  1. Your example is nothing more than "your choice" to be farmed. Now somehow AE is bad or needs to be adjusted to stop you from being "tempted" to play in a way that gains faster xp than another way, that's absurd.
  2. Play the game the way you like it and don't worry about what other things people are doing that "you" don't like to do. The number of ways to play this game is as varied as the number of people playing it.

Remove the AE buildings from Atlas Park, Steel Canyon and Talos.

I think a better solution would be to make some change that will make it undesirable or impossible for level 50 characters to use the AE facilities in the lower level zones.

For example, the AE building in Atlas could only allow characters up to level 10 into missions. KR would allow up to level 15, Steel Canyon and Skyway to 20, Talos to 30, etc.

This would return us to the status quo (on Freedom) where the farm spam was concentrated in PI, and caused two or three instances of PI to persist pretty much 24/7.

Horrifically bad idea and defeats the entire auto ex/sk systems purpose which allows friends of all levels to mish without need to worry about enough mentors.

    [ QUOTE ]
The devs should not concentrate on eliminating farming, but eliminating behavior that annoys or impedes other players. Constantly spamming "3 more spots on AE farm" every few seconds is just as obnoxious as two nitwits yammering about who is more l33t on the broadcast channel.

I don't really care what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own missions, but the rest of us should not be subjected to advertisements on how much they charge per run for PLing lowbies.

Ignore spammer/ignore was put there for a reason, use it.

    [ QUOTE ]
The EULA should be clarified to identify charging other people for teaming as prohibited conduct. It already forbids spamming and advertising, and broadcasting your fee for PLing lowbies is obviously spamming and advertising. Players should be banned for soliciting influence for PLing.

The current farming in AE eliminated the for profit farming. Anyone paying to be farmed before was silly now with AE it would just be insane. The devs saw no need to ban for pay farms when they were operating now that they are not, they most likely see less reason.
  4. Quick with datamining to support the changes if any.
  5. Classic not in my backyard syndrome is what is the problem. Its an MMO with lots of people with varied taste and AE is new and shiney. Everyone just needs to calm down and play the game their way and things will work themselves out as they always do. Seriously.
  6. The suggested "fixes" don't make any sense in light of the recent changes and current direction of the game today.

I think the devs have thought all of this out very well, have the actual datamining info and if "they" feel there needs to be adjustments made there will be. They have this covered and don't need any help in this area.

I think the devs should continue to ignore the howls of the few that wish to lord over and control their fellow players gaming experience.

  7. Like I said the devs have xp/inf/merits/tickets/salvage etc.. under control and there is no pressing need to change anything at this time.
  8. Instead they allow the user to turn off "their" xp gains if they feel they are leveling too fast. The devs don't make any provisions for those players that want to control "others" xp gains, since the devs themselves have that covered just fine.
  9. Short of them playing every single arc this is the best they can do to be somewhat fair to everyone.
  10. Its better than nothing and certainly better than nothing until the devs develop one. Word of mouth is the way these things get around and it works. I saw a friends arc go from 8 plays to more than 80 this week due to tags. YMMV.
  11. I have had fun with the system. While not perfect its very flexible to suit the many different desires of the playerbase. I think its been the best add on to COX ever.
  12. Perhaps you were not aware of the [tags] system story arc authors have come up with to eliminate the need to deal with "mission bloat". Check into it.

The other part is DOOM and I won't address that.
  13. Yet another I know whats better for the game than the devs threads. Horrible superfluous "fixes" are not being solicted by the devs to my knowlege.

The devs have this covered and are basing any changes on datamining not the repeated rant cries of the same vocal minority. Its not like people didn't bring these things up 5,000 times once MA was announced, they did.

People need to move on and play the game their way and let the devs do the policing.
  14. EM is dangerous and dangerous is good for an AV IMHO. SS and MA are nasty too at high levels. Rock N Roll!
  15. LOL mate. As much as people hate it they "HAD" to nerf any outliers on merits because of the way the system is setup.

However, I think that introducing another avenue via tickets and changing the weight of drops was a good move. The best way to leverage the lewt in this game is to get some of all the various forms. It adds to the flexibility you have when you go to set IO your toon.
  16. Well, the grief voting and preference down voting were things we discussed in open a lot. Many people thought it was a non-factor.

I really don't know how much of a factor it is, but I do know it is occurring and it really has to be expected from human beings.

To me if you can get a 4 star arc and a lot of plays thats the best you can expect unless you take some seriously pro-active steps to account for the bad people and those that just do get it.
  17. I think its tough to keep a 5 star rating due to a number of factors that each author has very little control over if any.

My take on the ratings system is at this point if you can maintain a 4 star rating past 20-30 plays you are doing good.

If you want to go for DC or HOF you need to make something fresh and that stands out. Then you will need lots of support to get at least 20-30 5 star ratings. Once your arc starts to get attention things will kep going at 5 stars or it will drop to 4 really fast due to the balance grief voters. If you can get past them you are golden as they represent a minority of the playerbase. If they catch you early you are sunk and republishing might be th best option.
  18. 1 on the "T" scale. Not a very original T post.

  20. Static not static you cannot exceed the cap which is the important issue.
  21. They already determined that the cap is obviously at least 7000 or higher, can't you see that?
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    Ticket Cap
Tickets show up in Salvage under the Special tab. The limit to the amount of Tickets you can hold is 9,999. Also, there is a mission limit to tickets. The developer, pohsyb, said that there is a formula based on cap per spawn times spawns per mission which caps the number of Tickets one can earn from any particular mission. That cap is set very high and would take a single player running through a mission spawned for eight to hit that cap.

Tickets earned over either cap are lost. Tickets over the cap, however, do count for a series of badges which counts these lost, over-the-cap tickets.
