  1. The templates for the catsuit are on DAZ3D as well. Here's a link to make things easier.

On a side note, I'd like to give you a personal congratulations on your work. I can see the effort you put into the pieces, and they're definitely getting better with each one. If you want me to help on anything such as a difficult texture, let me know - I've gotten pretty quick at it all.

Next on the list of completions is Lady Liberty.

I did alot of work on the suit trying to get the colors and the angles set just right. Customizing a texture that wraps around clothing is not easy, especially when the back and front are seperated out and you have to match the seams without a template...

DAZ releases their character templates for free. She looks like V3, so you could go to their sie and download the template - which makes things a LOT easier.

Also, I'd recommend getting one of the body suits for your preferred model. The body suits have morphs for wrinkles that really help bring realism into a piece.

    Lastly... is she without pants?
  3. After 3 months, I'd like to present Sunder Shock. This piece has taken me longer than any other commission, and I hope the effort was worth it.

Next up is the first piece in the next set of requests. I now present:

    Melantha

I will continue to update this thread until Sept 8 when the subscription runs out for me if I don't get a job by then. But until then I'm not letting up on the resume's because I really ready to stop playing CoX.

Whoops! Should be marked "NSFW" (Not Safe For Work). I opened it as someone walked past...
  6. I used to use a program called "Ray Dream Designer". I followed Ray Dream through several versions, until suddenly they announced they were changing their name and becomming a new thing called "Carerra". I tried the first version and wasn't impressed, but that was 6 - 7 years ago.

Has Carerra come along over the years? Hearing people use it is kinda like visiting an old high-school - lots of memories.

I prever Vue Infinite for rendering my scenes because of the seamless Poser imports. It's definitely coming into it's own as a renderer. If only they'd add animated particle effects.
  7. I'll put it up on my DA site as well, describing what happened and clearly marking that it was a gift to you. Hopefully, that'll keep the internet-police at bay.

rummor has it that DA is coming down on people hosting art that was done FOR them instead of BY them...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I strongly doubt that, but it's your call. If you don't want to display it, then that's fine.
  9. Gamma,

You wanna host the image I made for you on DA, or do you want me to? I don't mind if you put it up on your gallery with the others, so people know what character it is.

    your call.

    Hey Gamma,

I don't know you all that well, but your story hit me. I'm against any form of censorship and I hope you're able to recoup your losses.

Since you're taking all this so well, I thought I'd donate a few hours of time to help you get started on the rebuild. I wish I could have spent more time on this piece because it's not perfect, and it's kinda simple... but it'll have to stand as it is for the time being.

    With that, here you go;

Thanks. Regrettibly, I don't have the time to put another layer of polish on the piece (I was only able to work it while another item was rendering), but hey, it's gift art.

wow... you guys are just totally awesome... here's the most recent shots of Gamma in her prefered costume...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I prefer the school-girl outfit since I'm not a fan of the trenchcoats, but I might be able to work with this...
  13. Hey Gamma.Girl... you happen to have an image of Gamma online so I can see what her costume looks like? Mostly just curious. Mostly.

based on the responses I see here. I think there is enough community interest to help you at least start something else your interested in...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed.

Were you GenericHero'ed? Banned from the game? Or just had your site wiped? Maybe it's time for a "Gamma.Girl.Lives" campaign.

...In the further attempt to push my abilities, I did a few new things with this piece. I was going for a ice over the body type of effect. I also did some softening in PS.

Are you still developing this piece or is it pretty much completed? I have a few suggestions to run by you if you're still going to make tweaks... but if it's done, then no worries.

I love your Virtue Universe piece - I wish I had the time to do something like that for my SG on Victory. How long does it take you to do each character from the front only?

I love the mood he captures. Very dystopian, and always pleasing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Those aren't two concepts one usually finds cheek-to-jowl.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True, but I have a love for Dystopian stories, art, and concepts - not sure why since my art is usually so clean and upbeat. But, someday, I want to do some truely dark stuff with strong mood and Graver is already there. He's inspiring me to dig up some old ideas I have.

    I love your poser stuff.

I have another question. How much was done in poser and how much is done in photoshop for this piece?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The girl was done in Poser, but as usual I didn't like the face or hair. I did extensive post-work on everything above the neck to bring the face to life, and the hair is a complete repaint. The cape is also entirely photoshopped. As for the body, all I did was correct some stray shadows.

    ...
Out of curiosity, how long does it take for a render? I'm guessing you do draft renders before a final high-res render...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Each piece takes on it's own character, but I'd estimate an average of between 20 - 40 hours spent from concept to completion. I do several raw renders until I get the pose and lighting I like, then I need to build the backdrop (which often takes the longest to render). Finally, I spend a couple hours compositing and photoshopping the pieces together.

Sometimes, I need several drafts before I get to a good base, and other times they just come together.
  25. And then there's Dynamistress! She's a carefree, confident leader and the city is her playground.
