More like FPAD_R.
Except I'm not a redname.
Quote:Neat. You had plenty of stuff to cram in there and managed to cover it all in an intriguing way.
Aside from the fine demoediting and shot selection (as always), I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the unsung people who help out D_R by appearing in her videos of team events. Some of the most exciting shots in this trailer, for instance, were simply of teams moving in a fairly synchronized way around the Underground Trial. Thank you to D_R and all her helpers for another fine trailer. (And something to watch while I wait for the servers to open up.)And you guys are very patient about the weirdo chick oohing and ahhing at everything as I go through and film stuff.
So yeah, it really is about the players.
Quote:Nice, very nice. It shows pretty much exactly what I21 is about, and it looks good. Hm, this video might be good to show to people who used to play the game and see if they want to stop by and see what's going on now.
Quote:beautifully done.
Admittedly, I still think my absolute favorite was Going Rogue, but this one was definitely a very close second.
Though I do wonder if it'll be easier or harder to do some of these trailers with updates coming smaller and more frequent.
(If I could, I would probably make a street justice trailer when it launches that uses lots and lots of retro fighting game sound effects... >.>)
Now if someone were PAYING me to make these... so that all I had to do all day was make ads... that'd be another story.
But we all know the likelihood of THAT happening, don't we?
Quote:Excuse me, but could you hand me my jaw? It feel on the floor somewhere around here....
Very cool!
Quote:*twitches in anticipation for I21* That video did nothing to calm me down!!!
Quote:Nice work. The sewer trial looked exciting enough to make me want to try it even after already running it a dozen times. *laugh*
Quote:I think this fairly sums it up.
In other words:
THAT WAS COMPLETELY, ABSOLUTELY, TOTALLY OUGHTRIGHT, PURE, UNADULTERATED AWESOMENESS OF EPIC PROPORTIONS!
ahem... I also thought the music was rather cool as well, what was it?
Quote:Excellent as always. Sorry I couldn't stick around for the Seed of Hamidon filming last night.
*******
Thanks again, everyone!

Okay... video deadline = noon PDT tmw. (Need the last hour to upload to website and YouTube and then PM TheNet and Beastyle so they can watch it.)
*puts on a final burst of caffeine-and-adrenaline-fueled speed to finish her I21 trailer*

Welllll... damn.
I'd also wondered where he'd gone, but with all the brouhaha and nerdragequitting and whatnot, I'd thought he'd just chosen to go quietly and with some dignity. I didn't realize that when he'd left that way, he'd left permanently.
Hopefully now, he is happily enjoying himself at the great Comic Book Convention in the Sky, where he can cheerfully argue with the creators whose works he'd so loved. Think of it this way - he reached Incarnate level. Time to move on to the heavy hitters.
RIP, L_O_T.

Quote:Intriguing...Hmmm... wil this do?
Bacon Chocolate Martini
- 1 part Bakon Vodka
- 1 part chocolate liqueur
- A splash of cream
Combine in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain and pour into a sugar-rimmed martini glass
That I would celebrate with, once the video is finished.
That or a glass of a really, really good red wine. Hmmm. Maybe I should buy myself a bottle as incentive for finishing this thing.

Okay, so NOW I have a deadline for my trailer...

D_R gets her OWN lexicon, do NOT mix it with ours please. we all love what you do, but we don't really care what you call it while you are doing it

Quote:It's the villain who ran his SF. You're currently holding his daughter as a permanent hostage to ensure his 'cooperation.' He's letting YOU know that we're about to be invaded so you can get your stuff together and go gung-ho on it... and hopefully learn a bit about his daughter in the process. So who is Mortimer Kal's mysterious liege? Someone in the CoT? Mender Silos? the letter writer? I don't get it.

Per the U-stream - this was written by John "Protean" Hegner.
EDIT:
Nice to see that Mortimer Kal is still in the loop...
And who else predicts that the reason for the TWO Durays is that Primal's Sky Raiders is getting a new leader, whether they want one or not? (Especially after the tag-teaming Durays started the whole mess of the Sutter TF!)

