  1. Hee, that is funny.

But what's happened is some kind of unsupported HTML is in your description. Go back in, highlight it, copy it, and erase it, then paste it back in. Sometimes that gets rid of "invisible" tags. I can't remember, but I don't think you can have any HTML in the description at all, can you? If you have some, try taking it out. If none of that works, go into the file on your computer and look in the description section for  , which is HTML for "space" and can screw things up, too. Remove those, if you see them.
  2. I'm not sure if that's right. It may only count the first for TICKETS, but I'm not sure about the rating. I thought you could go back and rerate things. Is there a time frame allotted or something?

The mission layout goes boss A, boss B, Hostage, AV/EB spawn, ambush spawn at 1/3 AV HP. The chain works to have boss B spawn the hostage and the hostage spawn the AV and the AV spawn his "help me out here" ambush. I get the circular dependency error when I tie the boss B spawn to boss A.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If they are indeed in that order, it should work. Try removing all the dependencies and redoing them starting with Boss A (if you haven't already). Boss A IS the initial goal, with no dependency at all, right? Otherwise, I haven't a clue.

And...1/3? There's a 1/3? Have I been lazily misreading that as 1/4? The ones I remember seeing were "first hitpoint damage" 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and defeated.

EDIT: Confirmed that there is no 1/3 (also no "first hitpoint". Was confusing that with the text triggers). But still, that shouldn't affect the dependencies before it. I looked up the maps and they show that everything you have in there is well within the parameters. Huh.
  4. You have to look at the specs next to the map. What you've done is included more things of specific types than the map allows. Your choices will be to remove some of the events or find a map that allows what you're doing.
  5. I'm not sure. Are you making sure the "required" radio button is clicked to on for all of them? If you're creating them in the order you want them to happen, you shouldn't be getting that error. My arc was like that, until I changed it because it made my particular story a bit obtuse, and it worked exactly right. Are two boss events allowed on that map? Are the placements allowed as you described according to the map specs?

I started thinking that at first too, Dec. But after seeing how many folks here on the forums jumped on the bandwagon, it started to sound more reliable.

In the least, the people here on the forum and on the wiki now have a tool to work with, to help them find arcs they may be more interested in, or even that suit their level range.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think that's where my disconnect comes from. Initially, it was to virally spread a tag to let people avoid the plethora of farms out there. It wasn't FOR "us". It wasn't for the people who come to the forums. It wasn't for the people who go to the Wiki. Those are both very small minorities of the game. It was for the general populace.

Now, I can't help but see it as something promoting insularity. If you're not one of the "in the know", you're left out, thinking "WTF".

Yeah, it's nice for the "in the know"s to have a bit better toolbox to work with, but I think the original idea has been fairly obliterated in the typical nerdy obsession with minutiae that's inevitable (and I'm not pointing fingers, I'm OFTEN very much as guilty of that kind of thing as the next guy/gal).

I just think a nice idea for the general populace has morphed into something for "us". And that concerns me. Still, I guess we'll have to see how things actually pan out.
  7. I think a nice suggestion for the future might be to not have the defeated side fade like normal. It came to mind when someone else was asking how to leave a lot of defeated bodies laying around.
  8. Am I getting this right? What I'm seeing is that you CAN publish these IGOR files as long as you don't open them in the game? Wouldn't that mean you could never ever edit them at all?
  9. Wouldn't get the results they want, though. They're motivated enough for that. I will admit it would probably cut down on SOME of it, though.

I've got to personally agree with the "Remove AE from Atlas" group, here.

I just started a new toon. I went to Atlas. And found it crowded as all heck. Calls for Farms blaring across Broadcast, when people weren't getting into arguments, or laughing at the poor sod asking if there were any Sewer Teams forming.

The traffic was so bad that I was rubberbanding so much it took me more than three minutes to move 200 feet.

And this is on Victory. Not one of the major populated servers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was there, this afternoon (despite my asking my teammates not to do it there). For hours (approximately noon to three EDT). Yup, it was crowded. It was a bit laggy. But my experience was nowhere near as bad as you say yours was. Not that I'm saying you're lying, but that even my weak machine was doing fine. Maybe your machine is weaker than mine. Maybe it was a different time of day. Maybe your machine has an issue that mine doesn't.

I didn't see any more spam going on in Broadcast than I'd usually see for sewer teams. What I DID see was several people inside the building being complete jerks in local to everyone there (the usual trolly stuff..."Ur costumes all suck! U have stupid names!" etc), but I suppose if you get enough people in one spot, those are going to come out.

Atlas is convenient for this because of the presence of WW and portals from Ouroborous. I think this is why you'll have a VERY hard time convincing the Devs to move it. They want it visible. They want you to use it. Therefore, they're not going to put the tutorial in a "backwater" like Galaxy. And if they did, don't you think the next complaint would be about spam in KR? The farmers are always going to go to the lowest common area where there are people.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    /em sigh

Just make the MA building it's own zone. Boom, no more broadcast spamming outside of the building.

