The same Dev that decided a contact should give no missions in their own zone, but rather put the doors completely across town?

Just finished Welcome to the NHK. It's an emotionally draining series. Quite good, but man, I need to decompress after watching it. It's the story of a hikikomori (closest Western equivalent would probably be a shut-in) who is also a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). It's pretty much a rollercoaster dealing with some pretty heavy issues like suicide and I would say, mental illness. I can't see myself watching the series again (probably), but it was worth watching at least once. I can find myself identifying with the protagonist on a few levels.
Interesting side note...the first five volumes in the series were put out by ADV, but the sixth is by Funimation. You might get some odd looks if you're buying the series in a brick and mortar store, since the covers of the volumes feature women in very fanservicey clothing that has absolutely nothing to do with the plot. The covers are not even representative of what the various volumes deal with. -
I have to wonder what the trigger is going to be that causes the signed copies to skyrocket in value.
I predict Troy on the news and the story involves a rubber chicken, jumper cables, and clown makeup.
But that's just a wild hypothesis...
It could be fake robot makeup.

I hate to say this, but...
While Sarah is an undeniably attractive woman and I would maim someone to have a similar looking woman in the belly dancer outfit...she doesn't really have the hips for it, IMO. -
Love the deer-in-the-headlights look that Chuck and Sarah got when the fam was going nutso on the wedding. Also loved Casey's response to Morgan.
This may call for a review of my Man Card, but...the shoes the Fercs were wearing. Come on. They're soldiers but they're wearing 4-inch heeled combat boots? Those can't be comfortable! Same goes for Sarah going into infiltration wearing heels.
Also, belly dancers are the hawt. We need more of them. Plus, Sarah's semi-4th wall breaking comment. -
Quote:Actually, I've seen some GR ads in DC comics, iirc. Though that was before a certain unnamed game came out.Wait... there's a CoH ad that actually exists? Never seen it. Oh and what are these "magazines" you speak of. I heard from a friend of a friend that they used to be kinda important to some people, but they seem to have disappeared. Can you find one in an online museum photo gallery?

Quote:You do see my reg date and post count, correct?Suggestions and Ideas in the For Fun Section:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/forumdisplay.php?f=603
Would like to see this idea myself ingameThe forum itself is not unknown to me. As well as the chances of someone in power actually seeing it.
I was figuring I'd get a better response by simplying PMing the dev responsible for that section of development. -
Quote:I'm not even sure if I've done 50 Task Forces TOTAL over the life of the game and all my characters so far. I might be somewhat close, but still. That's over 6 years at this point. And then asking for 51 more, minimum, on one character? That's great, that these line up well with your playstyle. Not mine. I wasn't going to run any given TF more often than once every couple of weeks, so it's an unacceptable grind. Repeating the same exact contact over and over and over in a short period of time? Boring as hell to me. Absolutely miserable. I've written these badges off of my "to get" list just like Empath on my characters with no Heal or most of the PvP badges.
I am aware that the count doesn't reset at the beginning of each week, but the first WTF in a given week won't count. The one that grants the actual rewards that I give a crap about the WTF for.
A better progression would've been 1, 5, 10. Or 1, 10, 20. But 50 is simply too much, IMO. -
Ah shazbot. Thanks though. I wish they'd do a quick little update that would have it collapsed by default. I wonder whose section that such a request to do so would fall under?
-
Keep the Memorized Recipe list from automatically expanding? Meaning that every time I open my Recipe list, it always expands the list of memorized recipes, which means that I have to manually collapse it see the recipes that I've collected.
It's annoying and a right PITA. -

