Quote:Come up with something new that uses Candy Hearts for the purchase of the stuff. Make a cherub that accepts them like the Elf in the Ski ChaletI highly doubt that they'll ever just scrap the missions for these two events. It would make the associated badges, temp powers and costume parts unavailable, unless they add a Valentine version of the Candy Keeper, or transfer those rewards to new content. It's far more likely that they'll do what they have been doing for the Halloween and Winter Events, keep them available and add new things that aren't directly related to the old ones.
Voila.
No more need to ever see Snaptooth again. -
doG, could this please, with a cherry on top and pixie stix sprinklings, be the last event that we EVER see Snaptooth and that deformed midget, Baby New Year (please not for the next new year's thing)?
So unbelievably sick and tired of both of them. -
Quote:Or it could just be that long-standing bug showing up. Once, during my Arena Heal farming days, my team zoned in to start the match, but we ended up in a lowbie Villain's Contaminated mission. Why it couldn't have been a Snakes, Goldbrickers, or some other CoV-only group.Definitely a link of some kind. Bunch of villains showed up to a Lord of Winter fight I entered from Atlas Park last night. I think the Winter Realm is secretly a co-op zone. Either that or a Nemesis Plot.

Yay! 'tis fixed.
Thankee to whomever on the Community staff went ahead and got mah name changed.

Quote:That's funny, because I was in the Winter Realm yesterday with a character and didn't get the badge. I was attacking the LW like normal, but not on a team.I suspect it follows lusca rules. As i´ve heard people grinding canes and not touching the gm´s have got the badge.
Also
I got the Merits, the Candy Canes, but not the badge.
'tis odd.
Also, there appears to be some linking between instances. Tonight I was on a villain team that got LW down to about 25%. We ran out of time at the final Guardian. Switch over real quick to heroes, since there was an instance starting. Go in, and the LW is in the same place, and has the same amount of health as the one we were just beating on. And no, I don't believe there was enough time for them to get him down to the same level as it was still at 14 minutes. Could be wrong though. *shrug* -
If by 'not' you mean 'it is', then yes...

Might want to edit in a link to the rules site directly.

I think he means a message showing up in the Events channel in the chatbox.
The present does show up on the minimap as a blue dot though. -
Just out of curiosity, but has this program been suspended and/or finished? Sent in a request (finally) last Thursday-ish, but still have the same moniker.
-
Well, got both my badgers out of the way for the Lord Winter badge.
Honestly? He was a bit of a ponce. Went down fairly easily with minimal defeats to the toons. I think we only had two teams both times. The hero run ended up with 6 minutes left, the villain with about 10.
However, the villain run was slowed to an absolute slideshow. Don't know what it was, but it was like a Hami raid from the days of yore.
I don't think I like the trend of new GMs and AVs. Just giving them over 200,000 hit points doesn't make them difficult, it just makes them take forever to whittle them down. Give them better powers, better choices, and better AI, but don't simply give them more damage and more hps. It won't be long before they start turning into 1,000,000 hp sacks, which simply isn't fun to work through. -
Ok, phew.
The list is now updated up to this point. Surprisingly, I was able to still edit the original post. Tis awesome right there.
Now, the one thing I could ask of the viewers is to see if my categorization of the various series are correct. Also, if one could give me an idea of what to put the 'Not Sure' series in, I would be grateful. I believe that I got everything correctly +/-'d, but with this many items, there's bound to be a mistake or two.
Edit - My next task will be to alphabetize them. -

