Thanks all who participated, it was indeed fun. Now... on to the next one!
-
OK I have totally lost track of who is coming, due to some people signing up from different places so I am just gonna have to invite whoever happens to be there at the time
-
Have done a little research and have decided to try and get a few people together for this SF
As stated in the subject 7 PM on Friday the 11th of January
Levels 15-20 although two of us shall be auto-exemping down -
I really have a desire to try one (or possibly even two) of the villains strike forces on my level 32 brute over the coming weekend. However I have never done any of them so am not really in a position to organise and lead one.
Is there any helpful soul that can help me achieve this aim? -
I may well be interested. My 50 Ill/Kin needs them all. Friday night would probably suit me best.

You've avoided AoE attacks, melee attacks, and stamina.....So what have you taken then?
[/ QUOTE ]
ST attacks, leaping pool and medicine pool mostly :P

Oh, and 6-slot RoA, use it whenever it's up, and love it.

That's my plan! -
My Blaster has reached 33 over the DXP weekend and is looking to respec somewhat.
She has, up till this point, avoided the AoE attacks and even the melee attacks too. But now she has Rain of Arrows and might need to reconsider. Can anyone help?
I am not really wanting many melee attacks and I haven't needed stamina.
Any help would be appreciated. -
Bah, does it have to be Wednesday? Any other nnight and I could make it! gah!
-
Yeah, I am certainly interested. Will try and turn up with Days' Crusader
-
Gratz!
Oh, and damm you for not waiting till I was around to cheer you on! -
Mr. Tulip
For some reason Terry Pratchett comes to mind. The truth? Keeps saying '-ing' (however that is pronounced). -
Have discovered that if you equip your thugs then upgrade equipment and then upgrade equipment for a second time then the backpack for the arsonist and the trenchcoats come back!
Time consuming but nice to get the proper look for the first time.
Edit: Drat, this doesn't seem to work consistantly -
I have an Ice/Fire without the fighting pool (or even aid self) And I have no problem with him. If I am solo I enjoy herding groups to me then AoEing their...selves
Great fun!

I have to agree with Godfall.
I only got my thugs MM to 32 after I8 so I cannot comment about the bug that was affecting henchmen before that point but my thugs have never had trenchcoats. Even trying the get-around you suggested they remain with only a leather jacket. Is mildly dissapointing. I look forward to it being fixed (unless the fix has been to replace the costume pieces completely) -
I am looking to take down the Ghost of Scrapyarder with my level 30 MM. Is there anyone that can help?
-
Drat! I really wanted to come along too! Meh
-
Gah, am away all weekend! I really want to join in too.
Oh well, some other time -

The only information I can give is that my CE was slotted with one taunt (oh and I had icicles too, but that wasn't slotted for anything) and we were both lvl 26.
[/ QUOTE ]
That explains everything then
To out-taunt someone you have to apply a Taunt duration that's twice as long as the one he applies/applied, so with both CE and Icicles you can easily Taunt them longer than an unlotted Taunt.
Especially if you were fighting higher lvl foes because the Taunt duration decreases dramatically with the relative level difference and foes ranking (i.e., a +2 boss will stay taunted for like no time with taunt, while with the pulses of CE and Icicles you can easily keep him taunted)
[/ QUOTE ]
So what you are saying is taunt auras are better than taunt... is that right or merely me putting words in your mouth? -

With my Ice tank I was teaming with a SS/Inv tank. He had taunt and I didn't. There were just the two of us in the team.
Even though he was using taunt he couldn't seem to get the aggro off of me. He managed to distract a boss for a short while but all the minions were always focussed on me...
I didn't think that would be possible or does mt taunt aura work better than taunt? -

It did! I'm so happy to be not being a teenager/child anymore....really, I am...no, seriously.

I don't want to shatter any fragile petals here, but if you're going to be 21, then you're already not a teenager.
I realise that's bad news. Sorry.

You have never heard of the age 'twenteen' before?
Some people! -

Bit cheeky but I can't really bare the thought of reading all this. was the conclusion yes or no?
[/ QUOTE ]
A Tank without tank is still a tank. That is the conclusion. After all, as the poem goes;
'Rosa Rosa Rosa est est'
As to whether a tank without taunt is as good or better than one with... well, opinions seem to think that one WITH taunt are better able to control aggro, but as to whether it is essential or not... inconclusive. -
I have actually found that Stamina is not really necessary. The only time I get low on endurance is when I call all my thugs. Also with swift I leave all my thugs behind and have to wait on them to catch up... Gives you a couple of different options
-
I have two tanks currently, both ice. One is /fire and the other is /SS.
Having played them one after the other I have come to the decision that the /SS one needs taunt but the /fire one can cope without it.
It has made me believe that it is entirely up to the individual build whether a tank NEEDS taunt or whether it is a very useful extra.