Quote:You're welcome. I also put in an order for the signed version last night. Westfield also seemed to be sold out of the non-signed version of the first issue.Ooh, thanks Dark One!
I'll try to get an order in for a signed copy from the first link when I get my tax refund on Friday.
Now Troy...we need these signatures to be extra good! -
Quote:Here's one.Can I order a copy directly from you, Troy? Drove two hours there and two hours back and they don't have it, and the only Hickman they knew of wrote "Dragonlance".
Another.
A third location.
I might go with the first, if only to add to my Troy Signed Collection. -
Ya, I've done it several times. Mostly when I didn't get around to reading the previously bought issues, then buying the same issue the next week.
-
Quote:Just for that, he should send you a pair of autographed pants.Went to my FLGS to buy it. Nearly a block down the street, I said to my stepbrother who was picking up a copy with me "Is somebody overcooking meatloaf nearby??"
Turns out, it was Big Sweaty Tex, our least favorite local Comic Shop Denizen, plopped down in the back secreting his ooze over a table full of warhammer stuff and the leash of his twi'lek slave girl. I am not even kidding about this guy's funk. More than a hundred feet away, and we were upwind of the store! I don't know how that even works, unless he walked there the same way and periodically rubbed up against things.
Anyway, just wanted to make it clear the dangers we braved for you. The store didn't have it in, so we'll have to go back... *cue dramatic music* ... NEXT THURSDAY! THE SUSPENSE!!!
Also, if it was my shop, I would either stand outside with a firehose whenever he came within spitting distance, or politely suggest that he take his invisible, smelly friend to another shop. -
Quote:I used Westfield last year for some stuff and they were pretty good. They even send out a paper catalog with new stuffs coming out.I don't think Amazon does single issues, but there are online comic shops you can use. I've used Khepri Comics and liked them, but their selection can be a little limited so they may not have it. I've heard good things about Mile High Comics, Westfield Comics, and Midtown Comics, but I haven't used any of them.
Troy, do you know if it'll show up on Comixology in the near future? I'm buying it in print anyway, but it'd be cool to have it on the iPad as well at some point.
The semi-LCS hadn't even heard of TG when I was in last month. >.< -
Those final two episodes were deeply disturbing. Overall, every person that was a target for Ai, save one, deserved what they got. There was one episode that made me absolutely loathe the target and didn't sit right with me for the rest of the night...the Pinky episode.
I did find it interesting that most of the revengers were women rather than men. -
Wizard was the people that did Anime Insider too, right?
The shuttering of that magazine really honked me off. About 3 months before it shuttered, I got a renewel notice and subbed for a 2 year subscription. It took a couple of months for me to realize I wasn't receiving my issues. The only reason I was able to get my sub money back was because I went to the forum for that mag (shuttered about a week after I posted about in it) and found the information to request a refund. Took a couple months and repeated emails before someone actually helped me.
There was no notification whatsoever that the mag was closing down. No indication in the last issue that it WAS the last issue ever, to the best of my recollection. -
Just finished the first season of Hell Girl. It was beautifully animated throughout, especially Ai's kimono when she was sending people to hell. Interesting twist in the sixth disc. It starts out very reminiscent of Requiem For The Darkness, IMO, but develops a deeper story by about the third disc. Really like Ai's Japanese VA, especially when she says her "Care to give death a try?" line.

Quote:I'm gonna go with the latter. Come on, it's been 20+ frickin' years. It doesn't take THAT long to take down one guy, especially when you see him kill people in front of you. Worse comes to worse, you pop the guy and be done with it.Been there since Season 1.
Good episode over all. I'm still back and forth on whether Misses Bartowski is spying on Volkoff, or actually working for him and trying to convince Sara that she's a spy while twisting Sara and manipulating her to Volkoff's whims..
Destroying Papa Bartowski's information lair alone would serve as evidence. How many bad guys and plots did she destroy there? Sure, she "saved" Chuck and Sarah, but come on. (As an aside, should the few bombs placed right at the front destroy that seeming mile-long bunker? One would think there'd be fire suppression systems in there and a bit of reinforcement.) -
Ya, it's pretty much a Where's Waldo game with the CoV box. It typically shows up at least once an episode when they're in the Buy More.
-
Someone needs to 'shop black-haired Sarah into a Baroness outfit. Chop chop!
-
Jeffster Jeffster Jeffster...what are we going to do with you two idiots?
Show of hands...who didn't see that twist coming? -
Quote:The dude's like a level 3 /SR scrapper! Cut him some slack. We all know Defense-based builds suck until SOs!My and the GF were talking about how he seems to get kicked around a lot for a "super hero" and he needs to get better at fighting if it's going to be fun to watch. I mean, It's one thing to be realistic, but if he's always getting his butt kicked by every little punk Chess throws at him....

Wait, that's out already? Because it's not showing up on Amazon.
