ran through it when you were still polishing it up. If I'm right and it's the one I'm thinking of...*follows link* yep, tis brilliant.
@Twoflower needs an individual Architect to fill with glorious works, I'm sure they'd be able to do it going on what's been published so far. -
My arc started out with 5 stars as all my friends and the people I know (who "get" me :P and thus the arc) tried it...then when the rest of the world go hold of it they dragged it down to 3 stars, where it probably belonged. I went through the bare bones of it the other day and saw a couple of issues with the pacing...the only problem was that I only ever got star ratings: people were marking me 3 stars and not saying why....I'd just like people to tell me what they didn't enjoy so I can actually do something about it.
As such I pulled it....I enjoyed the missions myself, then again they've knidged the Chicken Pull emote so it's broken now...but I think my sense of humour is a little too bizarre for people to get all the incidental stuff.
As such I'm onto deeper horizons....I have about 6 arcs I'm actively working on.....which is a kicker as those 3 slots cant be wasted....ahhh well I'll sort it.
As for Butterfly effect, it's good fun: but I think that one of the problem with the Devs choice stuff is that a lot of them were chosen in Beta and brought over from the test server. In that environment it was only the folks who couldn't wait to play the MA who joined in, there was some good stuff, but nowhere near the sheer volume of cool arcs out there now. If some of those Devs choices were re-assessed they'd maybe fare a little differently.
I hate the 4th wall, it stops me from communicating effectively with my characters....it gets a regular beating from me. -
Hmm I'm loving the intrigue and the speculation.....my own view:
llike anyone cares :P......but for what it's worth I'm hoping the actual slip into the opposite moral standpoint is gradual....kinda like the way you move through good and bad in KOTOR. I'd like to have my characters tinged with a bit of ebil....
As for the bases: make them Co-op.....it'll be a mindmasher but it will solve the problems. In fact how about for the base problem: bringing about a few of these hinted at "uber new base designer" options with the possiblities of adding dungeons and butterflies dependent on mood.
Then again I guess the whole point of going rogue is to turn your back on everything you knew.......I hope you get the option to go rouge too -
lol C.o.X is definitely open to childish humour and I'm thankful that we can still gain such low brow giggles from it
how about:
Be A Loyal Lackey/Sidekick Take On Countless Obstacles.
or more seriously I'd plumb for just C.X mainly because it'll confuse the hell out of newbies, and newbies need confusing: it builds character. -
It is a great little thread with some brilliant suggestions. The only downside is that I now have the thread title running around my head to the tune of "The perfect drug" by NIN...which is quite disturbing...and it wont go away.
As we're going for absolute infinite possiblities here I'd have to go with the destruction of the War Walls. Make it one big persistent city, let me superjump the tram lines from Steel to Talos with no loading screen that would provide a lot of delight. -
Weeeelll, when I hit 50 on my def I went evil and rolled a corrupter. I needed the damage output and the change of scenery so I'd say go for that. Dark/Kin, it was tough going at first but Fulcrum shifted AoEs leave a lot of corpses
Then I rolled a Brute....and she's tremendous fun too.
If you want to stay back from the fight a little maybe a conroller is something to look at, keep you distance and benefit the team with holds and debuffs/buffs. A well played troller is a gift....Actually maybe I'm a bad one to throw any suggestions in as I can enjoy all ATs...but...yeah. -
To be frank I'm quite happy with how it is, about the only thing I'd love would be a powerful base editor that allowed layers, odd pathing, percentage rotation in all planes, size readjustment.....etc
I'd also love the much requested map editor for MA.....apart from that I'm fine with it as it is -
I suspect the hamster is on it's last lag(s).....sorry, couldn't resist.
On topic: the lag has been horrible throughout, I too like to live in quieter zones with access to all that I need, or of course the RWZ, but just leaping through Steel canyon has become a nightmare of lag. I cant imagine what ITF is like with the current UBERlag we're getting, I'll bet it was painful. -
I've been wondering about this myself: I have an arc on my girlfriends computer, I was curious what would happen if I published it on her machine with my account.
