  1. It really makes no sense if the "motive" is too "stop" farming because this does "nothing" to "stop" farming. What it does stop is people from being able to make balanced content especially at low levels as has been noted.

    I don't think anyone other than hover farmers care that the critters have a ranged attack. I think everyone cares that said attack is WAY outta balance and presents some serious problems with making balanced mission.

    Frankly, its an absurd hyperreaction to hover farming IMHO.

    I mean it is time to interject some truth into the discussion. Is there any doubt that the custom critters using the players damage scale are already tougher than the standard PvE critters? Yet they give the same rewards eventhough the risk is indeed higher.

    Where is the "trust" there? Players trust the devs to make things balanced in terms of risk vs reward yet they are not and NOBODY including myself is asking for them to give the "fair" amount of reward for the "increased" risk. People are just thankful not to have to kill their 5 billionth CoT Mage on the way to 50.

    A solution would be to make the attack a properly scaled PvE critter attack for the level of the mission just like in PvE. Using the players damage scale for this attack breaks the players trust in the devs to be sensible and balanced in their approach in dealing with these issues.
  2. I would have to agree with your suggestions on the amount of power for each range. Anything beyond that "REALLY" hurts the ability for story tellers to balacne their arcs.

  4. We know the reason they did it mate thats is not the point. The issue is the attacks are WAY overpowered, some even higher than the tier powers. Since the custom critters were "already" tougher than PvE critters due to their use of the players damage scale, the ranged attack is WAY overpowered for a critter power.

    They need to lower the damage or change the damage scale.

    In addition someone mentioned I15 and being able to "pick" powers. As proposed you would be able to "ADD" more powers after the standard powers. We will never be able to pick the powers from the ground up which totally blows.

    You jump in with this exploit crap, that had nothing to do with what I was talking about, yeah thats pretty psychotic.

    Would you be okay with NO XP in Arcs?

    Originally I thought they said MA wouldn't give XP, as their way to prevent "Farming" but of course we all know they let XP be gained.

    I personally think Zero XP would be fine. I mean, we play Arcs for the Stories correct? You play to enjoy the content someone made, missions, characters, comedy...

    and besides, gaining Prestige, Inf. and Tickets to me is more then enough. Heck, I wouldn't care if you only gained Tickets but that's just because of my strong way of thinking that MA should be about enjoying stories.

    In any case, as sort of a "Pole" I'd like to know what you all think about gaining no XP in Arcs.

    Now that I thought more about this my question to you is "if" you would be ok with it then fine turn off "your" xp when you play MA missions.

    This is obvoiusly not about "you" its about you wanting to control what others get, how much they get etc... and it is pathetic.

    Yes you did an excellent job on the costumes. Now not to throw water on ya, but you had better be ready for the cannonites when it comes to your story. They will slice your privates off with a rusty can top if they feel you went in the wrong direction story wise. A word to the wise.

  13. This game would not be here for 5 years if the powerleveling was not here as well. The devs recognized leveling in this game was a grind for no reason. They introduced xp smoothing then patrol xp to deal with the known problem, all while not touching BM and Demon farming.

    Now MA that allows you to level even faster "without" the need to use "any" exploits whatsoever.

    The past three weeks people appeared to be having more fun than ever. So no I don't think it is determintal to the game, without it I would not be here and many others would not as well.

    Nobody said ANYTHING about an "exploit" but "YOU" so there is nothing for "me" to deny.

    Giving already overpowered critters that use the players scale for damage a ranged attack that scales higher than some of their tier powers is stupid. Regardless of the "need" for some form of ranged attack to deal with "those" people using hover farming, this overpowered ranged attack was not the best solution. A ranged attack in line with lower tier powers would have been enough.

    As it is now the previously overpowered custom critters are even moreso now and that is causing serious problems for arc authors. See the test server thread on this for more information on what is actually going on.

    The ranged attack "should" be base on the PvE scale and that would have been fine. Just like BM minions and LT's get an archery attack, no problem. Giving them an overpowered ranged attack based on the players damage scale throws things way too out of balance for arc authors.
  15. Right now all the customs critters are even more overpowered than they were upon release of I14. People were complaining about the overpowered nature of our custom critters so they give them an overpowered ranged attack and mess up the starting powers. Brilliant.

    You did great on the first half of that post. The second half where you try in vain to come up with the proper level where banning should occurr etc.. well leave that stuff to the devs mate, players are tranditionally worse at this kind of thing than the devs and that is saying something.

  19. Yeah well as you see above the "standard" settings each level of mob "comes" with is already picked and its overpowered. I want to add power from the ground up because 'ADDING" powers is not the issue when they are already overpowered with the "standard" settings on each level.

    They will never let us pick from the ground up and thats a shame. They will always want to pick the powers and only allow us to "add" more powers..well that's TOTALLY useless. It also didn't help things adding something like throwing knives and giving it overpowered damage like 300...crazy.

    Nah, people don't farm overpowered mobs for fun. They farm them under the mistaken premise that this is an "easy" mob, just like PvE. The actual truth is the PvE mobs are way easier to farm especially since the patch and save comm officers they always have been.

    Who are the "you guys" you are talking about? In reference to the changes to the comm officers was good as they were outliers. Closing the exploits like Snake eggs was good.

    Making the already harder than PvE custom critters even harder, no so smart, but as I understand that will be fixed in I15.
