I would disagree with this. The AV/EB message should be in the Description as well as possibly in the contact's message. You don't see the contact's message until you start the TF or are part way through it. Even at level 1 AVs will be a problem and many will want to just avoid the mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem with this is they may or may not be there, because of the settings. If you're soloing on Heroic, then even an EB becomes a regular boss.

Please do mention if your arc is solo friendly or not, and whether it is intended for low or high level characters. Custom group scaling is borked up right now, so this is especially important if you don't use stock critters. I have lost count of the number of missions I have had to cancel due to crazy numbers of orange con custom LTs spawning in arcs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's not broken. Having a ton of lieutenants show up is what happens when the author doesn't put any minions in the custom group. All the minions are replaced by lieutenants.

It can make for fun solo times but a team is going to die, die, die, and die again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It's also a farming technique.

I looked at that pic and immediately tried to pull the angle down and zoom in.

I HATE WHEN I DO THAT WITH SCREENIES!
  4. And it's bugged. It's giving the hide bonus even when they're not in hide.
  5. I think it's a bad idea to compare what people do in regular missions to MA. It's a broad assumption, but I am assuming people are reading FAR more of the stuff in MA than they ordinarily would, because it's mostly new stuff they aren't so familiar with.

I have made a mission in the AE "Spaced Invaders"56856 and it has been reported for "violation of LucasFilm character"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Keep in mind that (if this was in the complaints area) that this is a copy of what was sent to those in charge, not a message from them. They may or may not agree with the complainer. But, given the closeness of some of the names, they might.
  7. Yes. Singletons don't work with Battles or Ambushes. You just get several. Maybe later.

    WANT!
  8. Heh, you posting that just beat me to posting a link to Dictionary.com by only a few minutes.
  9. EDIT: Never mind...I pretty much misinterpreted EVERYTHING you wrote. Nothing to see here but some old embarrassed guy.
  10. Which is correct, and what I was referring to with "mission briefing". You even have the send-off stuff included there.
  11. In addition, I believe the CoV pre-order helmets are there because they became a veteran reward (51 months).
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Clues are easily ignorable if you need to save space.

A souvenir should be fleshed out, in my opinion. Remember, sometimes your souvenir will be the ONLY way that others who are NOT the team leader will be able to read about the story of what they just played(Especially if they don't want to play it again due to length or team-oriented, difficult content).

Make your souvenir tell the details of the story they just ran. It really works great in the long run.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, the mission briefing, the send-off and all the clues are available to the whole team.
  13. Do you not have the Cyborg pack? Because I didn't buy it and I haven't seen anything there.

I did give Willpower to one of my custom mobs, I may remove it and see it that helps.

I may also need to space out the spawns a bit, but I imagine that's probably a matter of picking different maps. Spawns that are simply too close together on solo suddenly morph into one huge spawn when played with a group. I tried my arc with some SG mates last night, and the first room was just absolutely full of enemies. I believe we were looking at 3 different spawns, but there was literally no telling where one left off and the other began. I think my buddies were ready to kill me, despite my pleas that "it's not my fault!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

The first mish in my arc is tiny intended to get just that effect.

I do, however, give warning in the departure text that they're watching and may jump you right off the bat.
  15. **shrugs** Good is so relative. You can try the one in my siggy if you want. People (OK, like a handful) have told me it's fun and funny, but you'd have to be the judge of that for yourself.
  16. Outdoor maps are weird for that. I don't think Escort is currently working, in the same way that when you Rescue Captive in an outdoor map, they just stand there. There's no "door" for them to go to. No idea if this is a bug or if that's just the way it is, sorry.
  17. I think it only applies to the recent Booster Packs, but don't quote me.

Limits tend to increase creativity, not decrease it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. The size limit has been my "editor" as it's been doing a good job of making me tighten up my writing.
  19. It's under Escort, not captive. Subsection "Betrayal". Although I think I saw it mentioned that if you set Captive to "Enemy" they turn on you, but I haven't looked into it to verify that.

Best Buy surprisingly got 10 copies of the Architect Edition in. I bought 2 (1 is for a friend that is wanting to try the game on her Mac) and they had 4 left. I was asking one of the clerks if they stocked the PlayNC Time Cards, and he replied "No, we only stock for WoW and LoTRO because no one plays those other games. I play WoW and that CoH game sucks bad." My response? "Really? Why is it then that a new retail edition of the game was released yesterday, you received 10 copies, and will have only 4 left after I buy these? And since when did WoW ever allow you to create your own missions that ANYONE that plays the game can play? It sucks? I guess that must be why this thing is almost flying off your shelves and all of the WoW space is still jammed full?" One of the other employees overheard this and started laughing at him. She told me "Don't mind him, he's an idiot. The only games he knows anything about are the pre-teen games for the consoles. You know, things like the Barbie games, Nicktoons, the Disney Princess games, stuff like that. We keep him away from the real games because he's too stupid to know what's good and what isn't." She and I shared a laugh as he stormed off toward the console games section again, so all was good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hahaha! You dressed down a Best Buy clerk! Is it possible for something to be full of win and fail at the same time?

Maybe it would be possible to allow people to upload "300KB" of arcs, rather than three arcs of no more than 100KB each.

It would let people have more than three arcs, or arcs larger than 300KB, and yet maintain the same limits that we have now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is an interesting thought. I'm sure it would displease as many as it pleases, but it's something that has potential merit and would be worth investigating, I think.
  22. The Green Fog office is fairly creepy looking. Dunno about "mystical" though.
  23. According to what I've read, "branching missions" like that were discussed in the Beta. So maybe someday.
  24. Heh, I aggroed about three sets of mobs way down the hallway in my own arc.

    DEY CAN SEE MEH!

Did take me by surprise a little.
  25. Other than avoiding stuff that buffs perception like Willpower's Heightened Senses, I don't know of any.
