High level noobs don't bother me, that's what the kick button is for. My only beef with Farmitect Entertainment is the insane amount of spam it generates on the broadcast channel. Nothing else about AE bothers me. I think it needs its own chat subheader on the main pane, right there with local, broadcast, team, etc. There will be a transition period where people learn to use the new channel, but frankly, unless AE gets nerfed to the point where nobody uses it anymore the spam is gonna keep on rolling. Might as well give it someplace to spill off to.

the latest info on the coming features:
    [ QUOTE ]
Enhanced searching and navigation options like key phrase tagging and arc difficulty display help players find the content they're looking for even faster
    New Server-wide Architect Chat channel
Plus several other features and improvements to Mission Architect

    [/ QUOTE ]

As with every MMO, new issue and some events there is an increased amount of spam during certain times. This ALWAYS dies down. In the meantime rest assured that the devs are working on ways to improve the overall experience for everyone in the game and the new AE channel is a step in that direction. Good things come to those that wait.
  2. People not knowing how to play their toons is a totally separate issue.

In terms of the cap the "devs" set the cap and "they" are the ones that decide what is too high or not.

In addition, since the amount of anyone's inventory is 9,999, there is no way that you "received" 16,000 tickets. Please don't tell me you "counted" any past 9,999 as received as that would lack sound rationale.
  3. I want them to allow for more user flexibility in the custom critters. There are currently some changes on test that limit the minions to no mez protection on the low setting. I do agree that we need more control over the critters powers.

Of course they needed to add a ranged attack to all melee sets etc.., but we still need more control.
  4. That's what the per mission ticket cap is a limit on the rewards.
  5. I really think that a glass half full take on things. Maybe people that "think" like you will do that but not everyone.

I came to the game as I8 hit. The first month was nothing like the next six months. It took me a good six months to learn all of the ins and outs so to speak.

I could have left then for VARIOUS reasons, one being xp was dreadful 1-30 making the "need" for that first respec more urgent for newer players, oh fun fun, NOT. XP was absurd in the 30's prior to xp smoothing making 1-50 a grind in many peoples eyes. However, there was enough here to keep me going.

The point is some people will come and stay some will come and go and the reasons are a varied as the number of people in the game.
  6. Interesting first post. For your edification:

    Ticket Cap
Tickets show up in Salvage under the Special tab. The limit to the amount of Tickets you can hold is 9,999. Also, there is a mission limit to tickets. The developer, pohsyb, said that there is a formula based on cap per spawn times spawns per mission which caps the number of Tickets one can earn from any particular mission. That cap is set very high and would take a single player running through a mission spawned for eight to hit that cap.

Tickets earned over either cap are lost. Tickets over the cap, however, do count for a series of badges which counts these lost, over-the-cap tickets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In other words the devs have this covered and had it covered prior to the release of I14. So they have a cap so large even those using the comm officers can't surpass it. Having said that outliers like the comm officers needed to be adjusted.

People especially new people need to recognize the new issue ALWAYS has a hot period(first month or so) then things calm down and settle into the normal COX pattern. This pattern includes many different players with many different playstyles and im sure at least a few groups of people with your playstyle.

Thus my request to stop SPAMMING

Ignore and Ignore as spammer features work really realy well.

    1) Posi may have been using the word "farmers" to refer to people using exploits or breaking rules, not the way I and others use that word (someone who has a playstyle of seeking better reward rates, usually without exploits or breaking rules.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yep.
  9. Those badge farmers with their 600 plus badges better run....

My wife and I must be far more selective in our MA missions, because we've play several hours on multiple characters and have not leveled quickly.

We played four hours (in two tough mission arcs, duo on herioc) and only gained just under two levels (went from early 20 to almost 22).

Perhaps if we had been playing a full team on a higher difficulty we would have leveled faster. But playing small group on heroic, I'm not seeing much difference at all in XP gain.

Our experience with MA so far is playing characters ranging from 1-32, on heroic with groups ranging from 1-4 players.

This isn't a problem, because we're not concerned with leveling quickly; we just want to play and have fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now see this is how things should be. You and your group of players playing the game your way. You are enjoying it and having so much fun, you are not worried about what others are doing, nor do you feel a strange human desire to control what they are doing. Cheers.

My best guess FWIW is that Posi had two goals in mind: 1) that any imbalances in AE be corrected, and 2) that all missions should at least be dressed up in a smidgin of story. But you are free to disagree with me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is how I see it as well.
  12. This has been suggested before. Of course as explained before it defeats the entire purpose of the "feature" of auto/sk. It is there to make it easier for me and my mates of various levels to experience great MA content like Above Mars Part 1-The Wellington together across a wide variety of levels without "having" to worry about balancing the "wider" band level of toons.
  13. QR

Two sides? I only see the one side that "counts", the "devs". Players can have 50 sides for all its worth, the devs are the only side I care about.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Force factions to include minions, bosses, and LTs. Whatever rules you gotta put in place to ensure some level of challenge, so that enemies can fight back and offer ordinary rewards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a horrifically bad suggestion. The devs have the entire reward vs risk thing covered. Expoitable things like vamp chambers, snake eggs, out of whack xp giving critters have been removed.

People need to understand MA at this point has no exploits and if it does "you" need to report them to the devs. Repeated crying about the non exploit level at which "the devs" have decided to have things like xp smoothing, patrol xp, xp in MA at this point in game is ridiculous.

The self righteousness of this thread goes over the top even for these boards.

The solution if you have "City of Farming Angst" is to realize the problem lies with you and get over it.

  16. That is what anyone looking at the facts would conclude faced with the reality of what we have in the game today.

I'm also a little distressed that the stories I put a lot into are not accessed as much as farm stories, may not be given as many stars as farm stories. That's my problem because my expectations were different -- I was sure that good stories would be valued in AE/MA (and it's my ego pricked, too, because naturally I thought my stories are good. )

So, all in all, I am concerned that AE/MA has become a farming community.

    Thanks,
    Risha

If you really are interested in your story arcs getting played put them in your sig, join the Ma arc Finders channel its cross sever and very active, read the [tags] posts here and use them. I have zero understanding of anyone complaining about their arc not getting played that has not done the above and more with over 100,000 arcs to choose from plus the PvE, PvP content.
  18. That is a text wall full of doom mate, nothing more nothing less.
  19. Everytime I see a post like that I realize just how out of touch with reality and the direction this game has been going for almost three years some players actually are.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
A place where creative players can make there own story, and where other players can enjoy that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It already is that and "other" things as well. How it is used is up to the individual playing the 15 quid a month, how novel.

There are PLENTY of creative people banding together creatiing story [tags], joining the MA arc Finder channel, releasing their stories with posters/video ads etc..and they are not hard to find, they are HERE in the forums.

Focus your attention on the players and area of the game that is like what you want from COX and ignore the others that are not. Doing that provides you with the proper experience that "you" are looking for from COX.
  21. Your complaint falls squarely in your lap. With over 100,000 arcs it is "your" job to publicize your arc like ANYONE else.

I see you have zero arcs listed in your sig, have you listed any story arc [tags], have you join the MA arc finder channel, have you listed your arc in the release thread here on the board, have you played a story arc that you gave a good rating and listed your arc in the comments section asking the author to play your arc now?

Yet you look to others for fault in not having your arc played.. pfft...
  22. Get over it, its staying period. Next whine.....
