Well, that's what open beta is for, sort of.

Sorry, should have been more specific. That was aimed at G-Man's comment.

And one must also remember Bill Cosby's theory that being a teen-ager makes you brain-damaged.
It's the hormones in the hamburgers, I tell ya! But some grow out of it. -
Quote:But it's Durakken! You're supposed to read what he means, not what he says!
Ironblade didn't know the rule?:
And I think that statement is wrong. But neither of us actually KNOWS.
Yeah, sorry, Dur, but you're never gonna live that one down. -
Quote:Yes, people do that, and always have.
Felderburg states the obvious:
Fixed that. -
Haven't we had a few ex-GameStop employees mention somewhere that if the date is 1 or 2 that it means they don't have an actual date and are just using that as a place holder?

Quote:It's DP, isn't it?
Aggelakis floats an abbreviation:
After all, there's DP and DP and DP, and one of those is not fit for discussion on a kid-friendly forum.
I KNEW it! -

In my area, it's pretty much like sticking your hand in a bucket of skittles to find the right color.
Here's what I mean: In a specific area where I work, the teens are generally well behaved. Especially compared to other areas I've been in. While some might feel entitled, most of the kids are pretty self policed.
Now on the other hand, things get way more fun when you get one of those cases of self entitled, cynicle old folk. Just the other day I was waiting in line at a Sprint Customer Service and Repair Center. Some scary looking older woman walked in, wasn't even in the line for three minutes when she barged over to the back of the room and started giving the employees crap about how they weren't doing their job! They just laughed it off (When she wasn't looking).
The employees may have been short staffed, but they were doing their job and working hard with the tasks they were given.
Oh, sure, in no way is it restricted to the teens. And, yup, sounds like you work with a bunch of people like me, that don't take that stuff. But there's enough out there who will that keeps them trying, even when it doesn't work.
Heck, just tonight at a gas station/convenience store I stop at on the way to work, some guy three deep in line waved a can of pop at the clerk and literally threw a dollar at him. The clerk said "Hey, I have to scan that, you know, please just wait your turn." But I'm sure the motarded customer had had enough people just take the dollar that he figured he could get away with it. -
Possibly caught in a name rule change or something? I know they switched up the character names rules on me once. I once had a character that was called LX, but ended up deleting him. Recreated him a couple of years later only to find that two letter names were no longer allowed, so I had to name him LX II (which I actually worked into his background). I dunno, just spitballing.

Well, like Sam said, the scaler is actually "right" (more or less) compared to the environment. It's the NPCs that are huge. They're the only thing really needs fixing. Probably won't happen though, unless they get a big gap in "priority" work.

My philosophy is "If you don't like Masters runs, don't do them." But, yeah, if they don't tell you, that's them being an idiot. I'd quit at the first opportunity, if I didn't want to be there (nicely...."Oh, didn't know this was a Master run. I'd better bow out, sorry.").

Quote:No more crass than also off-topically calling him out on it.
Garuta needs a mirror:
True enough, but there is a time and a place for everything. In your example, you personally knew the person you were correcting. In Camper's case, he felt the need to come in and correct a complete stranger's grammar after their question was answered and the thread was effectively concluded. Sounds a little crass, doesn't it? -
While they're not going to go out of their way to stop you from non-exploit (intended or not) farming, I don't think they're going to go out of their way to enable it, either.

Samuel_Tow can't see it:
But what I mean is I just don't get it. What possesses a person to have that kind of "GIMME!" mentality?
Quote:How can a person like that function in civilised society?
Quote:Is it the spoiled brat of some rich businessman who threatens to fire everyone who back-talks his kid?
Quote:Because that kind of attitude just doesn't get you anywhere, and is actually liable to get you backhanded on more than a few occasions. -
Quote:Probably a misguided attempt to make that an average super-hero as opposed to an average human. Average height in the U.S. is only a hair over 5' 9" for males and a bit over 5' 4" for females, but super-heroes are traditionally "larger than life". In American comics, they're generally drawn out of proportion to their heads as well. I believe it's 7 3/4 heads as opposed to the real 6 1/2 or so (I may be off a little on the numbers, but suffice it to say super-heroes are "stretched" vertically somewhat more than humans).
Samuel_Tow wonders:
And why does the male slider default to 6'5'', anyway? -
Quote:I prefer to do the opposite, myself. I go by the character's height number and just handwave the rest as a probably necessary game discrepancy. But, that is also just a workaround. I do this because when I'm designing the characters, the height factor is one of the criticals to me (because it often determines how big I make a head, torso, legs, etc.) and I don't have the game scale to reference.
StormSurvivor has one method:
I agree with Samuel that a good workaround is to ignore the height chart entirely, but that's what I feel is the issue: it's a workaround.
And the "peds" thing is just Sam's ESL kicking in. I've never anywhere heard anyone refer to pedophiles as "peds". -

It still kills me that after this game being around for six years and as flexible as it is, people still can't let go of the last vestiges of that "Holy Trinity" mindset.
-
It's about a 3/10, but people should be informed of proper terminology. I used to have a roommate's girlfriend that complained that we corrected her on stuff, until we explained that we were correcting her so she wouldn't appear to be stupid to others.

Pretty sure if that was a wild fox, the picture would just be a big blur of teeth and fur.

One would think. But then again, it could sit there forever with just one member that never logs in any more.
I think. I know I joined one SG just after starting the game (before I knew what I was doing) and found much much later that I was the only one left in that SG, not having logged in that character for almost a year. -
I start slotting IO sets as soon as they're availabe (level 15, IIRC). I like the extra boosts for my lowbies, and when I respec later, many of them bring in quite a bit of cash when I go to sell them.
