I kept a spreadsheet. If I have one fault, it's honesty.
Much like my character, I am a gambling man. If people will bet on it, I'll run the books. I tried setting up odds on which of the Freedom Phalanx would die, but no one seemed interested in that. -
I do this a ton. I have at least four versions of Dechs, four of my sandy brute, three of my sandy tank, and two or three versions of Andre.

Do you not remember making the bet?

Quote:Standard code rant. Why won't they just let is customize Pool Powers already!?! The biggest objection to a power that most people find extremely useful (if not crucial for some builds, like Regen), is that they don't like the animation. That should be an easily-fixed problem.
Look, I'm with you. I don't like the graphic much either. You still shouldn't dare tell someone else how easy their job is. Especially if you are completely ignorant of the details. -
I tend to avoid the power, as most people here have mentioned. Unless I'm trying to perma something, hasten rarely has a large benefit.

Quote:I agree with just about everything you said, except this very last part I bolded.Might be a little slow building fury at very early levels ( Up to 20 at the absolute highest ), but that changes quickly. It doesn't really make a big difference at those early levels anyway.
Half a fury bar is 100% damage buff, which is more than three SOs. At level 20, you can't even have SOs. Fury is what makes brutes so potent at low levels, before the damage modifiers really take effect. Even "slow fury builders" will benefit greatly from it. -

Championship Matchup
#4 Los Gatos Bastardos (Clockwork 01) 191
#3 St. Martial Pai Gow (Alpha Wolf) 199
I ended up paying out 450m to these two players, plus their original bets. I took in 3.8 billion in bets from a number of players, though, so the real winner here is, as usual, the guy playing the books.
Then again, I took a huge risk. Had Positron or Friend of the Studio won, I'd have had to find between 6 and 12 billion of my own funds to pay off the proper people. The long odds did their job of attracting bets, but they did set me up for a pretty big fall if luck hadn't been on my side.
Enjoy your winnings ant thanks for playing, folks! -

Quote:Quote to emphasize. If you think its hard to get one thing changed in an existing game, try getting everything you want simultaneously in a game that's coming up from scratch.
It was somewhat amusing, and somewhat sad, to see people actually think that was possible during the CO beta period. The discussions about what was possible with a blank slate was truly something I wish I could have preserved and studied over time. I can tell you the disappointment from pre-pre-pre-beta through beta was large enough to have its own gravitational field.
As I recall you had high hopes for CO given what you thought you knew about Jack's views on various things. How'd that work out for you?
Ladies, gentlemen, and Johnny, you don't see this kind of wisdom every day. -
I'd suggest just coming up with two builds and throwing them in one of the survival analysis tools that are out there. You can find mine on my blog in the "Guides and Builds" tab, but there are others out there.

Quote:Thanks. I don't know what it is about the arm bands that I like so much. Purple and black are the main themes, but its the bit of blue that makes it all pop. No costume should be just two colors, in my opinion.Re: Dechs Kaison
That's really cool! I always like the baggy pants in boots look, but combined with the arm band shoulder parts it really brings it all together. And combined with the coat in the second picture, Curse is an intimidating Warshade indeed! He certainly makes the purple and black look really, really good!
I'm glad he comes across as intimidating. He should, being the first MFing Warshade and all that. -
Alright, let me see if I've got a few pictures of Curse.
He's got the two basic costumes and a few variations on them. The first one was just what I rolled out of the costume creator with, and the second is a more mystic look for an SG I run with. I also have a black suit with purple pinstripes.
It's all about the MFing Purple. -

Quote:Endurance cost and recharge.Power Blast, the single-target attack from the set, does about as much damage as Energy Torrent, the cone. What reason could I possibly have to want to take that?
Pretty feasable. Usually, I take Epic attacks for their utility and I don't take the normal ones. If I did take the normal ones, it would be for the damage, but the damage is exactly why I don't take them. -
Thank you, Stone. I would return the gesture, really, but right now, I'm on the carpet.
-
I'd love to be able to dance on the carpet. Or airguitar. Or just yoga.
That's it. -
I'm with Z-man. What you want is a bots/traps. Henchmen are all but immune to the AV powers, and bodyguard still resists unresistable damage, and they all get extra level shifts. Tankerminding never felt so good.

Quote:I would just like to echo this. Loudly.I would NOT use Group Fly in a team setting. Regardless of the penalties being removed and you even having a macro that will post this in the chat for everyone to see, it will still upset people and probably get you kicked from teams. I would imagine that is the last thing you want to do with a mastermind. Many people already have negative feelings about the use or value of masterminds compounding Group Fly onto that will not help your cause.
There are a great many powers that can't be used if you're not on the ground. There's also the absolute loss of control people will feel with you toggling that on.
My favorite travel power for an MM is Teleport, hands down. You can port past your minions that block doors. You can port fast enough that they don't get to walk across the ground. You can also Teamport all your henchmen around. Nothing says PWN'D like a surprise army. -
Because you'd much rather use that sixth slot for something useful, not a damage/range enhancement.
It's not always about how many slots to devote to the power, it's about how much you get from those slots. The fact is that the enhancement values in Posi's Blast are poor. -
Stone has offered nothing but solid advice, and has been met with open hostility. If you didn't want differing opinions, you shouldn't have posted the build. If you can't at least be civil, please go away.

Every once in a while, a powerset combo will spark an idea, but otherwise it's always concept first for me.
