    Thanks Henri!
I mostly draw the light coming from front or front/side. Problem with this drawing is.. it's a bit "cartoonish", I think. When I add shades the way I usually do... it just doesn't fit together. Like it's two styles merged together in a bad way.
Sorry for not making that part more clear...

Computers can't creat pixels, they just replicate them, which makes stuff look blocky if you blow it up, ( well, some software can do it i think, i'd need educating in that too tho ) but i thing drawing big to start with will help.
Actually, the drawing hasn't changed scale... I accidently used a 6px brush instead of a 2px. And I didn't notice untill I drew all of it.
So later on I made the facial lines thinner.
And to be honest... I didn't feel like re-inking it... it was late and I was tired...
But I think I'll just re-ink it anyway. Hopefully it sorts out the style error *giggles*.

At some point, probably soon, I will look more into "where's the light coming from" instead of always using the same light source.

Hmm.. pissed... as in drunk...or angry?

@CR: I think I've seen that before.. indeed very handy!! Cheers!
  4. Now, I don't know if I'm aloud to... but.. I'm gonna give it a shot anyway...

I could use the help of some fellow-artists....
It's like this... I've got this (freebie) request...
And after 5... FIVE redraws... (somehow, I'm not fit to draw bows and arrows in combination with humans :s) I finally came up with the drawing I'm about to post...
But with that drawing.. I've gotten myself in a different kind of trouble.. you see.. it's not quite my usual style (I don't know where it went "wrong" really).. and now I have no clue on how to shade it! *looks utterly out of ideas*.

Can someone please help me out?

Here's she is without the sunglasses glasses... if that makes sense hehe..

  5. lol! Her! hahaha.

Though, probably any combination of catgirls would be a great thing, right?
  6. @Caemgen: Horm who?

    @Sapphic Neko: I told you I would
    Thanks Sapphy
  7. To take my mind off my current project of Mike's portrait for a bit, I went to colour a sketch Swissy did one day for a friend of mine, FloatingFatMan. His character, Ellie.

    So... here it is!

    And "the making of":

  8. 3 more days!! And we may all enjoy *looks excited*
  9. gratz on the tablet Ransim!
  10. Got it, thanks! That's what I meant aswell
  11. haha thanks!

I know about the hairs on crossing his face. It bothers me so that's back on the list of "to work on" .
That goes for the straying hairs aswell. I got a bit overenthousiastic about that *giggles*

I've also noticed that the eyes are shiny, but the rest is flat. I'm working on that as we speak. Trying out different colours, shades and stuff. May take a while to finish this one in a the way I was planning to.

It's a good "getting to know the tablet options" project

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated!

  12. Ooh nice detailing on the cloting!
  13. Yes I saw!! It's like magic! *giggles*

Thanks! I actually didn't use a hair brush... it's all.. me! I did those hairs... hair by hair!
But I like the outcome. May tweak it later a bit here and there...
It's realistic... but you can still see it's not a photo..which is what I was going for.
    Working on his clothing now...
Will see what I can do about skin tone and more shades after that.
  14. Thanks Caemgen!

You did like 90% of the work here on the coloring but often times it's that last 10% that can really make a piece of art pop.
I will put an animated gif later if you like so you can see some of what I did and maybe pick up a few things.
I have noticed I still lack the courage to make that final "pop". So I'm looking forward to that gif animation!
I already am picking up stuff from the piece now, so having it animated, should be awesome, thanks!

I'm very proud aswell, CR! I enjoy working with you very much! Thank you for your effort and time to give advise and feedback.
  15. I agree with LG... and would like to add... it also motivates!
I've learned alot by just looking at someone else's colouring and tweaks.

Everybody has their focus on something and knows how to work that into a masterpiece. The others will be triggered to pay more attention to "that" part aswell in their next drawing.

    I love this system
  16. You'ld like a colour touch up? That is a great job you did there yourself!

  17. Now...I've been working with my marvelous new drawing tablet for 2 days now...
    ...and I utterly LOVES it!
Oh, the detail you can get in a drawing with the pressure option active, the strokes you can make.. it's so delicious! You can't do all that with only a mouse available!

Yesterday I was working on a pair of eyes... the pupils.. and when I was done.. I couldn't stop looking at them... they looked so real!
Have a look yourself, as the following drawing (a more human form of my char Mike, already had it on paper (pencil) and scanned it) is the one I'm working on. (click on it for a large (over 4MB) version)

Yes, except for the dark background, I put in all the hairs manually... because I can!! *giggles*
It still needs a lot of work, I know.. It's by far finished.
I just wanted to share this preview with you lot

In the end the pencil version should be invisible (it's still slightly visible now).

Which Mr. Gorgeous are you refering to exactly? *giggles*

Tablet is collected and it's awesome!
I thought my hand/eye coordination with it would be horrible...but actually it's not that bad .
More practice tonight. Now off to see family!

  19. Thanks Fireheart!

It took intensive mouse-use...and now I'm in pain because my right thumb has an old injury which holds me from long-term intense mouse use... a tablet would be thé outcome.

Yeah, I stubled upon the tablet..then reread the PM you mentioned a tablet in and found out it apeared to be of the same make! Well..that can't be bad at all *giggles*.
And so far the only "bad" thing I read (not only from you, but from other friends and even from people I don't know) was that I would have to get used to it...
Well.. if thát's all! I got used to Paint Shop Pro aswell and I thought I never would!

    I'm so happy!!

Now I'll go off to bed... sleep... and tomorrow morning I'll pick up my new goody!
Though I won't be able to start working with it untill the evening as I have to do a social call with family too
  21. An unexpected update regarding an awesome drawing tablet!
I will own one starting tomorrow!!! (so far that is )
Today I happened to stuble upon a Wacom Intuos 3 A5 wide.
Having read many reviews and gaining advise from several friends, that tablet should do well beyond my expectations. I was aiming for an older version tbh. As it would be more in my budget.

Now, I have been saving up for quite some time now and been on the look out for a reasonable priced drawing tablet (2nd hand would do aswell) with pressure indication (obviously).
I do posess a tablet, but it has no pressure indication and it's working very poorly (which is why I stopped using it). Luckily for me it didn't cost me much.

This one is over 50% off (not new though) BUT... it's been used only once for demonstration ánd it comes in the orignal box! *cheers*

I can't wait to start working with it (yes, I know I will need much more practice, but I'm up for it!).

(I just had to share my joy )

  22. Ooh brushes! Yum!

I've been working with the tutorial Bobby came with, and I must say.. I thinks it's working for me

Just a quick scetch (with mouse only).
