  1. Actually I HATE the 20 hour cool downs on the various items in the game with the intensity of 100 million Suns.

    So NO!

Likewise, you shouldn't be dictating to others what their experience should be like.

Think of it this way. If this was a single player game, and you unlocked all of its goodies by playing the game straight through, would your feelings of accomplishment be at all diminished if you found out that your next door neighbor, who was also playing the game, decided to use a cheat code to get everything?

I don't care what anyone else does in this game or how they do it. Even if I get frustrated sometimes by market fluctuations, lol! No one's giving out real gold medals if you only use the /ah command in "emergency situations". And beyond the PvP zones, we're not even playing against each other. I'm not racing anyone else to get the most purple IOs in the shortest amount of time. I play the game the way I play it for the joy it brings me to play it that way.

I get the feeling sometimes that many of the forumites here have long lost the forest for the trees.
Excellent, excellent post. It just shows how much the unstoppable urge to control what others are doing/are able to do is in real life.

People have a seriously hard time just doing their own thing without trying to measure that against what others are doing and then taking it the final step to then try to control what "other" people can do/are doing....

It is one of those seriously pathetic things about human beings that if not consciously combated can creep in there unsuspectingly and causes unneeded trouble every single time.

It doesn't matter if you never buy it yourself, the simple fact that the option exists, lessens the value of earning it. If NO ONE ever buys it and everyone only ever earns it, earning it is still cheapened by the mere possibility of buying it.

It seems a rational, if weird, position. I don't feel that way in general, but it doesn't seem crazy or anything.
Hmm...IDK something is a foot here. This appears like he is saying something like what people were saying about how "other" people being able to PL to 50 cheapened "their" experience to 50 just because the ability to do so is there even if they don't PL themselves.

Yeah that's just an old regurgitation of the wanting to control what "others" do/can do mentality seen in these types of cases dressed up in a new Sunday suit.

Want evidence? Look up -any- game in history. Slowly, games die. I didn't say it would just shut down tomorrow.. but in a few years.. yeah.

Sorry but you sound like your in denial like anyone else who thinks this game is going to outlast time. I'm sure you believe that you will never leave this earth am I right?

All I'm saying is, and what the video is saying is that power creep is bad because it alienates players and makes players reconsider playing the game. And if people don't play the game, the game eventually loses money. Then it loses support and thus it is technically 'dead'.

Anyone else wanna argue that any game doesn't slowly 'die' ?
I never said a GD thing about this or any game being around forever. Is this what kids do today make stuff up instead of providing the proof to support their overstatement?

    Whatever...Pfft.

What evidence do you have to support this statement "exactly"?

Oh so true my friend. The worse cases are the one's that desire to "control" what you do in the game you pay your 15 bucks a month to play.

What you are doing is making a distinction regarding the "form" of gambling not the gambling itself. People that "only" want the Elemental costume for instance are gambling that they roll the parts needed and lose if they don't get them. The fact that they get "something" is a qualifier, but it does not erase the gamble.

I make no moral judgments but it is gambling none the less.
  13. Yes, that was an interesting video. Thanks for sharing.

Nope the game is far from dead. PvP could be this terrible because the devs at that time in their infinite wisdom decided to listen to the wrong person/people and buggered it up in and effort to "balance" things.

PvP at that time needed some work but they just straight up broke it.

A lot of the people that did care left.

You can parse the actions whatever way you like but any game of chance that involves anything of monetary value is gambling.

For the record in case you missed my other posts on this issue I could care less what people do and I am not trying to control their gambling habits etc... IDC about any of that ish. I was just dealing with the literal definition not the morality etc...

If that's the extent of it, then I'll admit slight overreaction on my part.

It'd still be nice to have the EO parts available outside, even if it was a limited time deal for two weeks like the Halloween/Valentine/Pocket D costumes, but (failing that) if the Super Packs aren't going away from the Market then I'd consider (money and points depending) breaking down one day and going for it on Live.

(I did test them out on Beta, but they were free at the time.)
Yes they appear to be waiting for you and others to "breakdown" as well. I have never liked how they have handled the Supergamble Packs and the exclusives and the latest statement by Z makes it no better.

Despite them saying they are not closed I think this is a bit more accurate. They certainly seem to be rather slow in their thinking about the delivery system.

Any game of chance that involves anything of monetary value is gambling.

Pretty much this and nothing more. If you can't get on this train you are just going to be late to the game.

If their defense they did say they were not closed just not for sometime. If they wait more than 6 months that is pushing it, a year would be a bummer but never? Nah never is for scrubs.

Full stop... I disagree and on that note we can just agree to disagree on this subject.

The good thing as I see it there is no change to the power and that is all that really matters as I see it.

Outlier a power that if they were making the set from scratch today would be different less powerful and possibly different mechanics/gimmicks. Not something that throws things out of whack balance wise.

Overpowered a power like PSW use to be. One that throws the balance out of whack and must be brought into check for the overall balance of the set..

They appear to want to do it via some method but just not yet. Why would you then have a negative support position since they already want to do it?

If this were a statement made by a dev then I would agree with this position, but it is not so I have other thoughts about their non actions based on their actual statements.

I think I am in good standing with agreement in the "outlier" statement, but the stretch to "overpowered" is one I can't make.
