You're welcome, the inclusion of the Kheldian was actually Felicia's idea.

Wait, what? Where's the piece? I looked through the thread and couldn't find a link. -

also im thinking this gets closed fast not because of a vauge theme but because someone is likely to go overboard on descriptions
[/ QUOTE ]
please do not post any suggestive descriptions of any type, PM those directly to me!
Might need to put ElectroMasochistic on the list, as I recall her limbs are detachable? I better leave it at that or I'll break my own rules!
And yes NOT the first five, I mean four, well 3 now I guess. Room for 3 more.
If all else fails, I might just do a group shot of the 5. You have been warned!

Alex, it's awesome that you're doing this. I'm looking forward to the end result. -

...Nudity of any kind is obscene...
[/ QUOTE ]
Except, that's incorrect.
There are shades of grey in this issue, and it's up to the forum mods to decide. So far, they've been cool with it within certain perameters the local art community respects and maintains.
I can't help but think; 'Obvious Troll is obvious'. -

I've always felt that Playboy tends to lean more towards "art" than "porn"...
[/ QUOTE ]
I have as well.
The whole "Light-Speed in Playboy" idea hit me when I decided to grow the character up a little bit. I made her 4 years ago and imagined she was 16 at the time. Since it's 4 years later, she'd be 20 now... so I thought it would be a cool way to present an older version.
If I end up posting the images here, I'll probably just put an artsy little banner across the naughty bits. Of course, the full versions will be printed in glorious color and hang in my office. -
This is actually an interesting and relevant topic for me. I've been working on a set of pin-ups of my main character, Light-Speed. The images are laid out and presented as if it were a Playboy spread, complete with interview, fact sheet, and centerfold... plus 3 - 4 smaller shots. I had originally assumed I'd post the images here, but am reminded that the boards are visited by a younger crowd, so it might not be suitable material.
That being said, I'll be following this discussion until the end. -

...Example 1
Nudity: Turbo-Ski nude on her bed
Sexually Explicit: Turbo-Ski nude on her bed and having intimate contact with ice crafted toy
Example 2
Nudity: Turbo-Ski and Red Kite bathing nude in a hot spring
Sexually Explicit: Red Kite having sex with Turbo-Ski while nude in a hot spring
Really I could keep going on...I have like 2 whole pages of stuff like this.

That's hot. -

Hello,
Never really got to into the Photoshop drawing but I have noticed some of you use it and create some pretty outstanding pieces with it. I was just wondering what type of gear your using EI:
Which edition of photoshop
are you using any tablets etc...
I am looking to get into photoshop drawing and need some help.
Thanks!
[/ QUOTE ]
Firstly, the version of photoshop doesn't really matter that much. Once layers were introduced, the rest has been pretty much candy. I've been using Photoshop since version 2 (I currently use CS3 - or Photoshop 13), and everything from version 7 and up will do the job.
As for drawing tools, get a WACOM tablet. It will change your life. I mean it. There are a few rebels that say they can do everything with a mouse, but drawing tablets speed things up SO much that you'll really thank yourself. Plus, they're only about 99 bucks.
Beyond that, the computer can't compensate for raw skill. While you're looking about at digital tools, make sure you're practicing the basics of anatomy, shading, composition, and all those core art skills. Don't neglect your pencil =) -
There is a vast difference between nudity and sexually explicity. Just because there is a breast showing doesn't mean the piece is over the top. To illustrate the difference, I could easily make something sexually explicit while keeping the figure completely clothed. Sexual explicity is more a reflection of HOW the subject is treated, and not the level of undress portrayed. In this particular case, the nudity is handled with classiness.
And for the OP; thank you for marking the piece NSFW. Even though I think the piece is fine (even well done), the rulers of many workplaces might not and adding the mark doesn't hurt anything - just a gentle warning in case the viewer is in a more conservative environment. I frequent dozens of art boards daily, and marking something with a NSFW tag is standard protocol. -

I'm tellin' ya... you need a 3D version of Turbo
I love seeing how often she appears in art. She's very recognizable.

I dunno, it sounds like you would enjoy that far far too much

And if it were a pin-up, even more so! -

Both are really cool! I looked at each for like 10 minutes before deciding... but my vote is for;
Projectionist. -

Actually, Darkjedi, as Soul_Train stated above: "using such software to accomplish said task may be in violation of the EULA..."...

Oh sure, I'd never try it on COH characters - I'm having enough success with Poser in that arena. My only experiments with OGLE were on WOW and they failed miserably. More than anything, I'm just supporting the conversation on an acedemic level to explore all aspects of 3D art. -

Here's a question I thought you folks would be able to answer if anyone could: If I wanted to capture my character as a 3D model (Say, to import into Maya and do fancy-schmancy mechanima shtuff with), what would be an effective way of doing this? OGLE has already failed me and I was wondering if there was something else I could try.
[/ QUOTE ]
OGLE failed me as well, although I didn't try it on COH... just a nameless 'World Of (Compeditor)'. Hehe.
In my experience, extractors aren't able to pull out any data other than the base geometry, so prepare to re-rig the model if you anticipate making it posable. Also, textures will need to be extracted through a different reader that can extract texture data.
Honestly, COH figures are SO simple, if you have the skills to do animation, you're probably better off just making the character yourself. The base geometry isn't more than about 3,000 polygons. -
Battle-scenes are a real challenge. Good job on this one.
-
This is one of the easiest operations in PS;
1 - Copy the art to a new layer.
2 - Turn the background OFF so so it's not visible by clicking the little 'eye' icon next to the background layer
3 - Erase what you don't want on the layer with the art on it.
4 - Save as PNG. Photoshop automatically merges all the layers and knows that PNGs need to preserve what was not visible. -
LJ, you're my hero of the day!
I guess I'm too much of an old curmudgeon since I no longer do free art. The last free piece I did outside my SG was last year, for Gamma Girl (which was fun to do, I gotta admit). -
I certainly can't forget the ASCII you put in your posts.
Welcome back =) -
When you said 'a simpler place', I assumed you meant lower tech. Her outfit looks very cybered. Is the techno look intentional?
-
Wierd. I replied to this thread offering Light-Speed as a month, and offering to contribute a bit of art... but my post seems to have disappeared.
Have you filled all the months yet? -

D'OH! The site is blocked from my work and I can't see it.
Any chance of you putting all your awesome pieces on DeviantArt? It's free, and will get you TONS of worthy exposure.