As for what to do: I'd do both; let support know what's happening AND grab the files. It's always best to let them know in these situations -
1-50 in a single digit no of hours is not an intended, nor (I used to think) desired part of the game. If it was intended it would have been a feature from the beginning. Sure you could lackey up but you're still a vastly underpowered lowbie with 2 attacks and a lot of hitpoints.
Curse you Scarlet for bringing reason into this....you should know it's not welcome here...:P -
Hmmm good question. An exploit is, effectively, using some facet of whatever system you're exploiting, to provide any form of advantage over that system. Be it a Tax loophole, MTIC fraud, a bot, or a hideously underpowered xp giver....in all these cases the system is being used against itself to further the user's advantage.
Yay: succinct -
If you think this thread is bad you should read the one the US: it was impossible to finish if you actually tried to read the whole thing as the vitriol and scorn just kept piling up on new pages at the end.
This thread's been incredibly civilised Tbh, and I've been reading it avidly.
As for my opinion....meh you cant have it, the point is moot in my eyes as, from what I can glean of the announcement, I wont be effected....wow that sounds stupendously arrogantgo me....*runs*

Removing the mob breaks any 'legitimate' arcs that used the mob. As MA practically is I14 any changes that break a reasonable number of legitimate arcs could be argued to break I14.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, hence me saying: as long as we get them back....I guess this is where better communication comes in. As for saying that breaking a few arcs effectively breaks I14 that's just blowing the whole thing out of proportion.
You remove a mob: people get irritated and some arcs will need correcting, that's litterally all that will happen. The only way to break I14 would be to remove the Architect altogether....something I sincerely hope they never do.
I'd love it if they were able to fix any exploit elegantly in game without effecting some other part of it, but the whole thing seems so interconnected that unfortunately I suspect the only way is to remove it and deal with it seperately. -
OR start a new trend of giant voluminous trousers and crabwalking.....I'd rather have the farmers, at least I can ignore them..:S
-
As solutions go that's spectacularly elegant, you can even blame it on nemesis.
-
[ QUOTE ]
these solutions should not be heavy handed like removing the offending mob
[/ QUOTE ]
Removing the mob is fine if the fix will break the game in some way, as long as we get it back when it's done. -
Best thing to do with your custom groups is make everything you want to use, and chuck em into one large pool. Using that huge pool of bods you can then create little groups which will let you see how much space you use up.
For instance I have an arc that I'm working on which needed some varied lab assistant style creatures to attack. I created every type that I needed and placed the whole lot into a group called "meds" using that group I was able to create little groups "Students" "Teachers" "The Mistress" for every mob type that I needed. If after that I found that "The Mistress" knocked me over my size limit I can cut down one of the groups till she gets used, or find some story based way of not using her without affecting the rest of the mission.
Another thing I'd recommend is spicing up your groups with a couple of standard mob types. It's best to choose groups that cover the whole range of levels like Council, and 5th column...but if you want to use, say: Carnies (and I'm all for that) which start at level 30 you'll be autosidekicking anyone less than 30 and thereby making their lives much tougher. I throw in groups from across the myriad types that cover all the level ranges when I use them. -
I cant see how anyone who's been playing all this time has been wasting their money, they obviously enjoy the game for whatever reason. In an MMO you only really waste your money if you stop enjoying it yet carry on paying, if you do that you're a fool to yourself as there's no reason to be there if you dont like it...note: this is just me speaking into the ether and is not directed at whoever I end up posting beneath. Besides: context is for losers....and people with quicker posting abilities.

Holy Jebus: Psy you just made Calamari the cutest thing on earth.....that's a gift XD
-
Diminishing returns would be a great way to ease some of the farming issues. In fact I'd be happy with them getting rid of Xp from MA missions entirely. If you wanna level you gotta play either the devs choice and deal with diminishing returns (reward folks who make great content, plus give a breath of fresh air to the current slew of missions in the main game) OR play the game through normally.
I dont like the idea of punishing everyone to deal with the few who abuse the system so increased handicap based on overuse would work wonders in my view. -
Then she needs 3 Zones......and a task force...with robots and zombies, and giant laser cannons that fire flaming electronic zombies, and lasers of course.
I guess I'm saying she should get more city space...at least...that's what I started saying...:S
