Yes, full of information directly from the devs a click away. Not to mention the fact that Z or some other red letter does give updates and communicates directly with us daily. We may not like everything they communicate, but they do a darn good job of it and there is no other spin you or anyone else can put on it to change that fact.
Zman did get that info from the devs posting it here.
You are wrong face it. -
Was just on a BAF that had several griefers that got close to being successful, but failed.
Its something that a game like EVE Online gave me a totally new perspective about and it bothers me much less than before after playing that game for years.
Granted griefing "is" an acceptable and promoted part of that game so there is a difference, but I just feel there is a connection to the mentality there that spills over into games like this where griefing is not accepted as a part of the game play and player interaction. -
Are you using part from the shop that cost points before you can use them?
-
I don't always like what they do, but these devs "DO" communicate much more than some other communities. If they were acting like EA has been for the past decade, then I think you would have a point.
-
I think its just another choice type deal. I don't see it as bad that another provides slightly different boosts that fit a smaller segment of the population ie. the willpower/dark ppl perhaps.
-
What? The only time you would have any change to the "xp" is after an alpha slot and at that point "xp" in the 1-50 game does not matter. Maybe I missed what you are trying to say?

Quote:Yup pretty much this.I presume it will be the same thing that motivates them today.
At the moment, there are a lot of +3's with no real reason to run the trials anymore, no need or desire to add yet another ability to their slots, but run them anyway. Who cares if, when the new slots become available, they unlock them and slot them up instantly? These guys (and gals) will grind the new trials just because they can, not because they need to. It's what they do today, and I suspect it will be what they continue to do until the servers finally shut down for good.
You can probably divide the hardcore player base into those that enjoy the trials for their own sake, those that do them to stockpile components for the future, and those that do them as part of a routine of cycling through WTFs, SSAs, Tips, and whatever other repeatable content is available. And when none of that is motivational enough, they turn to playing alts and sending them through the whole process. I don't see these players losing motivation to play just because they can insta-slot their mains. And I imagine that non-hardcore players aren't stockpiling and will be doing the new trials and unlocking the new slots at a nice even pace just like the devs want. -
Quote:These are good ideas, especially the QOL issue.I remember creating a suggestions thread for a Day-job revamp myself a long time ago. The idea of applicable missions being generated by a day-job and allowing special access to some area or store was touched upon. Though to ease the workload of the devs and players attentions I believe that a single story-arc regarding the day-job in question would be less of a bother and yet still relevant to the issue at hand. Completing said story arc would give the day-job representative reason to give you special access to an area previously unseen, or allow you to purchase temporary powers that would ordinarily be impossible to buy anywhere else.
Another QoL issue was the bonuses themselves not being very easy to use and encouraged rushing recklessly into missions to get maximum effect, the mission-complete DJ-bonuses. Simply put, turning all mission-complete timers into charges, which remain on character until a mission that gives rewards is complete, the bonus gives out the appropriate reward and then one charge is deducted from ones obtained. For the Graveyard/XP-debt day job, one charge would deplete per defeat that would normally incur debt. For more difficult bonuses like adding regen/recov/recharge/resist for certain time may have to have extra coding put in place to tick down only when the character takes damage or uses powers, so non-combat situations don't waste the bonuses. -
Quote:On a basic level of course dev design games etc... thats a given no need to say the obvious to make a different point we all know devs design the game. Its the unwanted, unneeded and too restrictive part we are dealing with here. There is no "real" reason for it not to be there except "Posi" wants it that way, which directly conflicts with the players and does not negatively affect the overall design of the game to have it there as a QOL deal period. You do realize that that is how all games work, right? The devs in every game make decisions based on how "THEY" want the game to work, then they look at player input and add things the players want as long as it doesn't conflict with how they want the game they developed to work.
We are lucky to have devs as lenient as they are. I've played in MMO's where players are required, REQUIRED to recruit other players before they can even form an SG/Guild/Fleet. Those other games cram forced socialization down your throat and you don't get half the cool stuff we get access to when we create our SG's.
