My complaint wasn't with the limitation itself, more the fact that they're not at all clear about it, instead choosing to drape it in confusing world immersion details. It would be like if the game said "For some mysterious reason other heroes can't hear you" when you try to send a tell from a trial account (I am, of course, assuming that the game is more clear than that).
I wasn't aware the trial accounts were pestering you about subscribing. It's been quite a while since my trial (over 4 years), but I don't remember it doing that back then. It's kinda sad. -
His sig wasn't edited, his post was. The thread has been pruned, from what I can tell quite a bit.
-
You know, it sure would be nice if the devs could be less obtuse about trial account restrictions. Seriously, that's just insulting.

I'll see your Morse Code and raise you binary.

EDIT: Those spaces aren't supposed to be there, looks like the forum software inserted them automatically to prevent stretching.
EDIT x2: And Hex while we're at it.

As far as I know it was just a convenient keyword that obscured the true purpose of the mission while allowing farmers to easily find farms. Meow farms were just maps full of Comm Officers.

Yes, I was just made aware of this last night. Regardless, the system is clearly causing issues, given how many threads people are starting over it.

Ironically, this sad little exchange only proves my point.

You can use the /maxinactivefps command ingame to throttle the FPS of the game while it's not in focus. If you're looking for a "not ingame" performance boost that may help, depending on your whole situation, system, etc.
-
Realistically I tend to agree (maybe eventually if it gets to be a big enough problem, but not so soon), but my main issue was with your first statement of "function" which is only inaccurate in just about every single way.

Like a couple others have said, the door needs to be entirely underground. The difficulty with that, of course, is that you can't see it. The coordinates Mr_Samoa posted a few posts up are where at least one such door is (again, you won't be able to see the door, but you can see the recessed area where it looks like a door would be).

Quote:I just wanted to comment on this since a new player likely doesn't know what this term means. If your character name ingame is reported and a GM agrees, that charater will be "genericed", i.e. their name will be changed to "Generic Hero 0274558" or some combination of numbers. A GM will contact you and allow you to submit a short list of alternative names.I don't know about "ganging up", but if you use that name in the game, the chances are very high that you will be reported and your character's name genericed.
If you're okay with that, carry on.
If you use your forum handle ingame, yeah, expect this to happen very quickly. -
Quote:Right, because the forum is absolutely not already being cluttered with posts about 1) Rep farming, 2) Complaining about negative rep, and 3) Complaining about this pointless system in general. It's an important outlet with no negative consequences whatsoever.I have a feeling the rep system will remain in effect and also remain anonymous. Why? Because it serves a couple different functions: 1. It allows for people to get their yayas out on you without cluttering the forums

Quote:And I'd cheerfully direct you to my earlier post:If you have strong opinions that others might take issue with, I'd suggest that you cheerfully disable it.
So yeah, the people who don't care about little red and green dots can still be viciously and anonymously harassed. -
We ran one last night. It was full of lulz.
But I don't see any reason why they couldn't be successful with one person who knows what they're doing running it.
But to be honest, I've done the blueside Hami Raid several times now. What I want to do is a redside Hami Raid. They're running them regularly on Protector, why not here? -
Another improvement would be not loading the entirety of the loot database before the user has even put in a search for something. I get that it cuts down on search time if you filter rather than actually search, but it makes the Market extremely laggy and difficult to use. When I step off the ferry in Cap and find myself faced with the Black Market I get hit with lag like nowhere else in the game, except maybe the ITF. It needs to be fixed.

You can always disable rep, although the hilariously stupid part about that is that you still get the comments in your Control Panel, your rep just isn't displayed on your posts.
Hey board mods! Disable this garbage please. -
That's a Spider-Man tradition though. So often in the cartoons and even the old comics you'd see him swinging on his web when it very clearly cannot possibly be attached to anything. Besides, it's pretty much impossible to do a Spider-Man game without that conceit.

Quote:I didn't spend 8 damn years trying to get a Bachelor's degree just to work as a frigging security guard. I was seriously considering just going to graduate school until the economy improves or the world ends (I'm thinking it's 50/50 at this point) until I realized I did so crappy in school that no professor would give me a recommendation.I only recently got my pharmacy technician certification... Until about 4 months ago, I = 22yo living on parents couch, partying every night, rolling on the weekends, and unemployed.
Now I = 22yo living in an apartment, partying every night, rolling on the weekends, and employed.
Pharmacy Technicians are needed all over. Get certified and you should have no trouble getting a job even with no experience. Just be willing to do it. Also, you can't have any felonies or drug related arrests... That's a no-no when it comes to handling oxys and adderal and it might stop you from getting certified. It isn't even expensive, man... Just do it.
Are you are looking for a cheesy job? Getting a little piece of paper saying that you are certified from some idiots who don't know what they are doing can raise your pay by a bunch.
You can always go to school and get somewhere with that if you want to get student loans and work on your free time.
Being a Security Guard is pretty easy to get, too. Sometimes they don't even give you a gun. And that rocks. You'll just be a mall cop who does school work while drinking coffee. Don't get me wrong, I hate cops, but I have no problem being a security guard. That **** is much easier. It's usually minimum wage, but after a while you'll figure out the ins and outs of all the cameras and security systems and you'll devise a plan to get away with theft of expensive merchandise and be able to get away with it because you'll have planned it out over a period of a couple months.
That's one of my reoccurring daydreams I keep having. -
Quote:Technically, that already exists. Not exactly the same as what you're suggesting, except that it has a story behind it, and according to the lore it runs beneath Steel Canyon (no zone connection though).First. Expand the sewers. Don't just take the same map and repopulate it with higher level mobs. I'm talking something that would have a bit of story behind it. But the end result would be expanding the sewers into the higher level zones. Stash some secret labs down there and the like. One part that came to mind was a long draw out tunnel running between an area like Steel Canyon and Croatoa.
It would be nice to see a little more bulk to mid-game though, something a bit more interesting than "random normal guy hanging out on a street corner is your contact".
