Quote:Come on girl, no need to get all personal, you don't know me or my personality any better than I know you and your personality. We're comedy lunch hour.
And yeah, more or less confirmed Khasei's personality. Going with the protocol!
I do like this persona a bit better than the one during BETA testing of BM, that girl was "special". -

Bosstone, everything is going to be ok. I am capable of dealing with the personal attack deal, no need to jump in again drawing attention to yourself. Stepping out of something that you really were not involved would be a good idea at this point. YMMV.

Quote:I have, but now you don't want to stand up for yours that have nothing to do with me, like this name calling deal. That's low brow and it will be resolved organically.Cowaaaaaaaaaard. Fight for your beliefs or don't claim to have them!
In the interim I will ask you to cut out the personal attacks and name calling while you are here. -
Quote:That link is a consolidation of the legitimate complaints and feedback for the devs expressed here since I22. A lot of what is in that post was posted here at attacked by a few people with extreme positions eventhough the complaints have serious merit.Well, the reasons for the outrage are outlined on this post right here:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=176
While there are some outrage in these forums that can be considered childish, the link above explains my own outrage towards the non-release of Staff.
A dev reading that post will at least be able to see the truth without any other filters. -
Moar evidence that people don't really understand typed communications as well as face to face. You have agreed with my positions many more times than not. No worries though, everything will be alright.

If durability is a question when you are driving a scrapper then there is a very strong possibility you are doing something that could be improved upon significantly.

Quote:No you swung the Reppu sword(very sharp one) after I mentioned something that struck the cord of where you were deep down in the first place is all. The passion and vigor in which you leaped in is all you and I take ZERO credit for same.... I did just realize I swung a sword due to Khasei. That was a bit foolish of me. Oh well.
Either way, the primary issue at hand is that, even if it IS Khasei who opened the flood gates, it is legitimate enough. And now I'm taking the reins that Khasei dropped. He may have very well did this on purpose to just get someone to actively step up.
... Which I should have realized right away when he didn't confront Geko himself to argue why his case is legitimate. Oh well, I want to give Geko that chance before reporting his posts. He DOES deserve that, even if I firmly feel he's wrong.
It is ours own it baby. -

Quote:Objective has nothing to do with it when the OP admits in his first post he is doing things that are clearly against the rules.Khasei isn't being terribly objective about the rules anyway, so I wouldn't follow his lead. He's unhappy that he got modded for crossing rules that, in his opinion, others have also crossed but not been modded for. It's a heavy chip on his shoulder that he carries. The only people that can accurately interpret the rules are the mods.
No worries though, these things will work themselves out organically and all is well. Cheers. -
Quote:That is not what is being disputed in terms of the post. There is an extremely narrow ledge you parked yourself on when you said it is more "straightforward". The mere fact that there is that mechanic in the way for one and not for the other is where it is not as straightforward. Please explain to me how player awareness of fury has any impact whatsoever on the fact that a low level, soloing brute will be getting ~150% +damage full time simply by virtue of the fact that they're using attacks and being attacked. I don't see it, unless you're also assuming that the new player will be pausing for undue periods of time between spawns. If that's the assumption, why should we assume that they're competent in any other way? Perhaps they're going to take nothing but pool powers!
I don't think anyone is disputing any of the 'other" facts/positions you have made, it is only that "one" thing only. -

Quote:Fury is not rocket science but it is not more straight forward than just flipping out and killing stuff.A brute is probably more straightforward than a scrapper since fury completely dominates everything at low level and masks slotting deficiencies at higher levels. Sure, a player as green as this may not exactly understand fury, but who says you have to understand it for it to be effective? Just about any primary would be good, as would most secondaries: the fact that all of them are sticky is another point toward ease of use for novices.

Quote:Nah, its necroing when you are reaching back six months and I didn't make the rules, I just advocate that they are in fact enforced equally for all which is currently not the case here in the forums.I don't see how a thought-out response to an older thread that's on-topic to what you want to talk about is non-constructive. Yeah, you can always start a new thread, and of course you'll get slammed by people saying there's already existing threads about the subject and you should work on your search-foo.

Quote:You are winning..... at misunderstanding the position and that is a shame.Ya, melee got alot of love lately and is dominant in game atm. Let the other people, especially masterminds, have their candy. They went from good, to no new power sets while everyone else got them, to end game content that destroys their pets. They've also been waiting longer than you. Chill your jets.

Quote:That is why I found it so fascinating how some people view this issue. Not right or wrong per se just different. But it says "easiest" in the subject line, hah. I think the most important thing to consider when you're talking about getting a new player into the game is how much fun they'll have. If they're immediately presented with hurdles and difficulties, especially like the OP mentioned they have no previous MMO experience, I would say a more challenging AT/combination would be likely to leave a bad taste in their mouth and stop playing the game more than anything else. It really would probably be best to start off in easy mode, get to learn how the basic stuff works in relative ease, like the UI, where stuff is, how the map works, where to find contacts and just basic playing through the content.

Quote:This is a fascinating perspective. As far as the easiest- definitely one of the melee ATs. That is not, however, what I would recommend to a new player. I would recommend a Blaster- not because of it's performance, but because of what it teaches you. If you start playing melee ATs from the beginning, then try any of the squishies, you will be like a fish out of water and flop around lamely until giving up and going back to the tough guys. A Blaster also teaches you the value of having a team- a new player would have a fairly tough time soloing with one. As well as learning to think about a fight and not just charging in every time.
So yes, I'd recommend a Blaster. Not because it is good (it isn't), but because of what it teaches you. -
Quote:I think most people do recognize "exactly" what you are saying and for various reasons already listed they are not happy with the decision.Im surprised people don't understand why the Devs are producing things like Lions, Ligers, and Panthers. They spent a lot of time and skill developing a 4 legged rig and cat movements to make a lioness. They can triple their sales for a fraction of the time already invested simply by taking the lioness and putting other feline graphics on her. As you should know by now, Theres more than one way to skin a cat.
Not that they are right or wrong, but it is not like they are dumb and unable to comprehend things either.