Still hoping the devs will change their minds on this tho.
The standard of "other" games are not why I play "this" game so comparing how terrible some "other" game is to make this game look less terrible does not work. The standard set in this game is the standard of measure not some other standard from some other game. -
Quote:I am beginning to wonder if you and a few others here just play devils advocate and act obtuse about these things on purpose for reasons unknown. It's grading rewards by difficulty, just like the 1-50 game does - once you start fighting grays, you stop getting any form of progress, so you have to find tougher enemies to continue your progress - or do you still rage when you hit level 10 in Atlas Park, and the evil devs force you to move to another zone to fight tougher enemeis if you want to progress further by taking away all ther ewards from the Atlas Park enemies?
The comparison is not a good one since the devs have not made it clear that what you claim is the actual fact about the intended purpose of incarnate progression. Incarnate progression is not 1-50 leveling, if it were then at some point you would "out level" the BAF which is certainly NOT the case as is. No getting all t4 in all five slots is NOT out leveling, it is in fact progression and no they are not the same and you know it.
Intellectual dishonesty is not cute so cut the crap GG. -
Quote:I call BS on this post. You have played for years yet the weekly TF being speed run is somehow an "issue", bullocks. If they put the settings on -1 and they are running around the TF +2 to the enemy this will happen WAI.I just did the ITF for the first time in years. It was simply stupid.
Every character simply ignored the foes and ran through the missions past them, taking out only the ones they needed to. There was no challenge to it. 90% of the foes may as well not have been there.
Is the rest of the high level this stupid now?
If you want a regular ITF or anything else don't join the weelky tf or any other activity being run for speed, really simple. -
Quote:This is what *I* dislike about I-trials, please don't threaten me or force me to play content that I do not find enjoyable. If certain people would rather run a Lambda or a BAF rather than a MoM or a TPN that should be their choice.
To do this would be akin to saying "ok you guys run a lot of ITFs but not too many Dr. Q's so we are going to give less and less rewards for ITFing unless you guys start running more Dr. Q's."
Yes, this is exactly what he is saying. You see this is what I am talking about when I say devs doing this ALWAYS run themselves into the wall with this approach. I have said it before and you repeated it, if I want to run BAF's only BAF's all day everyday I am playing the game, NO dev "should" have ANY issue with it. I paid my 15 quid now leave me the fugg alone.
Get your stinky devs paws off/out of my personal playing experience. TYVM. -
Quote:Ultimately I don't see why the devs should care how long it takes anyone to get what they want out of the game.
Frankly, this is where devs ALWAYS get themselves into trouble with the wider player base. Trying to control to tightly the direction and pace of player achievements is a loser for devs. -
Quote:The needle has moved up for sure. I just hope its enough to meet the devs idea of enough so they don't go all punitive with the rewards from the older trials. Having said that, they most likely will end up making those other new currencies active when the slots open.

Will it be a new currency? Id love for it NOT to come to that, but youve made it clear that you want to keep getting all the old currency out of the older content. -

Quote:A Ninja/Poison MM to 50. I don't think your PvP "only" proposal is something the devs would consider since a 50% reduction to any current power has no supportive data to show that or any level of reduction was needed. My hat is on my head, no one is handing me my hat, thank you. Does he keep beating me? YES, poison debuffs are just too outrageous, I say reduce their effectiveness by 50%, reduce the time they last to 5 seconds, or make them un-power boost-able. I have on-the-field experience, what do you have?
I recognize that this raging nerf call is based on you experiencing repeated defeats, but that alone is just not enough for the devs to change the set for everyone else in the game, that would make no sense whatsoever.
Usually people that get beat up in PvP choose to refine their build and tactics and rarely if ever come here asking for a set nerf with no merit whatsoever. -
Peacebringers
Combat Flight now correctly provides defense to all types of attacks.
Luminous Blast
Build Up has been renamed "Inner Light". It now grants a large damage and ToHit bonus for 10 seconds, and then a moderate damage and ToHit bonus for 20 seconds thereafter, for a total of 30 seconds of boosted damage.