Or just remove the ability to send a broadcast outside of the building. Same effect and probably easier to add.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So...you don't think they'd just stand out front and spam?
  12. I have chased a REQUIRED boss down to the elevator and to the door and had him escape to fail the mission, too. But inconsistency isn't unusual in this system still holding bugs.

while a very erratic topic, i do agree that maybe the AE building should be removed from AP. this will give the new to the game players a chance of actually seeing what the game is about. everyone else who has been around a while knows how to navigate the higher lv zones without getting killed. red side has actually taken this into consideration( if you look at it that way) as to put the AE building on the opposite side of mercy from where you start vs the blue side which has the AE building right there as soon as you zone in. bad idea. and i know kind of a lame argument for it but maybe this will spark somemore usefull ideas or actually get people thinking about taking their 50's to another zone with their friends of all different lv ranges and leave the "new to the game" palyers to experience part of the game before getting to lv 50 and not knowing what to do.

Seems to me to be a bit like killing flies with a sledgehammer. I'm not sure what's unfunctionable about "report exploits, let the Powers That Be take care of it".

and to answer the earlier question about what a meow farm is. Its a comm officer farm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Like the Rikti doll ones? I thought those got nerfed (or was that a different Rikti?). If it hasn't, I'd be certain they'll get to it.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I don't think there's anything wrong with having a large number of tags. The purpose of a tag is to make it easier to find what you're looking for. Sure, the first thing we were interested in was arcs that were about story, but why not be make it easier for people to find stories by genre or challange level or having a team if that's what you're looking for?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because the simple existence of the tags isn't enough. People have to know what they mean. And if there's a million of them, a lot of folks will just look, see it's a lot, and go "meh, I'm not reading all that" (if, indeed, they look at all and don't just think "what are all these different letters? I dunno, guess I'll skip it). It was easier to get spread around when it was just one. I like Twoflower's "primary" idea, though.

Pretty sure you're not wanting this to be a "cliquey" thing, right? Widespread is what's called for.
  16. That certainly would make sense. I just don't want to see this good idea get away from us here and get bogged down in detail.

I think we also need to remember that the vast majority of the player base NEVER goes to the forums and rarely goes to the Wiki.
  17. It may just be me, but anyone else think this is getting a bit out of hand? I mean, the idea was to have a simple tag to differentiate stories from farms, right? And to virally spread the idea to people who wouldn't know what the tag meant, right? Now you have forty-eleven tags that people won't know what they mean nor will they want to delve into learning them all. I kind of think y'all are ^%$#ing in your own hat here.
  18. I don't understand how anyone can say "the market is broken" anyway. The market is the market. Just because it CHANGED doesn't mean it's broken. Supply, demand. These things aren't constants. Just because something costs more or less doesn't mean it's broken. It just means things have changed. A market like this is in a constant state of flux. That's pretty much how it's designed. Otherwise, you'd just have stores with constant prices. Move with the market. Don't stand still and complain that it's moved.

And I keep seeing the term "Meow Farm". What the heck does that mean?
  19. [ QUOTE ]
As i said, i enjoy lvl as effective as i can, however, i also enjoy a challange, and ill admit am lazy.
This combination of factors makes me, and i guess a few others, vunrable to these kinds of things. Vunrable in way that it makes other things to do feel like "less fun".

Your comment of me being away for four years is 100% valid. Yes i dont know enough from Coh to enjoy al its challenge's beceaus i simply dont know them.

But atm for me, and me being a new player. There is no reason to embrace those challenge's beceaus im not yet end game yet at 43, and there is nothing faster or more rewarding then these meow missions on the moment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, CoX isn't like most MMO's. There's no reason to hurry to 50. There's only a few things to do once you get there. There really isn't any "end game". It's not like many, where getting to the top level is where it "starts". CoX isn't about the goal, it's about the journey. But if you want to hurry, that's your call.
  20. Custom characters are always 1-54. To restrict it, you have to add a mob that IS level restricted, from the "regular" game.

EDIT: Doh! Yes, pointed out later in the thread...to the mission, not the group.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
There is simply no effective reason to play anthing besides Meow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For you, you mean. There are many and varied reasons people play this game and many manners in which to play. "Effective" is in the eye of the beholder.
  22. Aaaaaaalaston, I know those clothes are killing yooooou...
  23. [ QUOTE ]
People recruit for AE farms everywhere on Freedom

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Fixed that for you.
  24. It works well, except that sometimes they don't attack until attacked (which I assume is bugginess, rather than intended, as sometimes they do go right after you).
  25. Actually, you can make "close enough" children, but it's a LOT easier with the boys. The girls still have breasts, no matter how small you make them, so they'd have to be at least 12 or so. Children have large heads (there's even a setting for it under "Head/Shape/Youthful") with one of the "Young Faces", and all the body-sliders down to nothing except waist, which should be at max. Helps if you use "smooth tights", too, to smooth out the over-muscling.

For example, here's Mighty Moppet (I figure about 9 years old) and Headlong (about 13-14...just with long legs because he's a speedster). Unfortunately, this is about as good as it gets for the young ladies. Li'l Devil, although helpful would be using the "Baggy"shirts.
