  1. So you chose to drop Taunt completely?

*Looks over that never ending debate about taunt thread*
  2. I would drop permafrost... is pretty much useless. Use the slot to get Stamina earlier. Cant think off the top of my head what you would replace it with though
  3. I have been looking at a build based solely on holding aggro. It is great for holding aggro, and has a good survivability. However it has only one attack (if you discount the damage aura) until level 28.

From the point of view of doing a tankers 'job' of holding aggro it is fantastic... but would I be happy playing a character that is only concerned with running round playing tag? NO.

So from one point of view this tanker is 'better' as it holds aggro better (arguably) but from what I consider the most important aspect, playability, it is by far worse.

I think we reached the bottom line in this issue weeks ago. Which was; no matter how good a tanker you are without taunt, you'll always be better with it, irrespective of what kind of tanker you are.

    I agree. Who dosent?

At this specific point in my build I have to disagree. If I had taken Taunt then I would be left with 2 attacks until level 24. No matter what, I am suspicious of any AT who neglects either their primary or secondary powers.

Perhaps at later levels I will, but certainly there is no room for it before I get Hibernate (I love that power...)

    Bonfire Question

I agree with Carnifax, Flashfire and Fire Cages is a far better hold than cinders and is pretty much my opening move. Works wonders! Cinders is just a backup for me if the fight goes on too long or there is a boss!

    Bonfire Question

Bonfire does do damage, but to be honest it is negligable. the only point of Bonfire is the knockback in my opinion and so adding in fire cages would make it a complete waste of a power slot.

I find it to be very useful for preventing foes getting into melee range or as a panic power. It is also great fun. If placed correctly it can pretty much negate a boss and it is also useful when trying to protect something. But, as I say, damage is negligable.
  7. I have pretty much solo'd up to lvl 25. The two teams that I have joined in that time suffered from a severe lack of communication. If I am on a team I like to have some talk going on. On one team I said 'Hi there' and got no response whatsoever. I quit soon after.

I have also failed to recieve a single tell, instead finding myself plagued by blind invites (well, not plagued, but enough that I have started putting my search tag to decline all team invites on occasion)

Perhaps this is because most of the AT's in CoV are more easily soloable, or perhaps the only times when good teams have been forming I have been anti-social and not accepting team invites...

    Ask A Ben

I thought this second trailer captured the feeling of Ask A Ben a bit more than the first...

You can't beat a good day of wrath for anticipation though...
  9. I was on last night, however with a different character then the one with the mission.

If someone wants to suggest a time I will certainly see if I am available for that and, if I am, everyone is welcome to join me.

    Stone/EM

Has anyone ever done a guide for Stone/EM? I have had a search, but haven't found anything.

    Thanks
  11. I also have the missing fortune teller mission. People are welcome to come along and donations to the poor are very welcome

    Let me know @Days
  12. I am part of a Tech orientated supergroup and, as such, we are looking to trade arcane salvage for tech salvage.

    Anyone interested?
  13. Bethelemus has finally earned his fire monkeys. Huge thanks to Truth-Bot for all his help, now on to 50!
  14. that's it! I am getting days to 40 asap so I can provide said whupping... or perhaps just run around screaming while you chase me benny hill style

    Fire/FF

I have been struggling to settle with my Fire/FF troller. Even though he is my oldest character I have never been particularly happy with him. He is lvl 30 and has recently gained a respec...

any hints or suggestions on what I should get?
  19. I have found that, with practice, I can fire off taunt just before rage wears off and then I can activate Hibernate and recoup all my health/end. Perfect! Hasn't caused a problem for any team I have been in either.
  20. I like rage, I have no problem with the 'down time' as it is so short. Occasionally I run into a group just as it wears off but hey, it hasn't killed me yet...
  21. so far I have struggled as I keep forgetting I am not a controller or tank. Having fun with it still

    Thanks for all your tips
  22. I love bonfire! Careful how you use it though, melee types might not like you scattering their groups if you place it badly.

Personally I would skip Hot Feet. I tried it, enjoyed it, faceplanted a lot. I just couldn't use it properly i guess.
  23. hehe, how could i forget?
  24. I have not had a blaster since before I3 but have just rolled one...

    Any advice?
  25. Have been playing since just before I3 came out and still have no 50.

I have a severe case of Altitis however, as once I hit c.30ish I start twitching for those quick early levels. No patience me
