Quote:Who are these people you are complaining of? Certainly nothing in my post would qualify for that, so it is a strange thing to be quoted then the topic changed to something that does not apply to the quote because you wanted to make some "other" point.Disagree. The best thing for people who want CoH 2 is to get worked up over it, show there's desire and support for a sequel and light a fire under NCSoft/Paragon Studios.
The worst thing they can do is be those whiners who show up in every CoH 2 thread and complain about splitting the playerbase or insist that a sequel isn't needed when theres a lot of things everyone wants that just aren't feasible in the current game but would be in a sequel.
They just pretty much shuttered most EU support for the game. Do people honestly think that's a good sign? If the game doesn't get a fully updated sequel soon, there's not gonna BE a playerbase to split because they'll be shutting the game down unless something drastic is done to attract new blood.
A new expansion didn't do it. F2P conversions didn't do it. Time to get over your sequel phobia if you give a damn about CoH, because the longer they go without starting one, the more likely the future of the IP becomes a very grim one.
I don't have sequel phobia in any way and certainly not for the reasons you listed. I think it is not exactly something that they(Paragon Studios ie. the check writers) want to invest in at this time. Maybe somewhere down the line like in 5-6 years you might see something moving in that direction in a concrete way.
Right now they are still in the evaluation stages for the new F2P model and some analysis in running a game under this model needs to be made before thinking about another huge capitol investment to make a "sequel". That evaluation might just lead them to make another MMO not a second Superhero game.
That's my perspective and it could be wrong but it is based solidly in standard business practices and watching how they have handled this game since I8 when I started. -
Then I was not referring to you as one that "worked themselves up" about it mate.

Quote:Sure it was good for the game is what I meant as I explained several reasons why it was good for the game on the last page.It wasn't really 'good' in any way.
The execution sucked and he went out like a quiter.
As far as the actual execution and him going down like a quitter etc... sure that "part" could have used a good ole punch up, but his death has been a good thing for the game overall.
I am glad he is dead. -
-
I don't see why this is any kind of deal. Killing Statesman was good and it is time to move forward past his death.
-
Stalkers, Scrappers, Brutes and Tanks while melee focused ALL play differently from one another. At this point it really boils down to personal preference.
If someone drops playing scrappers for a stalker, that just says they prefer the hide and strike approach over just flipping out and killing things straight up.
While all of them are apples, they are not all Macintosh apples. I see a Granny Smith, A Rome and a Fuji in the bunch as well.
Expand your minds people. -
Quote:Done. I've tried to create a few Scrappers recently, but found myself rerolling them. Any of the newer sets where the AoE is retained is usually better on a Stalker IMO because you get better ST and decent AoE. And if I want an AoE death machine, Brutes are better because of the better aggro control.
Shield is the sole remaining set that unequivocally favors Scrappers and I already have one of those.
But then, I think the popularity of an AT is irrelevant. Blasters are very popular, but by any account they need a buff substantially more than Stalkers ever have. -
As much as I like this and many other ideas being brought forth I cannot help but think of the many things that are TOTALLY jacked up that they won't and have no plans of fixing like the PET AI.
That is something that needs to be giving priority over great stuff like this because they are in denial and are dragging their heels on fixing that stuff. Adding more stuff before fixing things like PET AI is a no sale for me at this point.
Paragon Studios needs to revamp their priorities and not just try to sell us NEW STUFF every GD Tuesday, that ish is PATHETIC. -
Quote:1600 is WAY too high for an AT regardless of the nature of it. They already established the AT prices and to go above that would need some kind of justification above what you listed IMHO.800-1600pp AT which reuses existing powersets in a different combo (ranged/defense, pets/control)
1600-2400 AT which mostly reuses existing powersets but has an inherent (like Hide) that significantly changes how it plays.
1600-2400 EAT like Khelds or SoA, which provides 3 possible builds
As a VIP, 400pts is one month of points. I can easily see 6 months worth of points being spent on an AT if I am interested in it.
Plus they need to stop thinking of new things to charge us for and fix what we already paid for like the GD PET AI. -
It is pretty disgusting to make and hype a feature like AE the way they did only to abandon it and act like it is not part of the game anymore.
I think every excuse I have seen for doing this is just that a lameass excuse. The devs need to be ashamed of themselves for just giving up like a bunch of bench warmers mad because they missed a couple of three pointers.
At the very least they need to add the new powersets on some kind of semi annual basis or SOMETHING. Don't just runaway because the battle is tough. Man/Women up WTH have some damm pride in your work for chrisses sake. -
This is straight up horse pucky. They need to fix the pet AI.
And those sucky PB drivers would do themselves some good by getting tactics and build help in the Kheld forms since they suck so bad at playing them. -
Sure, but they will never do it.
-
There is no COH2 and people working themselves up over it are doing themselves a disservice.

Quote:A-G) You didn't read and comprehend the thread and instead jumped to the wrong conclusion and then went off about the wrong conclusion.so the jist of this thread is:
a) this was a bug
b) you knew it was a bug
c) you admit it was a bug
d) but it was a bug that helped you
e) helped you in a significant statistical fashion...ie, an exploit
f) and you expected it to be fixed
g) but you'd prefer it wasn't....
okay....done with this thread.
Okies SOP around here these days. -

Quote:That's a good one.Does anyone know if April Fool's jokes from other MMO are against the rules?
The Old Republic announced the Ship Droid System for their next major patch. Now you can interact with the crew, repair the ship, cook meals for the crew, and other exciting tasks that only droids have the stomach for. -
Based on some of the outrage it had better be Clowns for MM's or we might have ourselves an old fashioned riot around these parts.

Quote:My comments about crazy nasty were not stated as some kind of proof of anything other than what I felt about them YMMV.So would you care to summarize exactly what he said and what was wrong with them? Because "It was crazy nasty" sounds like....rather an exaggeration from what I remember, and the fact that he later apologized doesn't do much to convince me that you're not embellishing, given that people often have to apologize when they haven't done anything wrong. It's like the "placate" of the business world.
I have my opinions of Jack Emmert, to be sure, but I ground those in things that I can specifically reference.
You can put whatever spin on a public apology that you want mate, its over now. Cheers. -
I thought the anger was faux kind of like a reverse April fools joke. Guess not?

Quote:Same price as current AT's, but it would have to be really creative/innovative, not too strong, not too weak etc.... I think you guys would be asking for trouble, but I would not oppose it.I think you underestimate our desire to expand the game in more creative ways.
Counter question:
Let's say, hypothetically, we introduced a new AT, but because of the amount of time and cost it would take to develop it, we had no choice but to offer it in the Paragon Market (a possible scenario).
Based on our established precedents, what do you feel would be a fair price, in Paragon Points?
I'm interested in your responses. -
The second upgrade power gives your 2nd tier clown pets STAFF FIGHTING! It's a shame the clowns got staffs before the players.
-
Quote:In jest for sure. I mean I can think of at least a couple of players the devs are in love with based on the interaction here in the forums. That is the classic joking type statement made when you have real affection towards someone. He said in a recent interview that the only people the devs hate more than the players are themselves.
