    Zone Queue

I like this idea, as long as it supplements the current system rather than overwriting it. Sometimes there's actually enough interest for 2 concurrent raids, in which case you would have a reason to go to the second instance.

Clearly they were given cell phones by Future Guy.

You can RP anything. My Super Strength/Willpower Brute is an android -- how else is he gonna get Psionic protection without actual armor like Dark or Stone? And hell, you could even have a Magic-origin techno-mage who uses Traps/Devices along with a blast set to represent the magic.

I thought this thread was about a new powerset idea.

Don't forget the low-level Perez hunts. "Oh, you're level 7? Go to Perez Park and beat up 10 level-9 CoT mystics."
  6. Even if GMs didn't scale to level, most of the GMs in the game are in zones within the level range 1-30. In fact the only one that isn't is Jurassik (U'kon Gr'ai is part of a raid, so he doesn't count).

Whether it's GMs or zone events (like the fires in Steel, only less boring), I would definitely like to see more outdoor activity. I don't think a GM for Atlas/Galaxy makes much sense, but maybe something like a jailbreak event for Brickstown? The Prisoners are already spilling out into the streets, and based on the redside intro arc jail breaks seem to happen pretty frequently at the Zig. If they ever manage to get targeting for extra-large entities working, a giant Mek-Man emerging from the volcano in Striga would be pretty awesome.
  7. About toggle-heavy characters and their addiction to little blue pills: we now have the ability to combine any three of one inspiration type into an inspiration of a different type. For example: combine 3 Insight into a Catch a Breath, combine 3 Righteous Rage into a Second Wind. The slash command is /insp_combine. For the first example, you would type "/insp_combine Insight Catch_a_Breath".

Here's the bind file I use to generate macros for these commands (doesn't work on Awakens or Break Frees):

    Code:
    $$macro T1 "insp_combine Insight Catch_a_Breath$$insp_combine Enrage Catch_a_Breath$$insp_combine Luck Catch_a_Breath$$insp_combine Respite Catch_a_Breath$$insp_combine Sturdy Catch_a_Breath"
    $$macro T2 "insp_combine Keen_Insight Take_a_Breather$$insp_combine Focused_Rage Take_a_Breather$$insp_combine Good_Luck Take_a_Breather$$insp_combine Dramatic_Improvement Take_a_Breather$$insp_combine Rugged Take_a_Breather"
    $$macro T3 "insp_combine Uncanny_Insight Second_Wind$$insp_combine Righteous_Rage Second_Wind$$insp_combine Phenomenal_Luck Second_Wind$$insp_combine Resurgence Second_Wind$$insp_combine Robust Second_Wind"
    $$macro END "insp_exec_name Catch_a_Breath$$insp_exec_name Take_a_Breather$$insp_exec_name Second_Wind"
Put this in a file called end.txt in your CoH directory, and type /bindloadfile COH_PATH\end.txt" to load the macros (where COH_PATH is the path to your CoH install). The last macro uses the largest blue inspiration in your insp tray.
  8. Keep in mind that the current version has a bug that puts the builder into PVP and level-up (as opposed to PVE and dynamic) modes by default.

Nope, I tend to skim a lot. Sorry.

Not to mention Energy Blast, which can become Light Blast with Power Customization (you can even turn your entire array of powers into colors from the visible spectrum!).
  11. So no issue releases until CoH2 then? Seeing how I don't expect they'd have the manpower to do this on top of what they currently do (the diversion of work onto Going Rogue has already given us several dull issue releases -- mind you I believe this will ultimately be worth it).
  12. I've been having the same problem for at least the past few weeks.
  13. If this is the case then the wiki should be updated accordingly.
  14. The main conceptual problem that immediately occurs to me is with this as an inherent that it implies that all Tankers/Brutes have the ability to do this. A Dual Blades Tanker or a Claws Brute shouldn't be able to toss a Scrapper around.

That said, and putting aside Standard Code Rant, I could see this being a fun and unique power in a new melee powerset, although I'm uncertain what powerset that could possibly me that wouldn't be derivative of Super Strength. Also, melee characters aren't exactly hurting for powersets these days.

The OP may referring to the recent thread in the Suggestions subforum where somebody suggested this idea.

Just wanted to correct you on this one point. The devs actually do bring back Rikti Invasion Week from time to time (although I think it has been a while), and Rikti Invasions are also triggered every time a Lady Grey Task Force is completed, so you would actually be able to get this badge again. But your point here is valid (about the badges anyway), as there are a few badges you would be unable to get again (mainly the anniversary badges).

As for the rest, you should probably scroll up and read over the response Memphis_Bill posted. Also, your characterization of other players as unemployed losers with no lives is pretty demeaning to a large chunk of the playerbase that is employed and maintains a full and satisfying life while still managing to find time to play. (In my case it actually happens to be true, but for a lot of people here it's not, and many of them play more than I do!)
  18. I have to ask...what purple wall are you referring to? Maybe I'm drawing a blank but I can't think of any zone in the game that has a purple wall. If you're referring to the War Walls erected around city zones, you can't get past those even with flight.

Like StarGeek said, Fly is the slowest of the travel powers, but it also affords you the best range of motion. Teleport is the fastest but requires you to target where you want to teleport to (this can be simplified with binds but it's still a trade-off). Super Speed is the next fastest but has no vertical movement beyond your regular jump. Super-Jump is the next fastest, but like you said it may not get you over every obstacle (although if you're clever, you can generally manage to find a lower foothold somewhere else to get some extra starting height). I would probably call Super-Jump the best "on-average" travel power; not the fastest, and not the best range of motion, but a good mix of the two that will get you to most locations in the game pretty easily (especially if you slot it a bit).

A final note about IO performance: level 15 IOs are better than even-level DOs, level 25 IOs are almost as good as even-level SOs (short by 1%, effectively just as good). I usually try to slot as many level 15s as I can afford by level 12, then upgrade to 25s at level 22. IOs are more cost-effective in the long-run, but getting your hands on some of the salvage can get pricey if you don't get the drops you need.

    New Mids' Update

I love the icons you made for saved builds. Nice to have something besides the generic Windows "I don't know what this file extension is" icon.
  20. Anyone else having problems with 196.21? Looks like it came out mid-January, and I started having problems very shortly after returning to the game in early February.

  22. Is this isolated to 196.75? I'm running 196.21 and getting temps around 80 degrees C while idle. I was having this issue before my power supply burned out on Sunday, and I'm still having the problem with the new (and theoretically superior) power supply.
  23. I blame you for my ridiculous and persisting computer problems. (New power supply finally arrived? Awesome, time to corrupt your master boot record!)

    Fury for Tanks

Tanks aren't meant to be damage dealers. If you're having trouble soloing, you can alleviate this by: slotting for damage (admittedly this may not be feasible at low-levels when you may need to slot for endrdx instead) and using red inspirations to boost your damage.

My first (and so far only) Tank was/is Inv/SS, currently level 48. He certainly became a lot easier to play with Rage, but I wouldn't have called him "unplayable" before that. I had him abandoned at level 15 for a long time, but once I dusted him off and actually made an effort at learning how to play him, it went pretty well. Of course now with Footstomp he's just ridiculous.

I also have a level 35 SS/WP Brute. He certainly does more damage, but that's because he's supposed to. Tanks and Brutes aren't the same, nor should they be the same.