Not one of mine, but my husband's, actually...
Bloodspeaker is zooming through the skies over Grandville (a lvl 50 character, IIRC) when he gets a tell from a friend requesting help in a mission. A lower level friend, mind you. "Sure," says hubby, "throw me an invite."
Invite window pops up. He accepts the invite.
... and immediately wonders why he's falling out of the sky. Despite frantically clicking on his Flight toggle.
CRASH.
Right into a mob that quickly recovers from its WTF moment and kills him.
At which point he realizes his friend is level 13. And he's now exempted down to 12.
The profanity over TeamSpeak that day was enough to nearly fry the lines from Phoenix to Tucson.

If we're worried about having too high-level stuff milling around... why not go the opposite direction?
Imagine an invasion of Skulls and Hellions everywhere...
GANG WAR: "We've had the recruiting drives from Hell, and now we're ready to take on this town! BRING IT!"
Or how about Zig Prisoners everywhere... that's a solid midlevel group...
PRISON BREAK: "I'm free, I'm free, and I'M NOT SO STUPID AS TO STAND JUST OUTSIDE THE PRISON SHOUTING ABOUT IT!"

In college I got out of it by showing up in a Born Again Pagan tshirt and handing out daisies to other people (I was deemed a 'potentially unbalancing factor amongst the other jurors').
Much later I got called again, and had to spend the day bored waiting to find out if I'd get called. I wrote several chapters of a book I was working on at the time while I was there. Productive day.

"Hell is other people."
God, I haven't read that in ages.
It's too bad VK's connection went down while Zwill was talking about THE LAST DRAGON and singing El DeBarge, then we were talking about television shows for a while...
And Zwill TRIED to do the whole cool homey turn his hat backward thing, but just couldn't quite pull it off...

Adding to the chorus of "feel free to ask questions", with a slight suggestion - if you get in the habit early of courtesy, you'll get a LOT more mileage out of it than you'd expect. For example:
"Hi, I'm new, quick question - where can I find X?"
Speaking for myself and most players I know, unless I am a) absolutely buried in a mob, or b) afk/at a tailor, I'd stop and answer this (or escort them over if needed), and probably follow it up with, "not a prob, if you need any other help, just give me a shout."
Also, "please", "thanks", and "you're welcome" are always a good idea.

There should be one for Fusionette that works like "Feign Death" in the L5R CCG... every time you think she's dead, nope - she's back again.

Quote:Okay, we need to start a thread of just these... and then convince a mod to sticky it so no matter how depressed or mopey or DOOOOOM the forums get, we can look at it and laugh."Just remember what ol' Han Solo does when the hyperdrive's busted and asteroids are all around and an Imperial cruiser's on your tail. Yeah, ol' Han Solo just looks that princess straight in the eye and he says, 'Never tell me the odds.'"

The program Bubbawheat mentioned for compression is VirtualDub. I use that and the ffdshow codec to compress to AVI and it brings files down to a much more manageable size.
Right now Sony Creative Software is offering a deal on Imagination Suite 3 for around $125 or so - comes with a lot of the software that I use. You might take a gander at it.

Okay, I'm probably going to get lynched or else just forced to hand over my geek cred card on general principles but I have NEVER watched (as in, not even a single episode):
Firefly
Serenity
Nu BSG (I can't definitively speak for old BSG, but I'm pretty sure I never watched that either)
Buffy
Lost
Farscape
Star Trek: Enterprise
Dollhouse
Smallville
Lois and Clark
etc etc etc
I just don't usually watch TV.
I have seen ST, ST:TNG, STS9, ST:Voyager, B5, Doctor Who (old and new, so there!). But that's about it.
BTW: Freitag - I think you watched THE GATHERING. But by far and away, the BEST of the B5 movies was IN THE BEGINNING. Brilliant. Though the series kicked a** as a whole (yes, several weak episodes, but overarching awesomeness). I even made a tribute video for it.
