I managed to get all the event badges on my current 'main' and roughly 16 full sets of invention salvage.

I also earned lots of inf and got 2 purples from ToTing

I can certainly understand you saying combat is slow from playing controllers; it can take an age to do anything depending upon your specific power sets.

Scrappers should give a slightly better impression and even the blasters you have dabbled in but they will both suffer at early levels from a lack of quantity of powers. The only cure to this is to play to a higher level to experience a full attack chain (is it even possible to get a full attack chain on a trial account? Certainly not for some combinations of powers, possibly on others it would be though.)

I suspect that many veterans forget exactly how much hang time there can be as much of that is gone with the veteran temp powers of which some lucky people now have 3 of... pretty much an attack chain from level 1.

As others have pointed out, being part of a big team may well make it feel like a faster tempo in combat. It may not, but it is all perception.

Music and sound effects... well, many people I know tend to play with the in-game music off and their own music playing instead, so perhaps you are on to something there. Saying that there are numerous cases of people having a hugely positive reaction to the atlas park music.

Thankyou for giving us your perspective, is always interesting to hear what a newcomer to the game feels as some of us have been around so long we can hardly remember what it is like! I do hope you stick around a bit longer, perhaps buy the game and play the free month without the massive trial restrictions and tell us what you think then

Are ghosts in the ToT event meant to be THAT scarce? Or have I just not been on a big enough team for them to spawn?

Having been knocking on doors for a couple of hours last night and a further hour this morning I have seen ONE ghost. By my reckoning I will need to ToT for a further two and a half solid days before I get the buster badge...

Fixed that. Unless you somehow know what all the other bids are it is a complete guessing game. The only thing to do is be patient I am afraid. I do suspect however that some people have put theirs up for 99,999,99 putting themselves ahead of you in the queue and saving themselves a small amount of infamy (I am not sure how accurate that is though)

Well, that or take the item off and resubmit it at a slightly lower price, but that wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

The higher end items such as the one you are selling will have a slower turn around due to the sums involved. Good luck.

I would put forward the idea that there may be a flaw in the logic of this statement. On the surface it seems perfectly valid, but we have to consider some other factors.

If one particular recipe is expensive then the bidding history will reveal that it is selling for, let us say, 10 million.

If this bid history is the only thing you have to go on (and most people I would suggest will only look at that pertinent figure) then people are likely to place the recipe they have just had drop at that price.

Even if the supply of that particular recipe suddenly increases then most people will still put it up for sale at 10 million. The price remains at a high level.

In order for the price to drop the sellers would have to take their recipe off the market (and lose the 500,000 auction fee) and put it up for a lesser price (and pay the further auction fee... another 250,000 if the price is halved).

I would suggest that people are less likely to do that than they are to wait for a week or two for someone to fork out the cash; which, given the impatience of the buyers, is likely to happen.

The multiple builds thing interests me although I don't see myself making a PvE/PvP build as, quite frankly, wouldn't know a PvP build if it did something metaphorical.

I do see myself creating a build that allows me to have more of my powers when/if I exemp down to lower levels. I frequently respec after 20 to get the various prerequisites that I want for travel and stamina which leads to me not ever wanting to exemp back to such low levels. This could help me tackle that again
