Solar Flare doesn't do enough damage to justify the scatter; Dawn Strike does. I don't see how you can onehit minions with it. At level 50 it has a base 67.12 damage, minions have something like 430 health. Even slotted with max damage and muscular alpha it comes nowhere close. Dawn Strike, on the other hand, has a base 216.88, and it is completely plausible to onehit minions with that. Also, Dawn Strike actually has a lower chance of knockback (75% vs 80%).

You sure you aren't confusing one with the other?
I was referring to the "effectiveness" of KB in it's entirety. That means the damage and the KB mitigation. If something is on the ground and cannot shoot me until it gets up I also consider that part effective, scattered or not.

This is why I really feel this is just personal preference and I am clear who does not like KB, a fact of which does not and will not change it's actual effectiveness. It most certainly is not as effective for hitting outdoor spawns or farming no doubt.

So once again I don't consider only a portion of the equation as the end all be all of any power which I why I enjoy the semi-chaotic nature of Energy Blasters and the PB stylistically.

It griefs how many targets you can hit with your other AOE's to the point that it's faster to not use Seekers or SF.
I didn't say anything about the levels but if you must know its 54's that I fight. The slows down spawn melting PB's and Energy Blasters are hardly the top choice for outdoor farming, but that applies to other AT's/powersets and is nothing unique to the PB.

In terms of mop up I don't have any issues with that, but I suspect those that don't take and slot the human blasts would as many have stated YMMV. Switching to nova is also clunky which would add to the annoyance factor for those it applies too. I don't and never have had this personal griefing issue and I suspect that is a YMMV deal as well.

The personal style is much like an energy blaster and that is a particular style in the minority in the game for sure.

I disagree that hitting targets with a mini nuke is ineffective. I don't know your slotting but mine kills most minions and does significant damage to those above them, which of course is what I consider effective.

I suspect you are talking solely about the directional aspect of things which I feel is shortsighted in this equation.

That would require some additional balance adjustments but I see your point.

KB in any power can absolutely be used effectively SF and PS are no exception. It is not a powerset problem it is a personal preference problem.

Been here since 2007 and this is the first I am hearing of this. I have never heard anything other than Khelds being a jack of all trades. That was from players mind you NEVER heard a dev even use that phrase referring to any of their AT's.

    Sounds dubious at best.

  9. KB is not an AT or powerset problem it is a personal problem.

Some people use KB and proper KB mitigation on the sets that have it right now just fine and like it and others prefer some other powerset or AT that does not require KB mitigation. WAI.

Regarding OP suggestion it is not bad it is good, but I think the ROA type targeted ranged option is more appealing.
  10. The March 24th Keyes disagrees with you. Maybe a few years ago, but quite a few people play them these days. They do still remain an AT that is not for everyone.

    Oh yes too true.

And I'm not really debating on whether things like this should be charged on the Paragon Market... except for VIPs who already give them money on a monthly basis.
Who said "they are hurting for money and thus will take their sweet time making things because of it." I didn't.

Results will work off of a percentage, one way 100% another way 20% slower etc, another way 30% slower.
Not really sure what you are saying but ok no worries.

  20. If you did do the melee/support deal, the support would have to some serious mez and kb protection or it would just be a hot mess.
  21. IO license is $2 or 140-160 PP's, which is a deal.

Having said that I understand if you want to go SO only period. I leveled it on a mainly SO build and it was not perma PA at that time and I did fine. Certainly not the beast it is with IO's but that is a given as NO build is as good with SO's only vs an IO build.

The only problem I foresee with Claws/Fire is that you don't have the mitigation that Foot Stamp or Overload gives you. But at the same time, a Followup-Burn-Spin-Eviscerate perma-attack-chain sounds pretty enticing. Not to mention that Overload is pointless on a farm run.
Yeah, no need for overload on a farm IMHO. There is plenty of mitigation in Claws/Fire mate. If things get too rough you can always shockwave a decent group of baddies around you.

Having said that, I have not found a need to do that unless I pulled too many groups as stuff dies fast to the perma attack chain(gotta love firey embrace). I use to use it a lot more in the small one room multiple ambush farms, but since I don't use ambush farms anymore in lieu of object farms, I don't need it as much.

And to further derail the thread, now I'm also considering a Time controller after looking at the very nice Gravity changes and looking at Electric Control for the first time. I also wonder how well Illusion Control works with Time.(no IOs again so obviously nowhere near perma PA, so how is it without Phantom Army?)
I'm leaning towards Gravity for concept and because I love the graphics, but Illusion is very nice and cool and Electric seems possibly powerful.

I may have to just make both a corruptor and controller with Time Manipulation.
Illusion time troller is wonderful I have a 50 that is rocks and is fun to play.
  24. AM/EM/HM purchasing of enhancement converters needs to go live now. No more delays.
  25. COMBINED

    Rewards

You must now be level 10 or greater to purchase Enhancement Converters from the Merit Reward Vendor.
    ===

That's great and all but mind telling us exactly when you are going to flip the switch on AM/EM/HM purchases of enhancement converters? I mean it is clear you guys are quick to nerf things, but what about this promised stuff that has been working on BETA for two months now?
