Loving this one, too.
Now that you're posting more at HeroMorph, I get to gush 3 times over these!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe, I keep seeing you over there. There's a real wide mix of items over at Heromorph... but I dare not visit their site from work.
[ QUOTE ]
It really is very lovely!
Are you also going to do more Marvel ones?
Like say maybe a certain catgirl? >.> :P
[/ QUOTE ]
As soon as I feel my DC portfolio is completed, I'll do some Marvels as well. I know I'll tackle the X-Men and probably some Avengers. In fact, I've already started dabbling with a 'Thing' model from the Fantastic Four. Marvel's characters seem to need a lot more custom work. -
[ QUOTE ]
...I have to agree with Juggy that sometimes you seem to be skimpy on the post work....
[/ QUOTE ]
The odd thing is, I did less postwork on this piece than I usually do. In fact, I only spent about 3 minutes on Harley to clean up some stray polygons and shadows. All the postwork was on the Batman doll, and that didn't take more than an hour to detail.
I think, more than anything, it's just a more 'complete' piece than I usually do since there's more to it than just a pose. It's also raised my own personal bar. -
Still more DC fan art. Sorry it's not COH related, but I'll have some COH stuff to post here shortly. Meanwhile, I continue to build my DC portfolio...
HARLEY QUINN over at my DeviantArt site -
Dang! I've had 14,000 page views since I set up DeviantArt a year ago... and over 1,000 just yesterday!! I guess the Supergirl piece is a hit. =)

You forgot 1980's Supergirl from Crisis on Infinite Earths with the red headband.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't feel she was different enough to warrant her own model since I could create her in under 10 minutes. However, if DC calls me and asks for one, I'd be happy to oblige.
DC... call me. -

Is there any way to view deviant art images in anything but tiny thumbnail size? This image like every other deviant art image is tiny for me, and doesn't change when I click on "full view", which only redraws the page in the same size. I even made a deviant art account of my own but I still can't zoom anything. You guys are talking like you can actually see the art, so I'm guessing some kind of Secret Knowledge(tm) must be involved. Induct me into your cult, oh unsquinting ones!

I'm not sure what setting needs to be changed, but it sounds like you're doing it right; click on the image and it blows up to full size. Maybe something in your preferences? -

... the far right. Kind of a blend of old - original colors - and new - belly top and flipped skirt...
[/ QUOTE ]
The one on the right is her current look, in both Superman and Legion storylines. That's the one I feel is the most accurate. -

but i think Powergirl's chest is overly large.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not, really.
The original artist/creator, at one point, started increasing her bust size every issue to see how long it would take before someone noticed what he was doing.
Nobody did.
Therefore, poor Karen having an exceptional front presence is sort of canon now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, Power Girl is known for being extremely busty. It's one of her character traits, like Superman's curl on his forehead. Funny thing is, others have commented that she isn't chesty enough... so it's all a matter of taste.
I tried to keep it tasteful and reasonable, but (ahem) admit to having made some pretty extreme renders to test the size. Ah... I love my work =) -
Whenever I model new characters, I end up testing htem in a bunch of different poses and lightings to make sure the models is holding up to scrutiny. When I started on Supergirl, I wasn't sure which version of her I wanted to make, so I ended up modelling 4 different ones in a single day. Power Girl is pretty straight forward and I only needed to create one of her.
Anyway, this is a 'look over my shoulder' to show a character in progress. Consider this a 'digital sketch'. I might post a full piece or 3 of Supergirl and/or Power Girl in full images later this week.
*EDIT* - Oops! It helps if I add a link;

Hmm
Excellent work as always, but, uh... her guns and hands are misaligned to the point of clipping through one another. Heck, on her right hand (our left), you can barely even see her index finger.
Might either wanna fix that, or be a little more careful in the future =)
[/ QUOTE ]
Gah, I see what you mean. I'll fix that on the next version. It's not a matter of not being careful, but more a matter of having stared at the same piece for hours on end - you end up missing the most obvious items. Thanks for pointing it out. -
[ QUOTE ]
... I'd like to see her shirt look more like spandex and less like paint on her globes, though...
[/ QUOTE ]
Hm... good point. There's an actual outfit on her (I don't use the 'paint the body' technique), but it might be too form-fitting on the chest. I can address that in a later version. -
I've been working on some non-COH stuff recently with an eye towards DC and Marvel, but it's still comic-related and still 'fan art'ish, so I figured I'd go ahead and link to it here. There will probably be several other posts this week.

Holy sh*t, so much wasted potential TF time!

TFs have always been this way. -

people still kill Lusca?

Anything for a badge. I make sure I kill her with every alt. -

It's too graphic for DA and HF basically told me my art sucks so this is the only way I can think to share it and restrict access to only the people who WANT to see it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't think DA had censorship-related limits.
And who is 'HF'? -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh and DJ, where is your stick man of MarDun?
[/ QUOTE ]
Alas, no stick figure. That's why I didn't say 'happy birthday' -
[ QUOTE ]
(Hoping I'm the first to post this anyway! <,<
Happy birthday to ya man! <^_^>
[/ QUOTE ]
What?!? 'Happy Birthday' with no artz? Go draw a stick-Mardun and do it up right! -
[ QUOTE ]
...Don't get too invested in this character.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, Volcana might not last. It's good you're prepared for a possible change.
My brother had 2 different characters GenericHero'd for names that were *similar* to existing properties. One of them was lvl 48, too. In both cases, the names weren't even the same as anything trademarked, but all it takes is one complaint. -
There are several artists here that work with Poser. In my particular case, I've been using it for over a decade and have pretty much integrated it into everything I do.
Is there a chance we could see a larger version of your piece? It's hard to make out details at the size you provided. -
Keep in mind, there is a difference between 'not safe for work' and 'not safe for forums'.
There are things portrayed in game that I could never display at my day job - fishnet tights, bikinis, high heels, and lingerie... even a dedicated slider for breast size. Having screenshots and drawings of these in-game items is fine for the forums, but would get me in trouble if they were hanging in my cube.
With that in mind, I would still like to see people tag stuff NSFW, even if it's just simple and safe stuff for the forums, if there's a chance it might be risky. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh, and Rowr? I tried responding to your PM, but your inbox is full.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same here. I tried to respond to something a day or so ago and it was full. -
I refuse to use the ignore feature, just as I refuse to tolerate any other type of censorship. Like Manoa, I prefer to see how threads play out, keeping an open mind to both sides of a debate. Occasionally, a thread even changes my stance on issues. I enjoy that.

Would any of you artisticly inclined individuals be willing to donate your time and talent to the mostly-weekly Color Palette Costume Contest?
Please PM me for more specific info. (I feel like being sneaky and secretive.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps. I'd recommend you go ahead and spell out what's involved and what you're looking for, though. If you make people put forth effort to find out how to work for free, you won't get a strong response. -
[ QUOTE ]
...but you have to pick and draw someone in this thread that I haven't chosen!...
[/ QUOTE ]
What a great idea! Someone draws someone, and then the recipient draws someone else, and they chhose someone else... and so on. Man, I wish I had the time to run this type of thing. -
Graver's stuff is always top-notch. I'm still thrilled with the piece I got from him over a year ago.
