Quote:Utopia...What's the deal with your sig mate???? Are you implying something? The only reason I played redside before was to see the new content and have access to exclusive AT's and powersets. Well I've seen the content with 8 lvl 50 villains. And now that I have proliferation and can make any AT I want and go blueside with it, I rarely return to redside. I just don't prefer it.
P.S. Anything to fight less Longbow, amiright?
I ask because.....well let's just say it looks kind of suggestive. -
Quote:That's not a total view of the set and as such one has to wonder have you played it on BETA yet? If so....I am clueless that you missed 1/2 of what the set is about....Soooo....
Staff Fighting is a smashing/lethal melee set with long animations that requires you to hit several times in a row to be able to activate its unique power.
Wonder where I've seen that before?
I'd like to believe the current powers team has more than one idea on how to create a power set, but they're not giving me much reason to do so. -
Quote:I am not going to slam you, but I think this has more to do with your personal perspective vs the reality of human beings over recorded history.Humans generally prefer helping and protecting instead of hurting and destroying, so evil content will always have a much more limited appeal - and as a business, Paragon Studios needs to appeal to as many people as possible.
Having said that I think the appeal of the "red side" or "evil" is very strong in these games. Villians would not have even been made if that were not the case. Not to mention a very popular space game that has two E's in the name and the other one with laser swords.
Evil has a consistent appeal in these games and always will. -

Quote:Hmm..I didn't like First Ward, so I'm probably not gonna touch Night Ward. I kind of wish they'd continue with the quality and stories established in GR's 1-20 content than shoehorn us all into Resistance and kick us out of the city into some random barren wasteland.

I think they just need to keep in mind the T rating when doing anything furry. We cannot even post a picture of a real dead horse here so a lot of that furry action would be banned.

Quote:Line Noise made this post in the Hetacomb thread:To me it sounds like they're just moving forward with the entire idea. However, they did not like the oversight of Performance Shifter SBE proc and passive endurance powers synergizing so well together. Only thing is that now the SBE is terrible in any other powers so it's pointless.
I like to think that this was an isolated incident and will not happen again in the future (I know that sounds silly).
I'm still very unhappy about how the whole thing was handled and how there's no way get any refund on this. I PM'd Zwill about it and have yet to hear a response.
Quote:I think that the introduction of new purple SBE sets, even on Beta, is sending a *really* bad message when you guys *still* haven't said anything publicly about how you're planning on resolving the PPM vs. %proc debate.
You said in the last thread that you were planning on introducing *just* Hecatomb, then pulling it to gauge the results. Now it looks like you're about ready to go for the cash-grab, and to hell with the playerbase's concerns about pay-to-win and game balance.
I'm... not happy with this. Not that you are required to *care*, really, but I want to state that I'm quite displeased with the overall handling of the SBE and PPM debate. I know a little bit about how development works, so I wasn't expecting an immediate answer to the PPM question, because it takes time to test, have meetings, test some more, have more meetings, etc. But with the introduction of the rest of the purples, you're making it look like we're being actively ignored, rather than just understandably delayed. -
Quote:Yes, I would have to agree feedback needs to be informative for the devs otherwise it is useless.First, let me say that I appreciate the civility
Also, I COMPLETELY agree that the publicizing of these rewards, the time constraints, etc. has been a botched job, at best.
To be brief: I would not presume to tell anyone how to respond, hence my use of the word "suggest." I apologize if it came off that way. But telling the Devs "this sucks" or "you're better than this" accomplishes nothing but letting them know that we are displeased with what they are offering. I simply suggest telling them why it sucks, and offering ideas of how it could have been better, in order to give them a better idea of how to appeal to their customer base in the future.
Objective feedback on the items, that is. The marketing of this still plain sucked -
Quote:They should have done just brainstorm drops and let us craft what salvage we wanted.I think this idea has merit. Some salvage, particularly low level stuff, is nigh never used, while the high level stuff is both high price and high demand. And not always high in stock. Consolidating the salvage into smaller groups would mean that more would likely be in stock at any given time. I guess *shrug*

Some of these ideas are not bad and I would support the devs at least taking a look at them. As most of you know that is quite the opposite of my usual position regarding player driven change ideas for Khelds.
What can I say you guys have come up with better ideas this time around. -
Roger. Maybe I overreacted because I hate politics and everything that goes with it. Sorry.

Quote:While the devs don't feel KB is a problem, this has to be the single best solution suggested that I have seen for those bellyaching about KB powers in a KB powerset. Yes slot it and STFU TYVM.But some players love the knockback in Energy Blast. I depend on it with one of my defenders.
What they need to do is make a new IO set in the Knockback category named 'Suppression'. (Or 'Swan's Suppression' if you want flavor.) It should be a set with heavy +damage and +accuracy, with one proc IO that restricts the KB magnitude to 0.67 in the power you slot it in. Everyone who wants to convert KB to KD will buy and slot that proc. Problem solved. -

Ugh, this thread has taken a nasty looking pseudo political slant. EEK!
-
Quote:Yeah, I have to say this is pretty GD annoying that there are some that won't except that every AT or powerset may just not be for everyone. If they want KD then there are a ton of powersets that have KD go get one of those and leave KB powersets alone.Leave my energy blaster alone!
The set works well if you know how to play it. Your KB is my KD because I use a simple trick, easily repeated. I call it 'Hover'.
People that play energy blasters and PB's know how to deal with KB, use it to their and their teams advantage and don't want it changed period. -

Quote:"Not a fight or argument", but I find some of the things you are saying a little off and let me explain.Personally, I am going to reserve judgement until I see the pieces for myself, on characters I create. I can only suggest everyone else do the same. While I am all for giving feedback, we should be sure to direct our feedback towards specific groups, and keep it objective.
Let us remember: these are loyalty rewards. They are giving us stuff simply for continuing to pay to play. They do not have to do this since, thanks to the hybrid business model, the argument could be made that our "loyalty" is rewarded by anything we get for free (as VIPs) in issue releases. If you are not pleased with the rewards, then do as you do when you receive an undesired gift from your grandmother: smile, say thank you, and then ignore it after that.
I would hate for next year to roll around and for people to be asking about an absent loyalty rewards program, only for us to get the response: "We did not receive enough positive feedback last year to warrant devoting developing time to loyalty rewards this year."
Anyone can look at the previews and extrapolate what the masks will look like on their toons, many don't need to see it on their toon to see they don't like it and that kind of thing is very YMMV.
I don't think anything is wrong with expressing that you don't like the design, not everyone has the same tastes and you are bound to have people dislike the design. Telling people how they should express their dislike when they are not breaking the rules comes off as control freakish, might want to dial that back a bit or not....
"If" the devs decide they don't/won't do another loyalty program so be it, I don't think people not liking the design of the helms is the people's fault they just have different tastes and take no "blame" for dev decisions about what is offered for a loyalty program if anything.
The players had zero participation in the design of the helms so it is no different than the hit and miss of any other costume item, some like it some don't which is nothing new in this area.
