I simply name my "singleton" groups containing one EB/AV for the name of the character. But some might not find that as immersive.
-
Awwww...I'll look, but that doesn't sound good.
-
Hmmm...maybe it's something as simple as you needing to name them less similarly?
Or are these merely example names? -
What a horrible, terrible idea to thrust upon people!
Of course I want to try it! -

Can't I just report lame stories and let the GM decide about that?
Can't I just report mission with baddies that I feel are overkill and abusive?
Why don't we ALL just report EVERY SINGLE mission that we don't like, just to see if the devs will be OK with taking it out?

Actually, you can if you want. -

I actually find the lack of travel rather... immersion breaking. Takes the RPG out of this MMO in some ways, since you're now just holodecking. You aren't a part of the city and saving it, you're just entertaining yourself.

My MA-only toon, Virtual Lad (age 12), is doing just that! He only leaves to train, or go to WW. If anyone happens to fire at him in "the real world" he just runs. His mom wouldn't like him fighting REAL villains! That's DANGEROUS! -

I've always said that the affordable Holodeck would be the end of civilization.
Now excuse me while my character goes to play in the virtual Kiera Knightley/Jessica Alba mission.

Um, what's the number on that one? No reason. Really. Just idle curiosity. Honest. -

This whole game is farming. Doesn't matter what you are doing. AFK - farming for time logged on. Logged out - farming for dayjobs/patrol badge. Getting XP - FARMING!
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it's not. "Farming" is repeatedly doing the same mission/TF/"thingie" specifically because of some specific reward (whether it's good XP, certain badges, what have you). It's not "anything that gives you some kind of reward is farming". You're simply wrong here in your definition. There's nothing WRONG with doing it, but "everything" isn't farming. -
He's in his own group all by himself. I can't remember the name but I think it's "Tyrant's [something]".

It should be possible to edit the .storyarc files stored in the mission folder of the CoH directory.
It'd be an extremely fast way to edit spelling errors.
What does everyone think? Of course if you add content you haven't unlocked yet, or that isn't in the MA interface you'll get an error and need to change the bits as needed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, that's how I spellcheck.
Just keep in mind that that's only your local copy, and it doesn't work to edit already published arcs (because those are on CoX's servers, not on your computer). -
Yeah. I figured that might have happened. So, yes, /signed twice.
-
Sadly, "exploit farming" and "farming" as terms seem to have collided (and I've been trying not to do it myself, but I see I slipped up a couple of times up there). Yes, I'm fully in favor of people farming if they want, but the exploits will get your arc pulled if they're there.
And I do believe we have heard from Posi, before I14 was even released (see Barata's post above), plus the Release notes staying exploit arcs will be pulled. -
Yeah. My problem was editing my existing arc. I had a lot of cut and pasting and my comp is weak and doesn't work well with other windows open. So I was "republishing" after every paste, and then going back into the edit. I didn't notice until later that it wasn't updating quickly enough, and I was ending up pasting something and saving, where the previous paste hadn't taken yet, so I was saving what I'd edited away previously. I spent about an hour doing that before I noticed it. **cries**

You can have more than one arc Dev Choiced, if they choose.
-
Sorry, but I see you making these arguments but all I'm hearing is "I'd like to make as close to a farm as I possibly can without getting in trouble."
But then, I'm old and my hearing isn't that great. Maybe you're just championing a principle, which I can understand. Bottom line, I think "know it when you see it" actually works here, and you don't. Guess we just disagree. -
See? You're rules lawyering already, even without the rules being explicit.

Fix't.
After all, why hide your light when you are so obviously better than everyone else different from you?
Here's a different thought though - everyone who *thinks* their mission is STORY based should feel free to use the tag, even if not approved by this guy?
Unless differences of opinion are VERBOTEN.

**shrugs** Take your chances. You should know if it's an exploit farm or not, if you made it. Twoflower DID say "blatant". -
Specific guidelines on this will only lead to rules lawyering. You know what an exploit farm is and so do they. Nobody "accidentally" makes an exploit farm.
EDIT: I see Barata beat me to it. -
Clint Eastwood says you should get off his lawn.
-
I believe so. I think it even counts when YOU do your own, whereas you can't rate your own, so I think they're handled separately. That's my theory, anyway.
-
"Hello, GM? Yeah, another darned Outcast stuck in the ceiling. Come a runnin'."
-
Also part of the problem is you have to realize that the MA server isn't all that responsive (or maybe it's just the load it's under). Make your edits and WAIT a few (maybe even five) minutes. It doesn't update immediately sometimes. It takes a bit. I ran into some hassles with that myself yesterday, but it all worked out when I slowed down.
-
I've also brought it up in our SG's chat last night, and I'll continue to mention it. If we're gonna work viral, let's work viral.
EDIT: Also JUST started a thread about it on my SG's boards. We have well over 200 members, so that should get the word out a little more. -
Thanks Doc! I almost responded exactly the same to that, but had a heck of a time finding the posts and "Posi already said" seemed a bit weak without the citation.
