Even though mine is a tri-form guide, I do have several ways for dealing with mezzing foes without dwarf.

I wish you all the best, AlienOne. A Masters is no easy feat, so you'll have some work cut out for you. I hope you still find your time to relax in game some days.
-
See, one of the reasons I don't give specifics is because out of all of the advice THB just threw out there, I only agree with about three lines.
That doesn't make his advice wrong or even bad. It's all good stuff, it's just not the way I have gone. It works for him. My slotting works for me. -
Quote:It's all good. And, at the risk of getting eSmacked by Dechs, I realized that the only AT I've never tried is a Warshade.
Guess what's first on the list of fresh alts.
Just be careful. The MFing Warshade road is long, dark, fun as hell and hard to come back from. You risk forgetting about your other mains. -
Quote:There are no "best purple sets." There are only "purple sets." If you don't even know what they are, you can't afford them, so it's really not worth worrying about."Look, we all know what the purple sets are and the best places to put them."
That's a quote from the MF Warshade guide. The problem is-- I don't know what the best purple sets are or where to put them.
The sets themselves are just excessively enhanced and come with a huge proc, so they're best in whatever attack you use the most often. -
To expand on 10joy's last comment, you can read my guide on the softcap.
Edit: crap, the direct link isn't in my signature anymore. If I weren't posting from my phone, I'd get it for you. -
MFing Warshade.
GD Mastermind.
Take your pick. -
Please give the warshade guide in my signature a read. I'm posting from my phone or I'd certainly say more. The guide should tell you all you need.

Updated with all primary powerset details. As always, I tried to keep the descriptions entertaining, a well as informative.
-
I've rerolled Dechs once. He used to be a Bots/FF, then became Bots/Traps.
After that, when I wanted Dechs to have new powersets, I came up with new names.
Marshal Kaison - SoA
Thompson Ninja - AR/EM Blaster
Just That Good - Time/DP Defender -
Dark Armor.
Seriously.
Death Shroud does less damage than Blazing Aura, and has no secondary effect like Lightning Field, all for the same endurance. Give it -tohit.
Cloak of Fear. Standard accuracy or half the endurance. Maybe both. -
Quote:I don't know about you, but I would not sacrifice the rest of my costume and power customization for the right eye color. Yes, it would be nice to have both. If one or the other, though, my choice is clear.Meh. Not really. It's missing the ''minor'' details that make it perfect. No eye color options, serious detail to hair, eyebrows, tattoos in any place or geometric placements, and the little nitpicks that make it overwhelmingly incredible.
Nothing ticks me off more than using a pre-made face that I can only alter so much or that fits perfectly except for the green/black/brown eyes. That's just ARUGH. I'm very picky. If they made eyes/eyebrow/blush/more makeup/pupil sizes customizable I'd probably be here for quite some time to come. -
Can my guide get linked in the OP? The GD Mastermind. Current as of i21.5.

In answer to the thread title: yes.
More seriously, everything except being Recluse's lackey or being roped into saving the world as a villain. -
Joe, arguments over whether dwarf is the tanking form aside, nothing will make taunt a part of an attack chain.
You don't only use dwarf to tank. -
I've forwarded your testing. It's considered a bug. When I know more, I'll tell you more.
-
Just made a number of small updates throughout to keep current with new iPowers, trials, pool power availability, and a bug. Nothing major, but enough to warrant the revision.

Quote:Yeah, I personally think it's a bit ridiculous. I call a spade a spade, you know? But apparently, it cuts down on people saying "Quit trolling me" when they are being legitimately debated.Okay, I will readily admit that I am a bit of a noob on the forums, as my low post count would indicate. But this "It takes a troll to name a troll" thing-- is this something unique to the forums? I have literally seen the opposite all over the internet, and if calling out trolls is trollish here, then I won't do it here.
Edit: never mind, I just saw it in the rules. Carry on. -
Joe, I hate to pick nits, but I have to ask how you can reconsile these two statements of yours.
Quote:Plugging his changes in to the same spreadsheets I used to demonstrate the power vaccum between PB's and WS's a few months back, I measured a roughly 30 dps gain on the same attack chain on the SO build. Survivability went up exponentially to the point that it is now roughly on par with Eclipse (LF gives self-contained capped resistance to all but psionics, Eclipse needs enemies to cap -or function - but offers psionic resistance and has no mez protection.)Quote:My second problem with the changes is that Single Origin players don't really see a great deal of benefit from them at all.
I totally agree with you that the changes hurt the forms, and I want to make sure that's clear. I also agree that the changes work out extremely well for the IO'd builds out there. -
To be honest, that's how it's always been. As a general rule: Scrappers have a slight offensive edge, brutes a slight defensive one.
Anywhere you can exceed the resistance cap of a Scrapper (75%), the survivability edge a Brute has becomes enormous.
Anywhere you can get excessive, long term damage buffs, the offense edge a Scrapper has becomes enormous.
There are plenty of other differences to consider as well. A Scrapper will always put out the same damage, every time. The Brute has to build his fury, and however easy that may be, it still has to be done. Scrappers simply don't get Super Strength. Brutes cannot get Shadow Meld. Scrapper damage auras do not have taunt components. Brutes are often expected to tank. The Claws power set works differently for each AT.
So yes, it all depends on what you want out of the character.
