Quote:I think the more pressing question is what AT and powersets are Captain America. I think shield is obvious, is he a scrapper, tanker or brute? How about that primary? what is that, MA with the alternate animations or Street Justice? We also know he has crafted the temp revolver power."Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — 'No, you move.'"

TOTALLY staged. It IS show business folks.
Not my favorite type of humor by far, but I can understand how some would relate too it and find it funny.
Kinda sad but not unexpected for the rich guy(Ryan) to take some general heat and not get too much sympathy from the average working stiff...you know since he is rich and all.
Money does not bring happiness ask Tiger. -
KM/EA on a scrapper is one heck of a combo.

I have 50's Thug/Time MM, Fire/Time corr and Ill/Time troller. All excellent killers and tons of fun to play.
Pick a AT and primary you like and pair it with time for tons of fun. -
Quote:IDK, I see as more not allowing people to lie about what you said, but you and Vanden have made an excellent point.Okay.
What does that prove though? Other than you being right?
Ramming the point home that "Nothing has ever been changed simply because it was annoying" serves no purpose other than distracting from the real issues.
I say again. Let it go. Insisting on being proven right at this point, is pointless. Lets get back to discussing the real issues please.
Along those lines, I do feel that Blasters deserve a full review of the AT and powers. I also think the devs would do well in expressing the role they want Blasters to play in COX 2012 if it has indeed changed from the last time they made blaster changes. -

Quote:Good points.Heeheehee...
Of course, the reality is that Hulk is a completely broken, cheating combination of things beyond what is attainable as a player in this game...
That being said.
I do believe, thematically, Hulk is Brute incarnate!
Hulk is really more of a SS/Inv/Regen/WP GM!!
His invulnerability is greater than most... As is his regenerative properties.
So, he really has both defensive barriers at extreme levels.
Within the confines of this game, however, I do think that Will Power best represents this (with its combination of survivability benefits).
Still, I couldn't argue with /Regen... And I couldn't argue against /Inv either... But I'd pick /WP as the medium in-between the two. -
Blasters aside for a sec, are you saying that AT's that kills AV's and GM's regularly should be even MOAR powerful?

Quote:Being literal is essentially the opposite of trying to skew something as others have from the start. No I am not skewing a thing. I have be consistent in saying that I have not seen a dev post here the reason for changing any power was because it was annoying or not worth it. At least one person has already said the devs never posted "annoying" as a reason.Perhaps we're missing the point because you insist on skewing it.
I fail to see why you're so hung up on this one phrase 'Not worth taking' as if thats the only point being raised. It isn't, except by you...
Let it go. It isn't the cruz of the issue, it's a side consideration in the grand scheme. Bringing it up repeatedly serves no purpose other than spreading misinformation and making the meat of the topic that much harder to get to.
I asked which dev allegedly said that the reason they made a power change was because it was "not worth taking". I await the response to that. -
This question clearly indicates that you have either missed the point of my literal posts more than once or you are trying to wind stuff up for nothing.
-
I remember this change and I don't recall ANY dev literally stating we are changing this power because it is "not worth taking". You claim they have twice before 2007 which does not cover the five years I have been here(therefore has no place in the conversation) and claim they have said those exact words once since I have been here. Who said it, which dev used those exact words here in this forum as the basis for changing the power?

Quote:Well, it is kind of hard to argue with the literal definition of the word itself. Oh well folks will just turn it from the literal meaning into the legal standard and start trying to wind you up about that.....A couple things that deserve clarification:
#1. Gamble -
To bet on an uncertain outcome, as of a contest.
To play a game of chance for stakes.
To take a risk in the hope of gaining an advantage or a benefit.
So, let's cut the crap once and for all. Super Packs are gambling. As is going to a casino. It's just a different type of gamble. -
Maybe folks can understand it better this way. The devs when discussing powers changes in their posts here and the reasons behind making them have never in the five years I have been here posted that they were making a change literally because the power was annoying or that the power was not worth it.
I tend to communicate in an old style literally meaning "exactly" what I say no more no less no qualifiers no synonyms etc... -
Quote:Wow, I'm having flashbacks to exactly this same argument two pages ago.
First, those ARE reasons they use to change powers. They have done so a number of times. Asserting otherwise (again) doesn't make you not (still) wrong.
Second, as Lothic says in the very post you quoted, there are very strong justifications for changes, even totally aside from how players feel about the powers or the AT. Individual posters don't all have to prove their own points with ironclad logic and undisputable math; a few people with math and lots of people with gut reactions that match the math is entirely acceptable.
I have never seen any red letter use "annoying or not worth" it as reasons for changes when explaining them if you have kindly point me to the post and I will gladly accept that as fact.
I said nothing more than they don't use "annoying and not worth it" so adding that additional stuff in that I did not say is the place where you get into those self arguments. Nobody said anything about math or gut reactions, it is directly about the devs using "annoying and not worth it" as their measure for changing powers period. -

Quote:Annoying and not worth it are not reasons the devs use to change powers, which will not change based on spin doctoring.Likewise when I state that something like this is "annoying" or "not worth it" I don't personally have to come up with hard numbers to support my position when I know there are other people out there like Arcanaville who are far more willing and knowledgeable about that sort of thing. It's not just me alone blindly begging the Devs to consider something that's semi-intangible or unprovable.
Sometimes a given person just has to state the bleeding obvious and then defer to others that the bleeding obvious ALSO has real numbers to back it up.
