Additionally, if you manage to three slot swift, quickness and sprint with Run Speed IO's, you'll pretty much be at SS levels anyway. Then, if you activate Elude, you'll be at the speed cap. So if you don't want to take a travel power it's a perfect valid tactic for a SR and there would be no travel suppresion either, just in case you did decide to go into PvP later. It'd also save you a couple of power choices making it easier to squeeze in the Medicine pool.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Unslotted Superspeed adds around 50mph

3 slotted sprint, swift, quickness add around 35mph

Elude won't take you to speed cap unless you slot that for run speed too.

Awful lot of slots to replace one power
  2. If you are only L8 then you aren't gimped as you will need hack and slash early on. Instead of a travel power you can use the temps from Safeguards. Just will need a respec later on to rebuild
  3. Defense Debuff IOs are a waste in your attacks, better slotting with Recharge and/or end redux. Don't need both hack and slash, with quickness and hasten your attacks are up in plenty of time.

Combat Jumping would be far superior to hurdle, higher jump and it adds to defense.

Practiced Brawler only needs one recharge in it with quickness and hasten. Your toggles definitely don't need 2 endredux (its far more beneficial slotting attacks for endredux if you have end problems) Superspeed doesn't need any slots in it (and doesn't need any endredux, if you fight with it on then you will be slower due to the suppression than if you had it turned off)

I find Medicine Pool invaluable for saving on downtime in missions
  4. Join or make teams around your own level. Do missions. Have fun.
  5. Well you may be able to afford the build when you've made your 1st billion or so. Medicine pool is useless, you have dark regen. Miracle needs to be in Health, its no help in dark regen. If you want to pvp, then these probabl;y aren't the sets for you. Dark regen is not a good heal for pvp as you need to hit, and need more enemies for larger heals.

Energy Torrent is by far the best power you can take from any epic pool in this build. With it you can own mobs meant for far larger teams, without it you will die. Lots of other things 'wrong' in the build, asShannon said, see Maelwys build in the guides section, its an exceelnt reference point.

    Quick DB Query

Power Up - Attack Vitals is my choice, with Weaken on tougher mobs
  7. I have seen very few /sonic trollers on my travels and just wondered why. Its a set I've been considering but can't really decide on the primary. Probably mostchanceof me making an ice, earth or fire /sonic. Thoughts on those pairings and any others appreciated.
  8. Whats the point in having so much ranged defence ( and paying a lot for the IOs for it) when you have so many PBaoe/melee attacks?

Also 100% regen isn't actually as good as it sounds, as base regen rate is pretty low.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Footstomp is also a good place for a Force Feedback chance of +recharge IO, at least in PvE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't have room in mine for that proc as I have perfect zinger: chance for psi damage. Just so that I can stamp my foot so hard it hurts your brain!!!
  10. The simple fact is that any veteran who 'doesn't rate defence' doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. There are 3 powersets in Heroes based solely on defence. Are these 3 powersets useless?
  11. so you want someone to do a lot of work for you?

there are lots of guides regarding trick arrow and earth sets, both here and on the US forums. Plus you could also learn the sets by actually playing them.
  12. One of our current SG teams has a thermal, 2 kin and a rad, combined with a fire brute its pretty much game over for anything that gets in our way. Definitely not an underperforming AT if played correctly.
  13. Fata Morgana Ill/Rad troller (with superior invisibility and Recall friend for ghosting )
  14. Plus with some IOs you can reduce the amount of time stunned.
  15. For your consumption, the current build I am using. (I really think the only way from here is to go for the purple sets). I like playing this build, and find no need for hasten with my extra recharges in sets and the enhancement bonuses in powers

  16. looks like boston has been eating ready brek!
  17. Corruptors base damage figures are higher than a defenders. In your example of sonic/sonic, a corruptor does on average 15/20% more damage per blast than a defender. A defender has a 20% resistance debuff, the corruptor has a 15% resistance debuff, in practice these are equal debuffs for the corruptor and defender due to the corruptors higher base damage. If a corruptors debuffs were higher it would completely skew the villains game as pretty much everyone in villains is a damage dealer, unlike heroes where the roles are more defined. Also it would imbalance the game if corruptor buffs were too high as you would then have high damage characters buffed to the max all of the time.
  18. I would just take the fighting pool. I personally have never been in a situation on my L50 WP tank in which I've thought the medicine pool would be of any use.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
No, not all corruptors do what Fire/Kin does damage wise, of course, but, errr, not all defenders do what Rad/Psi does either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then what are these other rupters doing as they ain't do the same in buffs and debuffs as defenders either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ok so your argument is that Corruptors are a poor mans defender. When you take one of the defender primaries which produces high damage for defenders, it produces high damage for corruptors, only Corruptors have better sets to make use of them (AR and Fire for AOE, Cold for ST). Thermal is arguably more damage oriented than its defender counterpart (empathy) due to its debuffs, and Cold is much more powerful and interesting than its defender counterpart (bubbles). I know which AT I prefer... and it ain't those weak [censored] defenders.
  20. Aye no problem here, though may be better if i fetch my fire rad corruptor instead of my dom? (need badge on either, so no problem whichever)
  21. I vote for Psygons various cut pics. As linked by many previously.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
The OP does have a point. Maybe its time corruptors had a blast set exclusive to them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

there are very few exclusive powersets around, and corruptors have 2 of them already. Plus they have access to sets which blasters and defenders don't both have access to.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Just out of interest, how have you found tanking AVs? Is it ok with support?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have soloed every Praetorian as an EB. I've tanked most of them as AVs fairly easily except for antimatter. The problem is actually having a team in many cases, they don't listen when you tell them to leave the other mob and concentrate on the AV. I've found best tactic vs the harder hitting AVs (or AVs with PBAOE) is to get them immobed and taunt from range with as many mobs as possible around me.
  24. the only problem i have with my ice/storm is the lack of synergy of some powers. However it does have very strong control options.
