Hey, just to throw this out there:
Quote:That's from the U.S. Copyright Office website FAQ.What is copyright?
Copyright is a form of protection grounded in the U.S. Constitution and granted by law for original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression. Copyright covers both published and unpublished works.
What does copyright protect?
Copyright, a form of intellectual property law, protects original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture. Copyright does not protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation, although it may protect the way these things are expressed. See Circular 1, Copyright Basics, section "What Works Are Protected."
How is a copyright different from a patent or a trademark?
Copyright protects original works of authorship, while a patent protects inventions or discoveries. Ideas and discoveries are not protected by the copyright law, although the way in which they are expressed may be. A trademark protects words, phrases, symbols, or designs identifying the source of the goods or services of one party and distinguishing them from those of others.
When is my work protected?
Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.
Do I have to register with your office to be protected?
No. In general, registration is voluntary. Copyright exists from the moment the work is created. You will have to register, however, if you wish to bring a lawsuit for infringement of a U.S. work. See Circular 1, Copyright Basics, section Copyright Registration.
Why should I register my work if copyright protection is automatic?
Registration is recommended for a number of reasons. Many choose to register their works because they wish to have the facts of their copyright on the public record and have a certificate of registration. Registered works may be eligible for statutory damages and attorney's fees in successful litigation. Finally, if registration occurs within 5 years of publication, it is considered prima facie evidence in a court of law. See Circular 1, Copyright Basics, section Copyright Registration and Circular 38b, Highlights of Copyright Amendments Contained in the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (URAA), on non-U.S. works.
As soon as you create a character and put it into a fixed medium, it is copyrighted. -
Quote:The thread was started before talking about it in others. Check the times.Seriously Dechs, you don't need to seek out every thread that is remotely relevant to this, post your suspicions AND start another thread on it yourself.
I'm just trying to find out if it anyone else has seen this. It's been a big concern even in the open beta. It would be nice to get some kind of confirmation that it's fixed.
As to the other threads I've posted in: They asked what the patch did. I simply said how I felt. -
I'm not sure about it, but I've noticed a massive increase in drops since yesterday's patch.
-
This is clearly because the game is dying and therefor no one was really there for the ship raid. You just imagined everyone.
In all seriousness, they just published a major issue, there's bound to be some server issues for a little while. Especially on raids with huge numbers of people all flinging around hot pink fire. -

In fact, lowering resistance is the only way to make a kin more useful. One kin can easily keep the team at the damage cap if he's halfway competent, especially now that we can have 8 man spawns no matter what the teamsize is. The only way up from there is -res.
-
I don't know if it was intended or not, but ever since the patch, I've been getting regular drops! It seems to me they fixed the drop rates already!
-
Here's a (probably silly) question: If you were at the HP cap without DP, would you consider dropping DP for some other power? Is it really worth it as a heal on a long recharge?
Probably... but I might as well ask. -
Quote:And -you- have no excuse for rudeness.
Welcome to the forums new guy. Most people here will be happy to just answer your questions without editorializing on what you should or should not know. That is why we have question and answer areas. Ignore the jerk and enjoy the game. It's wonderfully fun to play.Quote:It's a pretty big game with a lot of things going on; it seems like something one could miss if one wasn't intently following every development.Quote:You weren't hugged enough as a child, were you?
Or are you on a one man crusade to try to give the CoX community a harsh reputation. There was no snarkiness iin OP's questions. Don't turn it around like that. Not that I needed this many people to point it out, but yes, I was far out of line.Quote:SOMEONE didn't get their hug this morning.
C'mere...
That smell? Don't worry, I just haven't bathed for the last six months. Hold your breath if it helps...

I've had some other issues going on lately and my inability to deal with those issues on a personal level has lead to this explosion on the internet.
I make my humblest apologies, and can only hope they are accepted. -
Playing last night I grabbed a kinetic combat while playing my lowbie stalker.
I ran two +0/x8 missions with my 50 and had more recipe and salvage drops than I've had in a week. I am glad I worked for that extra storage space.
Either I had a spectacularly good run, or the drop rates have been returned to normal. -

I haven't ever been able to get into scrappers, but I came up with an entertaining concept that I'm sure someone would enjoy. Even if I could get into scrappers, I wouldn't be a fan of the sets that fit the idea.
So anyway, someone ought to make this character, it'd be funny.
Short, young male, British accent, scar on his forehead.
Broadsword/Fiery Aura
Name: Parry Hotter -

Oh, oh! I got two more!
Myth: Stalkers are useless. Roll a brute.
Fact: Stalkers take out sappers, and then act like scrappers on a full team. An AS then run and hide then AS again stalker is useless.
Myth: Defenders are useless because controllers can do everything they can do plus control.
Fact: Hmmm... maybe it's not a myth.

Not just the forums, the website had it. And you have to open the patch program every time you play CoX, which has a link to the announcement on the website there. I'm sorry to sound so harsh, but you have no excuse except ignorance for not knowing this ahead of time.

Welcome to a month ago. In fact, welcome to several months ago when i16 was announced. No epic AT was included in the power customization from the beginning.
There have been many topics on this, despite how often patch notes and other messages from developers have stated that it has not been done yet. There is some question as to whether it will be done, since they are tied to lore.
Please read the forums next time. -
Quote:Personally, I wouldn't suggest threatening kneecaps. It doesn't have the same effect anymore.Niv, we have got to get this girl a job at Paragon. It's meant to be. How do we make this happen? Who do we have to schmooze (or whose kneecaps threaten) to make this happen?
What you do is this: Tie the man down to a chair in a dark and cold room. Pull up a chair and sit facing him. Don't say anything. Yet.
Have two rather large and scary men walk into the room, one with a railroad tie, and the other with a sledge hammer. Have the first place the railroad tie over the little toe of your victim's right foot. Have the second hit this railroad tie with the sledge hammer. The first man now moves the railroad tie to the second smallest toe on that foot.
Now you ask your question. -

Alright, I have some more questions because it's not completely clear to me. The example on wiki says:
Quote:Is this saying that anyone who is mezzed stops getting all buffs from all sources except for mez protection for the duration of the mez? Are clicky powers like the FF shields suppressed when mezzed? For example, a Force Field Defender is hit with a Rikti Mentalist's Mezmerize. The Defender is now sleeping and her Dispersion Bubble is no longer providing her with any defense. It is still providing mez protection and if the Defender is next hit with a Dominate she will not be held. In this situation the Defender's teammates will still benefit from the defense and mez protection so long as they themselves remain un-mezzed.
Let's say I'm in the defender's dispersion bubble and I get hit with a sleep, but the defender's fine. Am I still getting the defense bonus? If not, how does me getting hit with sleep remove the benefit of someone else's toggle?
Something about this just doesn't seem right... -
Quote:This post is awesome, but you forgot the myth about Masterminds.Remind me to do this once they port Katana over to Brutes.
Myth: Corruptors play like Blasters or Defenders.
Fact: Corruptors play like Corruptors.
Myth: Dominators play like Controllers or Blasters.
Fact: Dominators play like Dominators.
Myth: Brutes play like Tankers or Scrappers.
Fact: Brutes play like Brutes.
Myth: Stalkers play like Scrappers.
Fact: Stalkers play like Stalkers.
Myth: Masterminds play like demi-gods, sent to lay waste to anything and everything PvE has to offer.
Fact: Most masterminds play like demi-gods, sent to lay waste to anything and everything PvE has to offer. Then there's mercs. -

My global friends list was missing this morning. Were you having the same problem?
If it happened to more than just me, then awesome, I might get my global friends back!