Photon Seekers cooldown has been reduced from 300 seconds to 180 seconds.
Luminous Aura : Quantum Acceleration
Added a new power available at level 24: Quantum Acceleration.
Quantum Acceleration is similar to Afterburner.
This allows Peacebringers to select this power if they wish.
This power now provides a moderate amount of defense, improved flight control, and -fly protection, but has a 30 second cooldown once toggled off. This power can now accept Defense enhancements, IOs and Defense set IOs.
This power will no longer allow the user to fly unless the user has a flight power active.
This power's long help now clarifies that this power's flight protection is only granted while Combat Flight, Energy Flight, Quantum Flight or Group Energy Flight is active.
Light Form has been redesigned. Its cooldown has been lowered from 1000 seconds to 300 seconds, but its duration has been reduced to 90 seconds to match that of Eclipse. The recovery bonus from the power and the status protection from the power have been moderately reduced to compensate for the drastic increase in uptime now possible. Additionally, Light Form now persists when activating White Dwarf or Bright Nova.
White Dwarf now protects you from status effects as soon as its animation begins, preventing the power from being interrupted.
Solar Flare and White Dwarf Flare are now generated by the Peacebringer's hands instead of their feet, and can now be used while in midair.
Warshades
Umbral Aura : Shadow Slip
Added a new power available at level 24: Shadow Slip
Shadow Slip is similar to Long Range Teleportation.
This allows Warshades to select this power if they wish.
Decreased this power's interrupt time from 13 seconds to 10 seconds and decreased its recharge from 450 seconds to 300 seconds.
Black Dwarf now protects you from status effects as soon as its animation begins, preventing the power from being interrupted.
Shadow Cloak - This power has been updated to reflect changes to power pool Stealth that have occurred since it was made. It now provides defense to all types of damage, rather than just positional defense, and half of the defense bonus now suppresses while in combat. -
Quote:Now you're trying to psychoanalyze me? How about I categorize you? Somewhere at the bottom of the food pyramid, with cereal, because I eat kids like you for breakfast.
PVP butt hurtness? Lol, you must not know bout me. Solid numbers: SuckaFisher and his little nignag imps kill you >.<
So you are butthurt because SuckaFisher keeps handing you your hat? Ok continue on with your campaign based on your swollen butt vs hard data. That is bottom of the barrel stuff there. -
There are people that know there is a way even if they don't know how its done, they have witnessed it for themselves.
-
This one screams loudly as a very bad idea. Makes me think someone with power had a baby and nobody on the team wanted to tell them yes your baby is in fact UGLY AS A MO FO!
-
Quote:You must have some kind of persecution complex about being judged, you weren't, but categorized, you bet. Needless nerf calls tend to lend themselves to be categorized in the way you were.Like I said, don't judge me. The devs have made MANY mistakes in the past and remain oblivious to further pressing issues than poisons, so this doesn't surprise me one bit.
Now you're categorizing me? Oh joy. write a book.
Aside from your obvious PVP butt hurtness, do you have something solid numbers wise someone like Arcaneville or anyone else can objectively review? -
Quote:Who said?Who said the devs thought it our expectation?
This is an end game system - and it's not one where you are (without breakdown or respec) locked forever into a choice.
I personally never expected them to allow breakdown of the crafted powers. Nor do I now.
He said. He is not alone as several people here and many in game have asked for this option. There are "other" options to break things down within the incarnate system, not having this as one is ...I guess an oversight....your individual desires notwithstanding. -
Quote:Judge you, no, judge your call for a nerf with no supporting data yes. The data used to support no nerf is the fact that the devs(you know the ones that actually decide what deserves to be nerfed and the power to actually nerf something), have not made any comment about the need to nerf the set. Please don't judge me. My support data: I actually play this game, who are you again?
Please nerf? Yes. Please present the data support the need for a nerf: No. I don't think you should be allowed to speak because you have no intentions besides alienating other players.
In terms of player alienation, your call for nerfing something with no supporting data is the forum poster child for that my friend.
