With the box version, I get a month of game time, a version of the game with all the patches so far to make reinstallations easier in case my hard drive and backups fail, and a pretty new box to go along with the other City of Heroes boxes I have.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And a savings of five bucks off the booster pack. It's probably the smartest way.

    [ QUOTE ]
EDIT: And where are you seeing this online version? It isn't showing in the online store yet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think I saw a thread that they were flooded with people trying to buy it earlier (but I'm too lazy and old-man brain-addled to remember exactly where). They might have borked the NCStore.
  3. Cool. First time I've heard a non-Freedom player mentioning it. Thanks.
  4. So they do appear if you have them? Hmmmm...I may have to go get them, then.
  5. Number of ambushes WAS limited by map (different ones, different limits) except that defendable objects could also spawn ambushes (fairly heavily exploited on farm maps around). Of course, today's patch made the defendable objects' ambushes count against the ambush caps, but they did raise the max. amount to six.
  6. Heh, trust me, it was certainly idle daydreaming, followed by a mental "No, no, no....don't get ahead of yourself."

And I had a childish giggle because when I was a kid, "Lincoln Log" was a slang phrase for...um, something of a scatological nature.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
My snarkiness must not have come off very well. I know there aren't nearly that many farms, it just seems that that's all anyone broadcasts about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you on Freedom? Because that's about the only place reports like that are coming in from so far.
  8. I haven't checked, but I doubt it yet. The Cyborg pack stuff wasn't in there.

    Invalid Name

The list they're using is far more intrusive than what's allowed in the game, for some reason. I'm hoping it's a bug or an oversight, because it affects ALL the text, not just the names. Silly to not be able to even "say" any of these words.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Anyone else seeing problems with the Zig breakout map? Consistently, whatever objectives I set up in it, several don't spawn.

I really need this map for the arc I'm working on... am I the only one seeing these problems? I filed a /bug report.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you aware that there's a green dot in the back of the Zig map that leads to a short tunnel? Maybe they're in there.
  11. Heh...I had an odd thought yesterday. You know those old school comics where the hero faces his "dark side"? I thought it would be cool if the mission could just copy the whole player character over as the final boss, and you'd have to face yourself.

Not that they'd probably put a lot of work (which it would likely be) in to make that possible, but it struck me as a cute bit.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Select the text in the editor, and right-click on the text you selected. The options will pop up there!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quick note to the OP, if you do that, and no menu comes up (or a different one without those choices), it's a field that doesn't accept those kind of changes (dialogue, for example).
  13. And we're just gettin' started.
  14. I'm pretty sure them eliminating Assassin Strike was entirely intentional. And I'd agree with that. Hide already gives a bonus (except the bugged Ninjitsu, which gives a mega bonus, and even when not in Hide) already. No need to be getting ganked by your own mission.
  15. Wouldn't that still spawn what is in the group? Or are you saying leave it empty (would that work?)?

    Group of Bosses

    3. Same technique with an ambush at 75%...unless you can make one at first damage, I forget (also not a mission goal).
  17. I have also. Someone also told me that auras really suck up the space, as well.
  18. 8-man mission last night where a buddy of mine had pumped ninja MMs with smoke flash as Lts. I thought I was going to lose my mind.
  19. I noticed a lot of folks stuck like that in a big kill-all I did on an 8-team in a mission with a million ambushes. At the time, I just chalked it up to there being about 60 or so of them inside of the space of a square block.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

I haven't "saved my local copy from the published version" yet. Is that an option from inside the local copy or is there a special step to take?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's in the edit. I usually republish, then go back in and do the "save local copy" because if you "save local copy" it doesn't republish and you have to go back in redo all your edits over again.

Unless I'm missing something and there's a way to edit the published copy by somehow uploading the local one? Anyone? I haven't seen anything, but I've been missing a lot of things.
  21. That would spook the bejeezus out of me.
  22. Hmmmm...then changed but not mentioned? That seems odd. At least I know now where the two figures are coming from. Thanks.
  23. Logically, yes. But I've seen so many people stating so surely that the devs were using 4.1 that I want some verification. Are you positive that that's the way the display works or are you assuming? Again, not questioning you, just wanting to be sure since information is mixed (nothing new, of course...)

Maybe I've been living with lawyers too many years.
  24. Yes. Go to your published arc and there will be an Edit button. Just remember to hit the REpublish button. That updates the published arc. If you hit UNpublish, it removes the arc from the server and you lose all ratings.

EDIT: You people make me look like a turtle-speed poster.
