I wonder when they decided to make Double XP mods.

Quote:This is a bunch of crap. You have never played with me and have no idea wth you are talking about saying that I use exploits etc.. That is just made up BS on your part. Speak for yourself and don't try to put your behavior on me. That ish is stupid and very reflective of your own personal actions.Count me as one of many who thought his *apology* was wrong and unprofessional. You may characterize what he said as "crazy nasty" but only because he was talking to you and people like you, who actively look for exploits and when found, use them constantly until they are fixed.
The crazy nasty part from Jack was the tone and unprofessional nature of the post. He may have and did have a point to make but how he made it is where he got in trouble. That is not in dispute since he was forced to make a public apology.
Quote:His comments were not aimed at the average player, but those who exploit.
Quote:That needed to be fixed and dealt with in a way that clearly showed it was not acceptable.
Quote:The reason for his apology was the company's decision to knuckle under to the many self-centered players who thought this was the greatest thing since sliced bread and who were vocal in their displeasure at being called out for their abuse of the game system.
Quote:Unfortunately, this was also the turning point for this game's "kid glove" treatment of farmers who now blatantly abuse the system with constant advertising of farms in Atlas (not so much now that DFB has officially sanctioned farming), which was one of the big reasons I quit the game a year ago, that my beloved City of Heroes had turned into City of Farms. He should have stood by what he said, but the Company simply wouldn't allow that.
It has been a steady move towards the Double XP mods they are going to sell in the Paragon market, from patrol XP to flex mission settings and super side kicking.
All of the moves they have made point directly towards the preparation for a hybrid model that we have now and being in position to properly take advantage of new revenue streams. -
I didn't say you were rude Reppu, no need to play victim. My hands are down at my side I am not taking a shot at you it was a kid/joke to lighten the mood up a bit since there is no reason for being all tense.

Quote:The suggestion of a damaging ranged attack is a buff mate. Some scrappers do take confront mate, but hey since it is not going to happen because it is not needed, I'll just back out and let you all have at it. No worries.I'm not seeing it. If we are running an attack, we aren't doing other attacks. An actual buff is making attacks do more damage. It's not doing any more damage than we already do. It's not giving us more HP, or providing a team buff, or giving us more Def, or anything else like that. It's just another straight attack. Confront doesn't do jack right now because no scrapper actually takes and uses it.
I'm an empathetic person and try to see other sides, but we wouldn't be getting any buff. There is no buff to just giving us another tool of what we already do. There is no extra damage we would be doing.
If scrappers ever took confront and used it, then you might have a point. That would be a break in our damage chain. But since we don't, and we already have enough attacks to fill chains, then providing just another attack doesn't give us anything more than we already have. But we'd have another choice at least. -

I am damm near 50 years old and don't hang around the younger crowd that has changed the meaning of the word abuse into some slang meaning that does not really mean abuse forgive me for being slow to catch on.
-
Yes to the lack of tools to leverage normal(melee toons) ranges of a +regen. I honestly thought this was a given that folks acknowledged way back during the testing and introduction of the set. The set got a really good once over, look at what they did to Psi Shockwave.
-
It just seems like you are saying abuse is using any good power as much as it is available. That to me and at least a few others is strange.
-
Quote:And in turn since you are adding an attack that does damage it is in fact a buff mate. Confront does not damage anyone unless you slot the proc, the new attack would do damage all the time. I think that is the other side of the perspective here.I wasn't proposing any kind of buff. Just a new power choice for one that we shouldn't even have. A buff is making what we do now better. Replacing something that we share with other ATs isn't a buff.
In fact, replacing Confront (which is Taunt) with another medium melee attack doesn't change the AT any more except make us have a primary with absolutely zero frills, just straight attacking. That would fit us pretty well and make us fairly unique. -
So you "are" suggesting that people hold off using "any" power that is really good in a set as soon as it recharges like Footstomp group KD, Eagle's Claw/Cobra Strike Perma Stun, Seeds group confuse, Flashfire group stun and Drain Psyche -regen because its too good?
I guess I am saying every set has go to powers that allow you to kill the enemy efficiently which is WAI. You can perma flip Bosses with Air superiority what makes DP so special it needs a nerf.
I don't think it makes any sense not to use whatever powers you can as soon as they recharge to kill the enemy modern gaming slang aside. -
Quote:At what level is it determined to be abusive? I mean you can't use the power anymore than the amount of times it recharges in the fight. You are not suggesting that someone hold off on using "any" of there powers as soon as they recharge or are you?Sigh. Because, again, 'Abuse' has the dictionary definition and the Modern definition of slang produced by gamers. I have provided both definitions, and am rather clear when I use them.
Dictionary Definition: Abuse; ie 'the inappropriate use of something'.
Slang Definition: Abuse; ie 'the excessive use of something'.
I do not understand why I need to explain things twice. Am I really the only one living in two-thousand and twelve and have been exposed to modern gaming slang?
This is all very confusing the way you are putting it. -
Quote:The way you yelled, screamed, condescended and more the past few weeks in many threads before this latest transition I find it hard to understand this zero tolerance for taking a light hearted jab. For goodness sakes Reppu lighten up.
I am not 'thin skinned' so much as to not be able to take jabbing, I simply just have zero tolerance for it. The difference is that; zero tolerance versus not being able to take it. If I want to improve as a person, I have to stand against what others scorned me for. If we can't be professional in a discussion like this, then what's the point?
Regardless, acknowledged. Apologies for assuming you were being a derp. -
Quote:I don't think there is any real consensus beyond move them as close to tankmages as they can fool the devs into thinking they need to be.It just seems to me that everyone is comparing average blasters to spectacular (insert AT). Not only that, but they describe average blasters played by poor players that don't use inspirations, even if mezzed, don't break Line of Sight, and just run in guns (arrows, radiation...) blazing and hope they don't die..
In terms of the comparisons yes of course that is what is done to make the case look as strong as possible. Standard Operating Procedure with buff campaigns. -
Quote:NO I meant no need to overreact and think I was in some way attacking you, I wasn't and that is where you need to get the tougher skin as you are taking it too hard/be overly sensitive.Using the term 'you need to get tougher skin' means you were poking at me, an admittance by your own words. I have zero tolerance for this sort of behavior now, and will point it out when others are doing so, as many had done to be in the past. Again, kindly cease.
If I am really bothering you that much please just put me on ignore no worries. -
Quote:Ok I think I see where I have gotten off track. When he said the summon power for some reason because he was talking MM's I thought he meant the upgrade powers. Totally my bad as he really did not alluded to that, I just made the mistake myself.I believe you are confusing recharge reduction with endurance reduction. End reduction put intio a pet power reduces the cost of summoning the pet and the end cost of the pet's powers. Using sets though will only affect certain powers within a pet (slow sets will only affect powers that cause slow the pet has), but it still reduces the end cost of some of the powers.
All is well now. -
Quote:That is too narrow minded a point of view for the devs to adopt otherwise they would have nerfed rad a long time ago.Right. And that is why you're against Drain Psyche being nerfed. This is what I wanted to expose. The problem is; Drain Psyche is an outlier power, and if we want global performance buffs on Blasters to bring them in line with the other AT's, Outliers WILL need to be addressed, or else we fall into a situation where everything performs well, and then something just breaks the game.
I don't think you should get all wound up about this one hun and nobody is trying to provoke you. You need to get tougher skin. -

That is some very interesting logic you got going there lass.
