No. Straight guys follow the girls to gay bars to play the 'sensitive friend' angle and maybe get some 'I'm not a threat' grinding in on the dance floor... then let alcohol do the work and slip out the door the next morning claiming it was a one time deal and you're really still gay as a method of commitment avoidance.
No pressure, just a good time.
[/ QUOTE ]
You've given this entirely too much thought.... O.o
[/ QUOTE ]
Thought? That didn't require thought.
That's page 54 of the Man Rule Book?
Don't you remember it from your Man Card Exam?
You DO have your Man Card, don't you?
[/ QUOTE ]
-revokes BA's man card-
You're not supposed to talk about page 54.
Page 2. Do not reveal @$$ getting secrets.
You'll have to retake the exam. -
Want... to ... do this! It works now! Let's do it!
I promise to be good -
Usually people who do this think the opposite. He's just trying to lie to himself I think... which means....

You might want to check out "High Beam's Flashbacking Badging Guide" at http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat....=0#Post9765673. It's a great guide to all the flashback badges.

I know there's a joke to be had somewhere in there, about Jester being a Pingu and us being grouped in with him too.
I'm just not in the proper mood to structure it right.

Are you saying there's something wrong with Jester? ;D

Debating the merits of this study is ok. Personally attacking the professor is a violation of the Message Forum Rules and Guideline. As I said in the general thread, let's be the bigger people in this situation.
[/ QUOTE ]
This means we can take it offline to deal with, if I understand you correctly. The Forums specifically have a rule about attacking a person.
However if we choose to take this offline from the official CoH/V message boards that would be our perrogative, correct?
Just don't insult him on these boards-Mod08 -
Smexy.
Good info in this. Stuff I was looking for. And I was planning on Heroic anyways... for the exact reason. It's badging, not exping.
And that's exactly what I was thinking, a small team to make small spawns but would allow for quickly defeating them.
I'm also going to have to research arcs to make sure I'm not getting a defeat all (when trying to do speed) and hopefully have someone who can help stealth for those.
Those are my main concerns. -
[ QUOTE ]
Maybe, but then if that's the case, why do you care what this guy does with his research? It's not like the results impact your life in some way.....
[/ QUOTE ]
If parents read something of this nature and determine their kids no longer should play the game because we are hate filled and angry, less revenue for COH. Less revenue for COH impacts all of us.
Wife reads article and determines her husband is filled with hate and anger and asks him to stop. See above end result.
To think that popular opinion or media have no effect on your life is a little naive.
[ QUOTE ]
There's plenty of ways to get your 15 minutes of fame rather than trying to make a statement by reporting some random professor for sketchy experimental methods.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think any of us are looking for 15 mins of fame, rather to correct a wrong against people in the community and preserve our image.
[ QUOTE ]
All the meanwhile....he's probably laughing while raking in 6 figures a year. Something I doubt the majority of people here do. Its amazing to me what random people find is their business to investigate.
[/ QUOTE ]
I rather doubt he comes anywhere near 6 figures a year. PhD's don't generally make that much. Books are where they MIGHT make something and he wants to profit off a slanderous account of the game you play.
Why are you making it your business what we pursue? You could be considered just as guilty. You're the anti-voice on the forum, by proclaiming your opinion, you're getting you 5 mins of fame... sort of. Heh.
[ QUOTE ]
The guy is a "internationally-recognized scholar of digital media and play" yet you guys think you're going to get him fired over this?
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe that's the phrase that was used in the article the reporter wrote? The same one that doesn't have any sort of alternate viewpoints or rebuttals? Just because no one has stood up to a wrong doesn't mean they shouldn't.
I don't believe anyone here is trying to get him fired. But to make sure that the extremely skewed view he is present, which includes his lying by omission is corrected.
If we want to take the time to do this, what business is it of yours? Are you so insulated in Stoned Templars that you care not for the rest of the server or how people who pay for it may be perceived?
Your own reputation is being tarnished whether you realize it or not.
War Admiral, I like teaming with you, but I believe you're not really thinking this through to the fullest extent.

It's just my Badger is my Blaster -
I could do them solo, except that I'm a blaster. Sure I can take enemies down fast, but healing is not something I can do. I give damage and take it fairly well. Having some to back up my destruction of things is always helpful
I'm primarily concerned with doing this Blueside, but thanks for the offer, @Dark Epitaph. If I change my mind and decide to do badge hunting redside I will definitely send a tell. -

Still? -
I realize that having been gone for a while, I missed the major train of people doing these for the badges. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in doing a couple of these this weekend however.
Specifically what I'm looking to get taken care of are
All For One, One For All : Complete a Flashback arc with zero defeats
Gold Medalist : Complete a Flashback arc in under 30 minutes
I also have a few questions on these aside from looking for some assistance.
Silver and Bronze medals awarded when you get Gold?
Likewise same question with defeat related badges.
Also are there recommended arcs that naturally lend themselves to completing the goals easily?
Answers on questions or any takers for this Sunday for doing some Ouroboros badges?
(PERC people, if you wanted to set this up as a normal weekly/bi-weekly event, I'd be glad to let you take it over and perhaps help in organizing it.) -
