I'm always running low-end computers barely (and sometimes not quite) up to minimum specs and I can't say I've ever noticed any lag from the floating indicators from buffs and insps. A million other things, sure, but not that.

Quote:I don't know why they would when they've already got them in a new thread over here.
Myster_Hero wants double posting:
Will they show the Q&A results in this topic? I know they are starting right now!
EDIT: Ah, I see. The question was asked when that thread has just been posted. -
The game treats buffs and debuffs as the same thing, just with opposite leaning numbers. So if you make buffs cancellable, you make debuffs cancellable and that's never gonna happen.
-
And I, for one, much prefer the "running backwards" on the regular run. The turn-around run on Ninja Run is almost comical.
-
You want to be virtually untouchable AND be able to attack? Sorry, way out of balance.

Quote:Oh, OK, there are cars (or some sort of transport), just not privately owned. I may get my lightshow after all!
Golden Girl clarfies:
It was said at Hero Con - there are no private cars - the Clockwork take care of Praetoria's transport needs. -
Quote:I would guess far more people know about 4chan than Slashdot merely because hives of scum and villainy tend to get more notice.
tanstaafl goes there:
I'd say slashdot is as well known as 4chan, that is well known by the people who frequent it and yet another internet meme that might be known a little bit to everyone else. -
Quote:You're being ridiculous, now. Of course it's possible. Hell, it's even probable. So what that news agencies have mentioned them? They mention millions of things a year. Not everything sticks, not everyone sees them. Slashdot is a niche thing that you can't expect EVERYONE to have heard of. It's a freakin' website, one out of MILLIONS out there. It becomes especially unnoticeable if you simply don't give a rat's butt about such things.
je_saist thinks we're all dumb:
Keep telling yourself that.
The analogy sticks.
There just ain't no way that anybody could have been on the Internet for 5 years (forum join date 2005) and NOT have heard of Slashdot. Not when New York Times has mentioned them. Not when Fox News has mentioned them. Not when CNN has mentioned them. Not when CBS, NBC, ABC, Reuters, and the Associated Press have mentioned them.
You would have to have your head buried in a lump of concrete to have been on the web for that long and never have at least HEARD somebody refer to Slashdot. -
Quote:**shrugs** Perfectly fine with me. Of course, the Veruca Salts out there are going to want to be able to create any AT anywhere all the time, but that's standard MO.
Steelclaw wants opinions:
Okay, then use that as the current base line if that's the way it works...
... but is that the way you WANT it to be? -
I had something similar happen to me. In the two years between me deleting a character and recreating him, we lost the ability to have two letter names, so my LX had to become LX II.
-
I can never tell. Everything she says is stated as irrefutable fact.

Quote:You were on the right track. Hell, spiders don't even have bones.
Ironblade is almost there:
They have very flexible bones and can squeeze through a gap of one quarter inch.... oh, wait... that's mice.
I dunno. -
Quote:Well, we don't have that in this game, because it's DUMB!
Starjammer has more than meets the eye:
If a 50-foot robot can transform into an actual-scale handgun or tape recorder just by refolding its body parts, a Toxic Tarantula can get through a door.
Always hated the Transformers, but then I was too old for the target demographic anyway. -
Quote:I'm not sure what either of you are saying. Are you saying it's too spammy to use in the Team chat or when you're looking for a team? I can't see using that bind at all in team chat, and have no clue as to why it would be "spammy" elsewhere.
Robot confuses me:
You know what? you're right, including my toon name is kinda spammy for teaming purposes. -
Sidebar worth noting...you can get into RWZ at level 1 now, and if you're trying for the day job, the bar will fill up. Unfortunately, once the bar is filled it doesn't complete. You have to hit 35 for that. I think that may be the only one like that, but I'm not sure.

Quote:And where did this info come from? I was so looking forward to the streets being all lit up like the Ginza like in that concept art.
Golden Girl pulls another one out of her...hat:
Don't forget that no one's allowed to own their own car in Praetoria - I don't think there'll be that muich traffic on the roads. -
I wouldn't use it, but I can see possibilities of it being a decent seller.

The use is that on the Globals, only your global name appears. People put in the current character, their level, AT and other stuff in a bind that shows when they post so people can know what they're actually on. This is just adding to that info that's frequently used. It's adding "Where" to "Who" and "What" that's already being used.
-
Is there a $zone or something like that? That might be even more useful than $side in the coming days.
-
Quote:The Globals are cross faction and one can reasonably assume they will be with Praetoria as well. Our SG uses one as our main SG channel (we haven't used the "real" SG channel in quite a while) to keep everyone on both sides in contact.
Soulwind is mistaken:
I'm not certain what the use for it would be though.
Even after GR, broadcast / global channels won't cross from Paragon City to Rogue Isles to Praetoria, and you couldn't team or anything even if it did. -
Quote:Oh, and now that you know where the train is, here's my advice. Go tag the Galaxy City contact but don't take the mission. Turn around, go back to the train and go to Kings Row. When you enter, there should be a Police contact listed as your waypoint (if not, he should be in your contact list). Go to him and he will give you access to the police radio (it will appear at the top of your contacts). Do three missions from the radio and return to the police contact. He will give you a SafeGuard mission where your goal is to stop a bank robbery. When you get into the mission, the bank will be marked with a $. Get there as quickly as possible and stop the robbery. If you do, you will receive a free jetpack called the Raptor Pack that you can use for 2 hours of actual "on" time (timer stops when you shut it off). A very valuable and helpful tool for lowbies.
Makikouz needs something to do:
Soo, i just got onto lv5 and ran out missions on Atlas City (Susie Davis) as a hero, she referred me to a contact in Galaxy City (cant remember her name) but i have no idea how to get there unless you go through Perez Park, but thats way too high level for me... Help is appreciated.
SafeGuards containing other special powers and tools are available the same way (sometimes you have to do more than 3 radios) every five levels, but this is the most useful/important one. -
Heh, it's common. Unless they get told beforehand, it's a mistake a LOT of us have made.

And agreed on the 30 auras. They're all way too big, not a subtle one in the bunch. Even the Kheldian eye glows are subtler than those (which I also wouldn't mind seeing added to regular costumes and/or auras).
