No, but I did throw a toon in there so that I could run with them during the challenge. Sorry for any hazy responses

As I have no power and only influence over felecia, you best speak with her. I would suggest sending her an in-game message rather than a forum post. Otherwise you run the risk of being lumped together with all the negative posters. As long as you are civil, and don't rage post, I am sure Felecia will take your suggestions into consideration.

Oh, I didn't realize she posted the mission ahead of time before.

WHF --
"Why do you feel good about the host SG winning (more often than not, and mainly because they have the most turnout and therefore the best chance of winning) their own events, and more importantly, why should anyone outside of AOW feel good about it?"
I wouldn't say I feel *good* about it. I just think the members of AoW should be allowed to participate. I know for a fact that felecia hasn't given an AoW member special priveleges in the competition so I don't see why they shouldn't participate. And yes, AoW had the largest turnout which is why they won. But that isn't AoW's fault. It is on you to show up with a large group of skilled players.
"Felecia, you left in a fit of rage earlier and declared that all future events you ran would be AOW only. What's different about doing it that way and what's currently going on?"
I realize this was directed towards felecia but I think I can answer. Before, the events were closed to everyone but AoW. Now they are open to everyone and anyone can win. Also, in the most recent event, felecia did give hundreds of millions away to PoN, Phire's team (UHB? sorry I can't keep track of all the leaders and their groups), and a few others. So, I think the biggest difference is that anybody can win now whereas before nobody could win. I think you are probably smart enough to realize this on your own, though.
"Personally, I wouldn't ask my SG to participate in something where I felt like they wouldn't have a fair chance of winning, simply because of the name over their head. You two can argue till the cows come home about how you feel what you did is fair, but it won't change the fact that perception is just as important as reality, and things sure look fishy from the outside. Good intentions won't cover that up."
Yup, you're right, it does look fishy. -
Ok fine, change "FoTM" to popular wherever I said it. All I want is a build that isnt used often
-
Basically, what do you think is the best non-FotM scrapper build? The build cannot include fire, MA, katana, broadsword, or spines. It cannot contain REGEN above all.
I was thinking of a DM/elec scrapper. DM has nice debuffs, nice control with the fear and immob, and shadow maul hits like an f'n truck with such a long animation time.
Elec may be nice because it resists end drain, has good resistance to all but negative energy (and come on, when was the last time you saw negative energy attacks in RV). Built for recharge, damage, and perhaps additional resistance if it can be fit in, I think DM/elec could be nearly as good as a BS/regen. The extra recharge would get the heal, and shadow maul up faster which would be the main two powers. -
I'm afraid I don't understand how they hit their max. If you were, to say, get a crit force field all of a sudden it does 45%ish defense buff instead of 20-25%ish which certainly is not "Adding MORE buff on top of that is basically just adding more wasted effort.
"....Even if used on a SR scrapper, that scrap would become absolutely unstoppable. I can't think of a single defender primary that hits the "max". I am not talking softcap, I am talking hardcap.
I don't like the idea of boosting a defender's defense, damage, tohit or anything similar. The concept of a defender is to help teammates so I think the power should help the defender defend his teammates. -
Personally, I think that AoW members should be allowed in the event (I no longer am in it if you care to know). In all reality, this is felecia's event, not AoW's. Felecia has contributed all the influence, made the missions, tested the missions, and gotten most of the heat the forums has directed towards the event. I know for a fact that she does not, and never will cheat. I know that my word doesn't count for all that much.
If she posts the mission ahead of time, nobody can complain that AoW'ers received special knowledge ahead of time. Everyone would have ample time to construct a team and test the mission.
Keep in mind that AoW has not won every event. The first one was won by myself, cherry, war, fanged knight, CriticalKat and a few others I do not remember. I was the only member of aow at the time. So, maybe that counts as AoW winning, maybe it doesn't. Up to you to decide that.
AoW won the most recent event because the players on the team had practiced the mission, and team with each other often so they knew how to go about the mission. Everyone had ample time to practice, and form a team, but nobody did.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I certainly understand the viewpoints of all of you guys. I am pro- letting AoW participate. I know people disagree and will find something in this post specifically to disagree with, but you can have your viewpoint and I will have mine. Please, just try not to turn it into what happened last time because I think thhat was unpleasant for everyone involved (I'm sure some people got a kick out of reading it, though). I will try not to let my temper get the best of me like last time, either.
--Oh yeah, I don't care how terrible something is run, I can't complain about winning up to a billion influence in a half hour of teaming -
I can't committ to be there but if Im online and someone drops or is a no-show I can fill in.
-
I have a suggestion felecia. Maybe post the mission a week or two ahead of time? (You would of course need a new mission ID # so that teams couldnt get a headstart)
-
Don't forget Bud and Jonnie who I'm sure are just as good, or better, than me. (And any other templars I have not had the pleasure of teaming with)
-
Usually +0/+8 for my fire/fire tank to maximize good drops....generally about +3 for lowbies soloing but I rarely solo
-
This is the build I am currently using. Very survivable with near softcap defense to melee, fast recharging heal, and high resistance values

That post is incoherent. What does "but I have no Idea hot build beefy farming build" even mean?
-
I like the idea but a viable way to prevent abusers needs to be instituted.
-
Yeah but for the other primaries? Why have an inherit power that ONLY helps empathy defenders? (maybe thermals too) Besides, if you have a critical buff it would make it less likely that your team faceplants in the first place
-
Great idea....only problem I can see is that it would require a huge amount of work by the devs to implement it. (Similar to how the devs put off being able to change power colors because it required tons of code-writing and whatnot)
-
As for the toggles, they could make it similar to procs in toggles by having it roll every ten seconds or whatever time increment they choose
-
I was thinking, maybe get rid of vigilance and give defenders a critical buff, similar to the critical damage that scrappers have. For example a defender uses Insulation shield on a teammate, and there is a 10% chance that the buff has double strength. Feedback on this idea?
-
Too bad. I was hoping it would fire every tick and be a constant knockdown
-
DM/shield i believe is the number one AV killer but like Demobot said, it requirees a lot of influence. I think you could probably make a pretty cheap DM/SR that could solo AVs
