just currious.. is MA content with toons set to heroic? I mean i rarely have any issue on any content with heroic.. Is ma the same? or is stuff that much harder?
[/ QUOTE ]
MA content is MUCH easier on Heroic of course. However, the real problem is many many many people DON'T like turning down their difficulty level and take it a a personal offense to do so.
What is still occurring is the I do it on this level in PvE I "should be able to do the same on MA, blame the author 1 star ragequit.
People still need to recognize MA critters are tougher than PvE critters period. I still have NOT seen anyone say I was on Heroic and I ragequit because it was too hard. -
Based on some of the "interesting" post regarding some having something against mezzing opponents, a tag in the description filed like the EB/AV tag might be helpful to those looking to avoid mez enemies.
Some "do" avoid mez enemies in the PvE game 1-50 so, this is to be expected. A quick tag like(EB/AV is 3rd mission), Some mez or light or heavy mez etc.. could help people looking to avoid these enemies all together. -
This thread going really well I see.
-
DB does seem weak. On the other hand SS/BS/WM/MA are really hard hitters. Rage+KO Blow+ Footstomp =dead player toon if those two hit, which they do even through soft capped defense with relative ease.

You bet Rev. Good looking out.

Bad Thing #1: Giving Force Field set to an EB.
Bad Thing #2: Giving Force Field set to an EB.
Bad Thing #3: Giving Force Field set to an EB who appears in the arc three times!
Seriously, spending the entire fight either in Detention or having Force Bolt spammed at you is just going to lead to your players Rage-quitting and giving you a low rating.

This almost sounds like a canon story-arc redside.

Blue side too. -
Drag the mission book in front of the other to change order for testing.

Man that is sweet wish my dad did something like that to me
[/ QUOTE ]
Real men and good fathers are very rare. I have been blessed with both in my life and Rev. sounds like my kind of Real Man/Father. -
Fun or Farms it matters not to me I do both at the same time.
-
You sound like a GREAT dad. My Dad use to play slot cars and electric trains with me and my brother when we were young. It was not until many years later when I found out he didn't even like slot cars or trains but did it to spend more time with us.
It actually brought a tear to my eye as I began to realize the unconditional love he showed us as kids. Your son will remember this time for a lifetime. Cheers to you mate. -

2. Ticket farms
I've actually played a few of these out of curiosity, and other than the fact that there is absolutely no story attached and they generally take place on one of the popular maps, it's unclear to me why they are any better for generating tickets than any story arc with, you know, an actual story. I'm sure Darth will be along to laugh at me and say I'm doing it wrong, but that's his prerogative.

I won't say that you are doing it wrong mate. The real farmers know how to do it and thats all that counts. They harbor no ill will towards any non farmers. Anti farmers...well they can suck a rotten egg. -

If you play on Heroic then the AV will spawn as a boss.
Also, Consider this: I just published my arc last night, ran it with a team of friends, and they all said the Elite Bosses were too easy for a team and should be made into AV's. Now the only way for the mission to have an AV at the end is to create it as such in the critter creator.
But a solo player gets around having to fight an AV by setting his difficulty lower. Problem solved.
So, no disrespect here, but I don't see this as a problem for the mission creator, but the player. MA missions are different from what the devs have given us before. The normal difficulty settings that you got used to using may need re-thinking. This isn't the mission designer's fault.
MA mission designers really have their hands tied in a number of ways. I know with my arc I had to do the best I could with a system that is, shall we say, "particular." I wanted to place encounters in specific spots. I wanted to make spawn sizes larger. I would like to specify that an AV be made into a boss for a team of 1 or 2 players. None of these things I can do. Giving a "meh" rating to a story because you like to play with your difficulty higher than it really should be for MA arcs is rather unfair, IMHO.

This this this^^^ -
No some scale and some are hardcoded to never scale(PvE's). ALL of the CREATED AV's scale down.
-
Yep they are datamining.
HOF is attainable for sure. You might have to spend 20-100 million influence "promoting" your arc, but sure it can be done. Get creative people. -
I have to say this is not something that I could see being constructive in any way whatsoever.
If you actually do an arc, then there is a in game feedback system to deal with your thought that goes directly to the author.
I really don't see what constructive purpose coming to the forum and critque griefing them does. I think it may also be against forum rules. Let see what Mod08 thinks. -
Yes as used there an "ask", is indeed a reference to the "possibility" that they may need to adjust their diff.
-
Optimal balance? Hmm shall we ask the devs about that one.
There is none. Best you can do is make it balanced as you see it, give plenty of warning about a challenge EB/AV, put an ask in the description for the player to ADJUST their diff level as warranted. Even the devs can't make it balanced for all peoples skills set, AT's, powerset combos and difficultly levels. -

I'd love for my contact to be able to use the new Mystic Fortune Power to "read" a character's future and give them a random buff or debuff before doing one of the missions in my arc
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as you realize most players avoid enitre arcs due to what you described. Well at least the debuffing part..walks away muttering something about a wasting disease debuff from a current PvE arc.... -
This is a nice direction of discussion.
I add allies and its up to the player to ditch them or not. Its ALSO the authors responsibility to warning that an arc has an EB/AV and that it may be a challenge. As an author I ALSO feel its to the authors benefit to include an ask in the description to lower difficultly if not looking for a challenge.
It is the PLAYERS responsibilty to read the above and lock away the e-penie when visiting the field analyst/fateweaver to lower the difficulty when needed.
If you on whatever AT cannot do an MA mission on Level 1, then leave a note to the author stating same and your AT and powersets as well as SO or IO build. -
Your post indicates you missed the point, but the intellect you have shown previously indicates that you didn't. No worries mate do "your" thing.
-
Acceptance sure no choice. Acceptance as good, ok or not being able to be improved, nah, I'll still speakout and support the better soultions offered up during open.
-
I beg to differ. 2 or 3 stars I'd agree, but there are too many confessed preference, difficulty and theme one star bandits going around to mark that up to bad arcs.
