hey juggs just saw this so thought id respond .

for the most part Advertising bugs me its an additional layer of forum gunk I need to shift through (not a big hassle i'll agree but if you don't let people know that you dislike something then they are liable to assume you like it or want it ) for the most part advertising by players isn't a big deal since theres not really that many folks doing comissions that play the game .

so to me its bearable and honestly I want anyone that plays the game and draws to succeed even if I personally loathe them .

Its harder for me to ignore and irks me alot more when I see advertisements for folks that aren't supporting the game espescially if its scattered through multiple threads .

the way TA has it set up currently though means at least to me its once again bearable as my major concern was seeing a bunch of threads popping up to advertise folks that are not willing to support the game but want my money to help support them .

So with the advertising for outsiders mostly contained to one area (sorta like how a red light district makes it easy to go there or avoid it entirely ) im not nearly as inclined to stress over it .

honestly you'll never see me complain about any thread by a player of City of Heroes looking to build their contacts and get work .

Id imagine this forum is comprised of alot of them ..enough that we had to make actual sticky threads about how to request art and a free art thread to keep people from polluting the art forum with their posts of "Im poor and never had art before could you draw me ?" .

to draw them out is rather easy as well , just put free in the header of a post then see people that never post here otherwise show up as well as folks who never comment on the art or say thankyou for the work involved .

If your doing it selflessly why point it out at every turn unless you want the kudos , I have no fault with you for wanting kudos but don't post how great you are and how selfless you are at the same time ((generally I like to space my great out a week from my selfless and try to keep them seperate ))

if you have done a good turn id imagine it should be its own reward not a bargining chip in the suichi/TA drawing in the snow with yellow liquid filled markers contest

there were a number of things I side stepped due to not disliking you and im sure me and you could caterwaul at each other about them till we were blue in the face , heres my short list

I still harbor a grudge over how long Graver took to be paid and how much brow beating was involved in it .We can of course agree to disagree on the specifics but Id wager im in closer contact with Radey and Graver so obviously have differing oponions then how you might see .

Has no real bearing on the discussion and im not really intrested in getting into the speciffics after the fact espescially since Graver was eventually payed but if your gonna try to toss stones in suichis glass house make sure your both outside and not wearing underwear filled with ants .

I am greatly annoyed over the whole Gil Bates fiasco not really your fault and yeah you got screwed over as well but geesh you along with everyone else were so quick to forgive and forget and bam it happens again sheesh ...gahhhh

The contest fiasco , I don't dislike contests in theory and just for fun contests are kinda cool but the rules seemed to be applied not so even handedly and when that happens its just another thing to fight over ...

I hate advertisements ..........

Suichis a big boy and im not his wet nurse so you two are welcome to go at each other as much as you want , personally I have always been overfond of the homoeroticsm inherent in two men fighting .

Im not sure what me and suichi being friends has to do with my dislike of advertisements which is what i've been posting about ...I can care less about the cancerous forum goers that leech art or the fact that person A is buying from person B

I do care about having to scroll past advertisements for people that aren't even supporting the game .

so you are siding with someone whom gives you money , I can totally respect that . I have no issue with you doing art for cash . more power to you .

I have an issue with advertisements for people not even playing the game and finding them littering the forums ...if you buy art from outside artist A great hoohoo ! post it give a link but don't force me to read that he is giving a sale every few months .

once again its annoying advertising and pandering for realworld dinerio by folks that don't even play the game that sickens me , seeing a extra cancerous stickied thread shilling for these people annoys me but is bearable as long as its not all over the place .

its funny because you seem to also think your oponion is the one and only truth , no one is required to post art here if that was the case then you'd lose the majority of this forum .
nor is posting ones own art a requirement for joining the forum .

I rarely post my art to DA or here (I much like suich have a nice little private gallery I lord over ) nor do I sell art ever ...you'd be hard pressed to find any comission info for me or anyone i've done a comission for though i've done a few trades when the ideas amused me .

I have repeatedly stated that if you can't do a red line crit or aren't posting your own art I'll generally ignore your feedback .

So I guess I am pretty much like suich and honestly if pandering to folks , giving free art to leeches and doing the group hug thing is the only way to be a part of the community I think i'll just keep doing what I enjoy and piddle on your community

((ooh note not all folks that want free art are leeches but theres still alot of em ))



I see it more as another bullet of how this forum has degenerated into the advertisements and fluff forum

You'll have to excuse me for scoffing at your statement that buying art is doing alot for the community ,

I've been drawing and posting here since not long after I joined CoH I enjoy this section of the forumsTrying to turn the art forum into the used car lot section of the newspaper where you can find amazing deals and bargins isn't striking me as a great community builder

Espescially considering how down the mods are on real world transactions , go take a look at the market section were it explicitly outlines this , heck even here we aren't allowed to discuss prices and now someones trying to push the real world transactions issue more out front ...great community builder there .

I come here to post art and view art relating to the City of Heroes MMO , art either made or purchased by folks that actively play the game .

if your not playing the game why should I have to view advertisements while perusing the forums for someone thats not even playing .

and if your friends are getting offended perhaps theres more than a little truth in what suichis saying , im glad you pointed out me and suich are friends as if that somehow invalidates me having an oponion ..its like me pointing out your a comission based artist and your friends list seems to be populated with folks that comission you whom you might not wanna offend .