Quote:Ya, I've extolled the virtues of that company for a while now. They are one of my first stops when I go shopping. The store can also be found on Amazon under the name 'shawnek' if I remember rightly. I've gotten a ton of stuff from the Bargain Bin on the website.Very nice find. I generally detest the high cost of anime, but the entire first season of Haruhi for $60 isn't bad at all. I've already got it, but that might make a nice present for a friend.
And ooh... Azumanga Daioh for less than $30 bucks. Definitely worth it. -
Since it's getting to be that time of year again, there's all kinds of holiday specials.
Well, for the anime crowd, there's Right Stuf's holiday sale. I can't speak highly enough of this company. Might be a chance to fill in some of your collection gaps. I'm looking at the Haruhi vol. 4 LE right now... -
Well...there are a lot of boobs in it, at least the first season.
To me, it's sorta the DOAX2 of anime. Kinda. If you squint. -
That'll do it I guess.
Oh, and for Bebop? Episode #18 is my favorite...Mushroom Samba.
You might also try looking at Right Stuf (no, not a typo, rightstuf.com). They're an anime store. I've gotten a LOT of anime from them, particularly their bargain bin stuff. It's region 1 stuff though. -
Quote:I'm not sure exactly what it falls under in this situation. I can only remember two instances, one of Kallen in the shower and another with Voletta waking up. Though there is a cheesecake/silly episode later on in the series that has Voletta in an extremely unlikely bikini.
Nudity doesn't bother me, though I prefer it when it's necessary for the story rather than just thrown in for adolescent titillation - probably because I don't find animated nudity titillating. With live action it's a different matter - I thoroughly enjoy True Blood, and Rome before it, and both have plenty of "nudity-for-the-sake-of-having-nudity" moments
Quote:As long as they don't obsess over technology explanations too much (like Star Trek with its horrid technobabble) I'll be fine - I can handwave the dubious explanations - heck, as a Star Wars and Dr Who fan, I'm used to it - I like science-fantasy - and I can always fall back on Clarke's Third Law. Oh and sorry for costing you a few hours with those TV Tropes links
Quote:Thanks for the heads up - Amazon here still has it in stock. I still wasn't sure if I'd like it - another poster did tell me it had quite a lot of silliness at certain moments, but that they did contrast with darker moments - I liked Trinity Blood and Full Metal Alchemist grew on me over time, and they mixed silliness with serious themes, so if it's similar to them in tempo then I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment from it. It has been recommended a lot so I'll probably give it a try.
In looking at Amazon, they all pretty much say 'Discontinued by the manufactuer', so take that for what you will. -
Do you mean a consistent drop off or just a 'bad' episode or two?
Code Geass has some WTF and eyebrow raising moments, but it is quite masterful, IMO. Oh, be aware. There is a touch of nudity in it (just a couple of scenes iirc, nothing too bad as it was still aired on [as], but blurred).
NGE...watch it while drunk. To me, it's drunk logic. It'll make more sense.
Edit - Oh, you may want to pick up Trigun sooner rather than later. I think but am not sure though, that it's now out of print. I'm having a hella time finding discs of Kimagure Orange Road (not the same series, I know, but it too is OOP). One has been going for $80! -
Quote:*shrug* I didn't accuse you of that, but I do firmly believe that dumpleberries are fictional, the same as beautiful, redheaded women that love guys with no job and little money.I thought of that, too. But if I wasn't on recurrent billing, I would know that I had to pay on time, or my account would lapse. That's the whole point of being on recurrent billing--to eliminate the monthly/periodic re-ups. I'm not trying for a "holier-than-thou attitude plz," I'm just confused how you can stop paying for the game, and not consider it your choice.
Obviously there are going to be goofy issues. My bank got bought out in the middle of the Loyalty period, and my accounts got sold to two different banks. I had to go and rejigger everything, new accounts, credit cards, everything had to be changed over at PlayNC. But I never stopped paying. I firmly expect to get my badges tonight, and I will open a support ticket if I don't. *shrug*
I could easily see it slipping someone's mind, especially if they pay with game cards. They would possibly not realize it till they go to log in. I know I very easily lose track of what day it is. Or there could be a concern with someone's credit card suddenly declining and people not knowing why (I had that happen to me pretty recently as a matter of fact - not here, but on another subscription - plenty of credit, but I think it might of been a matter of my card # changing or something like that) or being informed of the decline. -
Quote:Death Note, up to episode 25, is pretty good (if a bit boring though, as I previously said - it's just not my cuppa, but I can recognize that it's 'good'). You don't need to watch anything after that.Because I forgot to list it in my original recommendations:
Appleseed (+1)
You just convinced me to take Death Note off my Amazon Wish List. I have a distaste for any kind of drama with glacial pacing (and "wheel-spinners" sound like my personal version of hell). -
Quote:Well, I pay in 3 month increments, though I really should go longer on my main, but I digress.Oh, no doubt! I just went through a bad patch myself! I guess I just can't figure how folks don't know if their account was canceled or not. If "lapsed" has another interpretation beyond "canceled" or "inactive account," then you are correct, I need enlightenment.
I have really no idea when my account ticks over to the next billing cycle. If I was to cancel at some point, or if say, a significant other cancelled the account without informing the other party, then there could be some question as to when/if it's still active.
Edit - Or, someone could be paying with game time cards. If those are still available that is. -

Quote:Yes, I do think Bleach has a rather coherent plot past the first season. I don't consider the Bount arc to be any good though. Death Note, to me, was boring throughout. Though it was interesting to see how eating a chip could turned into something dramatic. And yes, Naruto turned into a lot of filler in the last dozen seasons, but Shippuden is pretty good.Never said personal taste shouldn't be considered. But do you really consider Bleach And Death Note past the first few episodes or first season as having coherent and engaging plots, stories? I agree death note was great up until the death of L.. but then they just seemed to lose track of the plot and began milking the story. Bleach quickly became DBZ and naruto..well, I never cared for naruto but that's just personal preference...too much filler for my taste.
Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean others can't (or shouldn't) like it. I don't like A Miracle on 34th Street or Citizen Kane nor do I consider them the greatest gifts to mankind, but that doesn't mean I can't recognize and accept others personal opinions about those movies.
But honestly? To me, you're coming off as an anime snob. Not measurably different than those guys that walk around in berets decrying movies like Superbad or <insert popular movie name here> while trumpeting the wonders of incomprehensible arthouse movies that like to think they are 'deep'. -
Quote:
You can disagree all you like, Ghost in the Shell the original movie is on many top anime lists across the web and many Anime Magazines Quote:I don't feel Naruto, Bleach or Death Note should be on the list because I personally don't consider these Anime as much as I do pop-culture smutt.
I prefer to like what I like. Not what a magazine tells me to like...
