Quote:Yep, I've been on a total Dresden fix these last couple of weeks.Gettin' my Dresden fix: Ghost Story and Side Jobs by Jim Butcher.
My favorite of the MtG books!
Quote:You are so cool.
*****
Let's see, what am I reading at the moment...
THE DRESDEN FILES by Jim Butcher - yes, the entire series. I always have several books going at the same time, so I'm back-and-forthing through the whole series picking up on details I missed the first time.
THE EIGHT by Katherine Neville - I love this book. I would love to see a really good movie or miniseries made of it.
VERTICAL RUN by Joseph Garber - similar in spirit to DIE HARD, but with a hell of a driving story behind it. If you've not read it, do.

Have Neuron randomly come through, make some snarky comment, and throw off Keyes' To Hit ability as he temporarily froths at the mouth and takes a potshot at Neuron as he zooms off.

Ahhhh, so many great episodes. *grins* I actually Tweeted this list to Kevin Conroy after TGWTG posted the link.
(He will ALWAYS be Batman to me... never mind those other guys.)
And I was glad to see "Almost Got 'Im" made #1 (was also glad "Heart of Ice" and "Mad Love" made it on there, two of my favorite episodes). "I threw a rock at 'im!" *beat* "It was a big rock" has almost become a catchphrase among my gaming group.
Loved MASK OF THE PHANTASM... though it took me AGES to realize that the weasly councilman Arthur Reeves is voiced by the same actor who played Ellis, the coke-snuffing selfservering exec in DIE HARD.
I really need to get this box set... and BATMAN BEYOND... and JLU... *sigh*

Quote:Your Tier 1 pets are Animal (Melee, automatic aggro to any female target) Tier 2 is Statler and Waldorf (Taunt powers!), Tier 3 is Miss Piggy (Martial Arts with automatic double knockback - HY-YAH!), while your uber-pet would be Gonzo, because he always goes off and does his own thing and you're not really certain what he is.I am interested in what you have to say and would like to subscribe to your newsletter!
And instead of something lame like Serum, you get something like Gang War and summon a miniature army of Crazy Harrys who nuke everything in sight.

I won't be at PAX itself, unfortunately, but I *will* be at the M&G, and maybe even bringing brownies!

I'm not sure if anyone else runs forum searches to find out if anyone has talked about themQuote:Shadowe actually had to stop adding tales of his alleged wisdom (or the lack thereof) to his signature. Unlike Samuraiko, he has quite a large ego, but decided not to bother creating a website solely dedicated to it.
(Edit: on reading that back, it could be taken as a dig at Michelle. It's not meant to be. I really DID consider creating a web page to link my sig to with every single "wise" reference on it, but figured that my ego was quite large enough, thank you.)

Cheers for having the Swords of the Cross on the list...
I'm surprised Saberhagen's Swords aren't on here, though.
Any sword by Masamune or Murasame (the legendary blacksmiths) would probably be on here.

The link appears to have vanished - I've checked from multiple pages, but no idea where it went (which is kinda annoying). The Paragon Wiki might have them, I don't know.
However, I downloaded all of them as PDFs.
If no one else has a link, give me a bit to put them into one zip file and put it up for download.

Crap, where do I even start...
Hubby (aka Bloodspeaker) for getting me into the game. And for reaffirming that an Energy/Energy blaster is a great character to start with... blast blast blast KNOCKBACK!
The videographer community for helping me figure out all the various little tips and tricks that kept inching my videos toward something better than they were before.
A particular redname who shall remain nameless whose signature character got my muse back into gear after she went into hiding for almost two years.
Various forumites for making me laugh, making me think, giving me advice, and generally being awesome. They are too numerous to name, but I'm pretty sure they know who they are.

Quote:I remember you asking me during the beta if I could make the video for you.One of the things I've always wanted to try my hand at is making CoH videos out of edited demorecords, but I just do not have the time to invest to get to the point of not looking totally stupid. But the closest I came to seriously considering it in recent times came when dual pistols came out: I wanted to make a video to the Nancy Sinatra song. I settled for writing a parody of that song in the beta, which now I can't even find which annoys me greatly.
That song is a slow floater right over the center of the plate, seriously.I wonder if I still have your lyrics somewhere...
*sighs*
Must win lottery. Must win lottery. Must win lottery...
EDIT: BTW, Arc, I still think some of my videos look stupid. Give it a try anyway. What do you have to lose?

Quote:*reads and immediately has to squash the notion of doing a video of the character to the Ricky Martin song*In that case, you'll be heartily amused by the name of my latest addition (on Virtue) ... Sidhe Bang ... a Praetorian Storm/Dual Pistols Defender. And before you ask, yes ... her bio does explicitly mention the folklore of the Irish (and the proper pronunciation of the word, Sidhe).
No, no, no, no, no - I am far too busy.

How about a soapbox derby? Crafted out of clockwork gears (wheels), hydraulic pistons (axles), ceramic armor plates (better than a cardboard box for safety)... we can even go for Soapbox Death Race 2000! Or recreate the Fast and the Furious by having teams of really hot /kins in bikinis speedboosting the derby cars as they go by...
Being able to actually SAIL out on the water! We've got all those speedboats... set up a buoy circuit and let us race! "Hundreds gathered today by the docks of Talos Island to witness the beginning of the first Paragon Cup, as crews race the circuit across Paragon Bay..."
Praetoria can get in on the event with a crew team... make going for the River badges much more entertaining...
Clambakes on the beach (the normal kind, not the type you have in an enclosed car)... Kheldians may wish to remain in human form.
New travel power: Sack Hopping
New tailor look: Sunburn

My global and forum name have been the same since I started four years ago. At the time, I was under the impression for some reason that your forum handle and your login name could not be the same thing, so Samuraiko became my global, and I named my forum handle for my first real character, Dark Respite.
I got a lot of crap about how to pronounce that when I introduced myself at HeroCon (I pronounce it 'REH-spit', while others pronounce it 'reh-SPITE' - it's MY name, so MY pronunciation is the one that matters, colonial heathen, and for the record, they're BOTH correct). So now I answer to:
Samuraiko
Dark_Respite (and Dark Respite)
Sam
Samu
Ko
Dark
D_R
Johanna Sinclair (videographer character)
Jo
That Chick Who Makes Vids

Still, I'm glad that they've contributed to your enjoyment of the game - I love this place too, and they're not dragging me out of here until the servers get turned off.

For those who have not seen it: The BBC did a Jeeves&Wooster thing with Fry and Laurie, and it is the most amazingly perfect... Wow. Hugh Laurie does Bertie Wooster so amazingly well, and Fry does a lovely Jeeves.
... Well. Don't just STAND there. GO GET ME STEPHEN FRY! NOW!

Quote:You know, my husband and I were wondering about this just the other night. I was going to post something and ask, but you beat me to it.Based on what we've all come up with, it looks to me that at some point early on, the players and the writers confused the Surviving Eight with the Freedom Phalanx, and it stuck. Positron appears to have confused it as well in Issue 2 when designing the Freedom Phalanx Reserve accolade. That being said, I had this impression that the members of the surviving eight that weren't already in the Phalanx, were invited to it. I'm not the only one, and it makes me wonder if there was some reference to it back near release that none of us can find.
Anyway, I don't think Numina is supposed to be in the FP either. Her original bio as created by the character who won the contest says nothing about it, just about the Midnight Squad, and that she remains an honorary member of Vanguard:
I personally think it would do less harm to the game to make both of them official than to jump through whatever hoops would remove the implications that they are both in the Phalanx.
