    Escort Help?

There's been about 20 posts confirming hostages not fleeing and escorts not being able to finish because of various reasons on outdoor maps. I can confirm that it's being reported, anyway.

The reason people care if others farm is because:

    fear

    fear

    fear

    fear

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not meaning to chop the context out of your post, Kits, and I'm not saying anything about you personally, but this is the problem, really. Helluva way to spend one's time, I think.

With the success of MA, will the devs still have the same (or any) incentive to create new story content? Will future issues instead support MA (the game within a game), with everything else being put on the proverbial back burner?

    [/ QUOTE ]

One would hope so, if for no other reason than to prove they're better at it than "us".

    [ QUOTE ]
Aside: if your characters spend all their time playing MArcs, does that mean they've withdrawn from their 'reality' into a world of fantasy and daydream?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Meta-text FTW!
  4. [ QUOTE ]
So where do these "90%" numbers come from?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Like most statistics of that kind, they're being pulled from people's sphincters. It's hyperbole, nothing more.
  5. Is this possibly a recurrence of the "stacking" bug that made dumping 500 wolves into a dumpster so popular back in the day?
  6. Well, you can edit it in the text file stored on your computer. Other than that, in the interface, there isn't a way except delete and remake. Editing the text file for something like that is fairly easy. The way it's laid out, it's pretty obvious what each thing is. Just cut and paste.
  7. I can relate. I appreciated that the people running my arc early on liked it and appreciated the jokes, yadda yadda, but when I traded reviews with another writer on the Stories/Lore board, he had some pretty harsh criticisms about story construction and mechanics of how I'd set up several events. And he was entirely correct.

Now I just need to find the time to fix them.
  8. Not friend nor foe. Not good nor evil. A tool like any other, it depends on how it is used.

How much do you wanna bet your arc was reported by some vindictive jerks who were upset that their actual farm missions kept getting pulled? With all the childishness going on with the ratings, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

An SG mate of mine sat and watched last night as in rapid succession one after the other, in the default board order 5-star missions dropped to 4-stars. I suggested he send in a petition (which he did).
  10. I've been taking notes IN the feedback section sometimes. It doesn't send until you hit the send button.
  11. Updated board info suggests there might be a problem with them having that "one level range for heroes and an entirely different one for villains" bugginess.
  12. The contact in my arc often calls for Valium out of exasperation, but he's a licensed psychiatrist, so he has a prescription.
  13. The blaster powersets have Defiance, it's been noted I'm hoping it's either a bug or something that will be adjusted later.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
These are good points. Not to dismiss them, but as time goes by I think that map will become very common in a "oh spit, not this again" sort of way - because of your good points and what I mentioned above.

Imagine if everything you had to eat was served as a sandwich: turkey sandwich, avacado sandwich, breakfast sausage in a pancake sandwich, etc. Everybody loves sandwiches, right? But after a month of them you might be ready to move on, you know?

(And then there's cake. No one gets tired of cake. But I digress.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hee, people get tired of cake. People get tired of anything. It's an old "truism" that if you own a candy factory, you let your employees eat all they want. After a while...they don't want.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
The Paragonwiki page that makes some suggestions for using the powersets thinks it's wise to avoid EM altogether and I can see why.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hee, probably for the same reason I MADE my main EM. There's not a great deal of energy resistance in this game.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Well, sure... If I just wanted to make her easier, I could turn down her settings. She's supposed to be difficult. I'd even like to set her EM to extreme, but before that I'd have to know if a team could take her down with the hard setting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

**shrugs** There's really only one way to find out, innit?
  17. Pretty tough to give a zero rating accidentally. Not rating doesn't give it a zero, you mostly have to mean to.
  18. Even if they were taken out due to an exploit, I don't think that means "gone forever". It only means until they figure out a way to make the exploit go away. And trust me, this is a player base that you do NOT want to promise anything until you're certain. Heck, they usually can't even give a time frame for issues dropping without fear of half the boards erupting if they don't hit it.

I understand your pain and frustration, but you have to look at it a little from their PoV.
  19. I'm pretty sure the explanations are vague on purpose. If there IS some kind of exploit, I'm pretty sure they don't want our "far too clever for their own good sometimes" player-base figuring out a way to apply it to another group.
  20. I ran my new MA-only toon through his first mish and it was that map. I didn't have any problems with it. But then, I haven't done Striga a million times so I'm not that sensitive to it...yet.
  21. I don't know, but I'll be watching this thread, 'cause that sounds interesting. Might be just someone knowledgeble "hacking" the text file, though, because I'm sure I'd remember if that was an option. Or, as you say, a glitch.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
The reason they only use player powersets is, most likely, because it would be way, way too easy to make mobs that are insanely easy to farm if you could give them just Generic Pistol Attacks or whatever.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think it would work, though, if they made a class that's worth almost nothing. It'd be a flavor thing, not a ticket gathering thing. You ARE correct in that that's probably why it's not there yet, though.
  23. I thought for a moment you wanted to nerf the existing ones, which I would consider bad because one of the good things is that people who want challenges can now have them. It's being misused a lot now, but I figure that that will tone down through more familiarity with the system and feedback.

But, yes, we do need some way to make lower end stuff should we need it, so I do agree.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
My biggest concern is why are there isn't any feedback on lower star ratings?

    [/ QUOTE ]

A combination of pain in the butt griefing and some people living in mortal fear of their global being visible and getting one-starred in return.
